Everyone should know that this was doing Covid. Services was cut for all airlines. Delta is very good now. I flew first class from LAX to ATL and the services and food was excellent. Also my flight from LAX to HNL was great too.

No kidding. I had a 1 hr BOS-YUL flight on an ERJ-175 where I got a full hot meal on AC (in J) this November. Then flew YYZ-IAH for 4+ hours in a UA 175 in J and basically got packaged snacks. Seats were about the same, but it's an ERJ.
DL did announce hot meals returning to 900+ mile flights yesterday starting in March. But I'll believe it when I see it! Or smell it because I only pay for main cabin and aim for free upgrades 😅 Those lunch boxes they serve would actually be a nice addition on flights between 600-900 miles where they only served snacks pre-COVID.
@Diane Schroeder I'm mostly referring to the FC service, which only has snacks on sub-900 mile flights. One reason why I only pay for main cabin and then take the free upgrades as a medallion!
Ok either I'm crazy, or the clip at 6:25 is playing backwards. Cause I have never seen clouds move the way they were during that clip. Otherwise great video!
I fly a lot in that box you got is far better than I’ve gotten on most domestic first class Delta trips. That is a vast step up from what they’ve normally been doing over the last year or so. That’s one way they’ve stayed profitable, by cutting high-end food on flights. That saves them a bunch of money hence the reason they do it. I recently flew to Europe on Delta wine and got a full meal. They recently announced that on domestic first class flights over 900 miles, real food starts rolling out again beginning March 1. Thank heavens for that! I’ve flown a lot of first class flights over the last couple of years to get no more than a small bag of Goldfish crackers, one pack of Biscoff, and a small bottle of water. All in a Ziploc bag with a napkin. Your charcuterie box, compared to that, is a feast!
Yeah, I saw that announcement about real food returning to first class about an hour after I finished editing this. It’s almost as if Delta could sense that I was about to upload a video voicing my displeasure of the meal service. 😄
Aaah. We just booked Delta One from Paris to Raleigh, this will be my first (and probably last time) traveling in business class, this looks rather sad.. any chance there might be an update on 767-300 by October 2022? 😀

Delta ones to replace their 767-300, all of them, but they don't find the solution since the 767 is like it's like a plant whose roots are wrapped around another tree, we just leave it damaged and not much can be done (I don't know if that's a good comparison) In the same way, the 767 is a machine to last and doesn't have much replacement, what closest is the 787-8 or the a330-800neo. On the other hand, Delta is getting more lower every day, I have even seen AA and UA doing better domestic fly with better seats including the food. And JetBlue is still the king. Hope they do something soon or they would end in problems like Boeing.
Thanks Sergio! Yeah, as a domestic aircraft it’s fine, but the 763 with these seats isn’t all that competitive anymore. There are so many better options these days (from a passenger’s perspective). The good news is that I heard they are bringing proper food back to first class in March - finally!
Love the review here! My thoughts exactly when it came to the D1 cabin on the 767. It's a great cabin overall but the the inoperable IFE systems is definitely a bummer and it seems to occur on a decent amount of 767's in the fleet. I was able to fly on the retrofitted 767 recently in D1 and they still didn't update the IFE systems unfortunately.
I flew on that particular aircraft on a JFK to LAX flight and i was really unimpressed. It was sold as a Delta One product and would have cost me $1200 had i paid cash. My experience wasnt too different. It really showed the disparity between the service on the AA A321T that i had just gotten off of that offered a full meal and bedding. I don't know what the pandemic did to delta but the so called best airline in the states needs to get it together. all that said the cabin crew have always been amazing
My thoughts exactly! I recently flew in business class on the AA A321T from JFK to SFO and it was very very good. It’s kind of sad to see Delta just giving up like this.
Your snack box is similar to an International flight between Narita and Guam which I took years ago. It was probably the most disappointing "dinner" on an international flight I ever had.
I really hope I get to fly in a Delta 767, while Delta does want to keep there 767s, that only applies to there -400 fleet as there -300 fleet could be completely retiring(I say could be, because Delta is refitting some of them so maybe they would stay for a bit longer) I know Delta is keeping the -400 model, there's something about the -300 that interests me...I know the -400 is the same thing but with a stretched fuselage but I really don't know why I seem to like the -300 so much.
Geez, I thought AmericanAirlines was bad but at least they never served me boxed food in First Class. Shame on Delta for that box of stale food! At least with my home airport of Palm Springs I can choose between United and AA, both of whom have returned to pre-Covid standards❤️👍✈️

