Something is seriously wrong when such planes aren't even converted to regular passenger service or at least a freighter; what a waste of fine aircraft.

The scrapping will minimize the financial losses, the usable parts will be recycled as like new parts for the rest of the fleet. Any type of airliners will face the same when they are worth more as parts sources than flying.

I just seen this bird in Pinal Air park. Sad to see it was practically new before it was scrapped.

It's very sad to know that she had only 42 hours. This beautiful airplane didn't deserve such an unfortunate end. However, with costs being very high, there really is no other relief for this beauty. The 747-8 is always going to be a fantastic airplane for longer routes. The Queen will always live on!!!!

Great spotting and unfortunate for this aircraft to be scrapped, I hope to see many 747s in the future. Keep up the good work 👍

Not scrapped. It will be parted out as it's a useful source of very valuable spare parts.

This is also known as aircraft scrapping. But it doesn't matter.

It was due to be delivered in 2015 to the Saudi Goverment but the Delivery never happened. It was outfited already in Basel. Guess the Interior was just to... well i guess no one else wanted it. Indeed sad
