I wish some of the van conversion and RV companies would have embraced the small van. Van life is popular again but they are almost exclusively using the large vans and as a result, these vans cost $100k-$200k. The small vans cost less initially, get better fuel economy, and are easier to park especially in a HOA.

Modern vehicles have too many sensors and it always costs 100 bucks to replace one. I don't like TPMS because they are unnecessary. I recently put new tires on my truck and told my mechanic to replace the TPMS with valve stems. I would rather push a button to remove the tire sensor warning than waste money on useless/unnecessary technology. I have several tire pressure gauges that are easy to use, and they last forever. When the tire sensors stop working you have to pay for a new one, pay to remove the tire from the rim, pay for the labor of removal of the old sensor and installation of the new one. Then the shop will charge you for mounting/balancing, shop supplies and an environmental fee. Car manufacturers install all these sensors, not for safety, but to guarantee a constant stream of revenue.

The TFL crew does an amazing, unbiased job in each and every video. I always seem to agree with your conclusions. As an aside, I totally agree with Nathan and Roman's view on ads vs real world tests. As a Cybertruck reservation holder, I cannot wait til TFL gets their hands on the Cybertruck to test. I think it's also ridiculous that TFL was not provided one to test like many of the other You Tube channels that I watch as well, but clearly some are biased. That said, lucky to have had all types of vehicles including a current Model Y, C8 that I track, one of the dastardly VW Passat 2013 2.0 TDIs. I am looking for my next truck which will probably be the baby 3.0 Duramax next year some time. I had a res for a F150 Lightening (which I gave up to to their lack of range), have a res for a Chevy Silverado (aka should be called Avalanche which I own a 2013 Black Diamond that I love). The Silverado EV looks interesting, but to get the mid gate you will need to spend LOTS of $s. The bottom line is like your channel, I love all cars and trucks (ICE/EVs/performance like the C8). Can't tell you how many times people hate on my Model Y but then they're like..."oh, you have a C8?" I love the bizarre look on their face - let alone, when I tell them about my VW TDI! Keep up the great work boys.....Don't change a thing.

Thank you TFL, I really enjoy your podcasts and videos. Another possibility for why your cheap Tacoma video got a relatively low number of hits, is that it was not your first video on the new Tacoma, plus it was one of MANY Tacoma videos that flooded RUclips around the same time. I realize much of this is out of your control since you have to show what Toyota provides at the time, but there's only so many videos one will watch on the same vehicle in a short span of time. Rest assured, trucks are too expensive, like everything else.

Three peak snow tires are ok in the snow the issue is ice. They suck on ice which is really the issue in winter driving. Winter tires are the way to go. Swapping tires is just an opportunity to check your break system. When I lived in Quebec it is the law to drive with winter tires. That should be the case in all areas with snow.

I just checked my local Toyota dealer. Cheapest Tacoma (Access Cab, 2WD) is going to be north of $30K after tax. Add double cab and 4WD, so it's actual practical and can tow, then add another $7K. I can't even imagine how dealer fees will bloat even further. This isn't "very affordable" to me in the least, certainly not with the current interest rates. I've owned two Hyundai Accents and a Mits Mirage, so I do want a cheap truck. I didn't watch the Tacoma video, because while I can technically afford to finance a new car, no car debt is really nice. The new car videos won't be relevant to me for at least a few years, in which case there will be new videos on those models. TFL Classic is where it's at.

It’s unlikely that where I live in a RHD market we will ever see it, it’s way too big for our roads and where I live we have lots of old bridges with a 2.5t maximum weight restriction. It’s even too wide to fit on my local lanes that serve as roads.

Why do you need a video specifically about a cheap truck? its the same as the expensive one with less stuff in it. If you wanted to see the most base version, go to the dealership. TFL will make way more money focusing on people who watch for knowledge and entertainment than people who are actively shopping, those people will be gone in 2 days once they buy their vehicle. Roman, you say that you want to do fact based journalism and let the viewer decide but you do not listen to the way you say things. For example “the extended battery shrinks the bed” well no kidding, so does a slip tank, so does a tool box, so does a tonneau cover, so does a canopy. All these things have an effect on what you do with your bed. Tesla specifically said with Sandy Munro that unless you are towing, you do not likely need that extra battery, but if you are towing, you can have it. So that is giving the customer choice, and if it’s a choice they like to have available to them, then it makes sense. You’re telling the viewer what their opinion needs to be about the choice. You’re telling them it’s better to decrease the room under the body of the truck and make engineering compromises for a small set of people who need the extra battery, meanwhile also complaining about the cost of everything. Thats not journalism, that’s injecting your own opinion.