I've only flown Economy. But if I decided to splurge and pay for Delta's First Class I would have been happy with the seating/footroom, but I would have been decidedly pissed at the non-functioning IFE and outlet and hugely disappointed at the so-called catering. That would make me decide to never again pay all that extra for domestic First Class in the US. At least on Delta. First or Business Class gives you some bits of luxury elsewhere in the world but it's not all that meaningful here in the US. The good news is that not an hour after I finished editing this video, Delta announced that plated meal service is coming back to first class soon. Finally!
All the criticisms offered are accurate. Americans are poorly serviced by their domestic airlines in comparison to others in the developed world, who can expect to obtain excellence without compromise and probably at a better cost per km flown.
@@OVTraveller Thank for your response. I respect the atmosphere of dissent in our country, but where it has gone terribly wrong is this sports mentality that has been adopted by both major parties. Meaning that if one side "wins" that is an absolute triumph for their particular side. Sadly, no one wins with this attitude. Real problems are ignored while this spectacle of "we're right and you are always wrongs" is rotting our souls internally.
I will take B6 mint JFK-LAS over DL any time. It really is sad to see how far DL has slipped, when AA serves better food than you, you know you have an issue.
Ahh, mediocrity in the sky, Delta. I might be forced to fly them later this year...still working on my options. As always, enjoyed the "sarcasm"...and other things....didn't know about the little forest area at ATL...fake as it is. Given the choice, I'll choose JetBlue everytime, unless their cost is silly....which it rarely is. Thanks for appreciating my gloomy SAN footage! 😄 And I don’t blame you about feeling not so excited about the current state of air travel. It’s definitely not like it was in the before times.
It was kind of funny watching the cabin crew hand out these boxes to all the passengers in the rows in front of me. All I kept hearing was “I’m so sorry this is all we have” over and over again. I would venture to guess that most everyone was disappointed with the snack boxes on this flight.
I'd throw that snack box right back at them. (Okay, not really.) Those snack boxes are insulting as are their outdated, crusty 30 year old aircraft. The only thing first class about that flight was that you were among the first to board and exit the aircraft.
Haha, yeah, I totally understand the temptation to throw it back at ‘em. 😄 At least Delta announced that proper food will be coming back to first class soon. So that’s a big step in the right direction…
7:07 Wth the charging is literally working lol. Green light on the outlet and clearly a charging icon on your 13promax. Are you just trying to shit on delta here? Keep that same energy with the 321neo when you review it
Maybe because I am UK based that's why I do not get it, but how is this even possible to not have proper meal in 1st class on a long haul 5 h flight? That is inexcusable. Is this a US thing? I have never seen this anywhere else. Such rubbish "food" box. On my recent US trip I got a few shocking reminders on how bad "food" in US is on board, looks like standards are continually declining across the pond!
It’s not just you John! We’re all getting frustrated with it here as well, but there is some good news. Delta just announced that full plated meals will be coming back to first class in March. Fingers crossed that it actually happens…

I've been impressed with Delta's notifications. They did baggage tracking on their app long before anyone else joined in.
They’ve got the best notifications of all the US airlines IMHO. It’s very nice, especially when there is a delay!

Walking between the terminals at ATL is the reason why prefer longer layovers there. It’s a nice walk from one end to the other!

All the criticisms offered are accurate. Americans are poorly serviced by their domestic airlines in comparison to others in the developed world, who can expect to obtain excellence without compromise and probably at a better cost per km flown.
Our obsession with value over quality points to our overall demise as a country, but I digress.
@@ronachten2902 I agree wholeheartedly with your 'digression', especially when it come to an analysis of the current state of politics?
@@OVTraveller Thank for your response. I respect the atmosphere of dissent in our country, but where it has gone terribly wrong is this sports mentality that has been adopted by both major parties. Meaning that if one side "wins" that is an absolute triumph for their particular side. Sadly, no one wins with this attitude. Real problems are ignored while this spectacle of "we're right and you are always wrongs" is rotting our souls internally.
Ugh what a shame Delta. Scott, any aviation video using the word crusty causes concern. 😀
Yeah definitely looks like it could use an upgrade interior
I’ve seen pics of one of the 767s with the new seat materials and it looks pretty good actually.
Anyone offer recommendations from Orlando to Honolulu any class, looking for best comfort and cleanliness and food, etc.
I would’ve been livid if I paid that much for the terrible everything.
At least Delta keeps up with delays unlike American Airlines unless its weather related
OMG I GUESSED PHOENIX FIRST TRY
Wow I thought my virgin Atlantic flight food was bad
It’ll get better soon though -plated meals in first class will be returning in March.
Is there ANYTHING you DO like or is this simply a rant?
I will take B6 mint JFK-LAS over DL any time. It really is sad to see how far DL has slipped, when AA serves better food than you, you know you have an issue.
Ahh, mediocrity in the sky, Delta. I might be forced to fly them later this year...still working on my options.
As always, enjoyed the "sarcasm"...and other things....didn't know about the little forest area at ATL...fake as it is.
Given the choice, I'll choose JetBlue everytime, unless their cost is silly....which it rarely is.
There are days I miss my former road warrior life in the air....and then I wake up to the current reality of masks, pandemic and other restrictions...and makes me enjoy my commute is now 25 feet.
Until your next review....keep making it rain in SD!
Thanks for appreciating my gloomy SAN footage! 😄 And I don’t blame you about feeling not so excited about the current state of air travel. It’s definitely not like it was in the before times.
I really, really enjoyed delta pre-covid.
plated meal service is resuming in march
Looking at that engine would terrify me it looks orange 😂😂
it's the reflection of the sun you weirdo
Scott, if you’d like a tour of MSPs TechOps facility, shoot me a DM
It’s better than United at least
I actually enjoyed Polaris business class. I didn’t find it to be as bad as some people say…
Woah, I'm the first one commenting. Great video.
Thanks! But you were beat by just a few seconds by @CleverIV. 🥈😆
At least LI Flyer wont be here
Delta’s excuses are tired. First class does not include a box
06:36 Toilet Review ©™ 😁
I knew you would be proud. 😆
When you live in Cali you must get used to eating nuts and things,
Asks what has happened to the food service during a pandemic 😷
I know I know I know 😅
7:07 Wth the charging is literally working lol. Green light on the outlet and clearly a charging icon on your 13promax. Are you just trying to shit on delta here? Keep that same energy with the 321neo when you review it
It was flickering on and off the entire time - I wasn’t able to charge my phone on this flight.
👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 not happening for me. I’ll stick with American. 😉
Love the airport, don’t like the homophobic chicken myself.
Yeah I will admit that they aren’t the most inclusive - a shame really because they do have decent food.
These are rather embarrassing Delta One product for international routes.