So I need something snow capable twice a year lol I have an F150 currently so running some Discount Tire Pathfinder A/Ts and they are 3 Peak rated. The Jeep Renegade was also canceled for the US market. People really don’t buy them mostly because the Compass is a more spacious and better looking option for not that much more money than the Renegade. And they introduced the Renegade with the 1.3 turbo engine that was just awful, they leaked oil after 20k miles and in one extreme case I’ve seen one blow up at 31k. They’re putting the 1.3 in the hornet and good luck stellantis. I hope it goes well but I’m not holding my breath

The whole idea of the Cybertruck is to get people talking about it, and talking about Tesla. Elon knew that people would love it or hate it, it’s a rolling free advertisement that’s worked even a few years before the concept was revealed in 2019, anyone who talks about it, love it or hate it , is constant free advertising for Tesla, and that includes these guys talking about it and every comment on every video.
And also ,The Cybertruck, like the Model S, X, 3, and Y, even the Semi and the new Roadster, is also a direct challenge to other automakers to do the same or better. Elon haters, Tesla haters , or EV haters in general can blame him for the change to electric vehicles, or lovers (and owners like me) of electric vehicles can thank him …

It totally escaped you All that real Winter tires Not quasi kinda sorta winter ISH KINDA 😂snow Light snow tires were different from real ones! LITERALLY OY VEY!🤦‍♂️ - & Japan has sunk massive money, investment into infrastructure for hydrogen. 1 they're an ISLAND NATION Ya know Surrounded by WATER. It's not only for vehicles though, rather to Power entire Cities! And as Japan is turning off most of their Nuclear plants, it makes sense that they're investing Billions! One of my bfs whose a retired Hedgefund, oversees investment & infrastructure planning in several cities/countries. Japan being one of them, what they're doing with hydrogen is impressive! So as it applies to Why no EVs or barely any ? It's bc they're putting more emphasis on hydrogen & they're getting close. Japan wants to be rid of Nuclear Power which does most of their power needs, by mid 2030s!

You are concerned about Chrysler not having cars to sell...what cars does Ford sell? The real problem with Chrysler is that their vehicles are over priced and most are lemons. Selling lemons and going upscale is a problem! Chrysler dealers sell the jeep line, the ram line, the dogde line, the alpha line, the fiat line. What they cant sell is a $100k wagoneer! As far as the Challenger and Charger they sold that heap basically unchanged for decades! Thank God those things are gone. btw - it is not that people want "cheap" trucks...it is that manufacturers are overpricing products with features that people want. Why is an F150 $80k, it's because they can not because it is worth that!

I’ll tell why people don’t watch cheap truck and car reviews here in the USA. Because we are pre conditioned by medias propaganda, that we should live in this imaginary world were we buy stuff that we cannot afford. As if you are driving a cheap vehicle, you are considered as low class. It is an absolutely ridiculous and unrealistic state of mind.

Cheap trucks aren't cheap enough, now stick with me. A base ford ranger 4x4 with nothing extra is only 10% less than the XLT 4x4. Also by the time the dealer gets done with it, the truck is several grand more expensive. They aren't watched because it's not useable as a review for us to actually buy it and it's less entertaining to see the crazy tech. For me it's just frustrating to see the affordable options only a few percent cheaper than the crazy 40k rangers.

Obviously also they've pegged their future on hybrid and hydrogen they see pure EV as a major threat.

Roman, people don't "love" cheap trucks. They want the expensive truck but they want to pay the "cheap truck" price. In other words, consumers haven't changed. They want caviar on the cracker jack budget. This is why people watch the expensive truck videos.
Having just returned home from a trip to the San Francisco area - Tesla is a cult out there. Literally 1 out of every 5 cars out there are these infernal golf carts. I'm convinced that its just like Apple - in that no matter what kind of objective criticism you level at the brand's products, there will be the religiously devoted that will attack you as a knuckle-dragging troglodyte.
