My red bag has gotten me casually waved into highly secure locations that otherwise would have taken months of deep background checks and psychological profiles.
Wow, that is crazy. Would the people not know they ordered? I do carry a large flashlight - it would blind someone and can be used for other things. I do stay out of areas I don't know. I need the flashlight at night to even see the mailbox/house numbers and for those that don't leave a porch light on.... Yes, there are some places I won't go based on their food packaging. Chick-Flia-A is almost one of them. The way they package their bags have no where to grip them and they will disintegrate in any type of water. I have gotten myself a box of black plastic shopping bags to help me out when I need it. McDonalds was the best at adapting to the delivery game. Starbucks second. The rest.... no so much - you are on your own.
Very inquisitive cashier. I appreciate people like him. He's genuinely interested in your situation and learms from people all day long. Smart guy right there.
I carry the "world's brightest flashlight", it has a blinding pulse mode. I also live in Texas where the 2A is still free, so I usually have a little piece under my shirt.
Does anyone have suggestions on affordable and reliable dashcams and body cams? . I guess I should research. Sometimes actual dashers would be the better reviews. I don't trust all the reviews from amazon or other retailer sites Imho.
Finally I catch one when it posts beforehand lol. 🤣 and that dude was nosey. Geezus I thought you was going to have to give your life story. I know our safety is important I'm sorry but I do and will always carry.
Shopping orders have been hitting hard. Im 6-7 miles away from a Meijer, and I've been getting stack orders while at home of $30+, only take a few if they bring me back towards my house.
4 customers have had the wrong address on me in last 3 months. 2 had next door neighbor's address, 1 was 5 miles off by allowing autofill to put them on wrong end of town and the other had the McDonalds pickup location as their own address. All 4 were leave at door orders. I got super lucky as 2 customers texted me after pickup, 1 came out of house as I was walking up to drop next door, and the 5 miler luckily had no matching house address at the wrong location so I texted them after they ignored my phone call. This is also another reason I do not Dash in the dark anymore.
I made $82.85 today while driving 92 miles (5 PM to 10 PM). Want to try your luck in middle Tennessee? Every single one of your videos makes me want to move.
Well Charlie this is coming from a customer POV. As you know I'm disabled & use a manual wheelchair so for my persobal safety I always have my groceries delivered during the hours that my Aid is here. Being disabled puts me in the category of being vulnerable along with children & senior citizens.
Let me tell you brash I know some parents that have some teenage daughters that might not appreciate seeing a 30 to 40 something year old man walk up to their door and knock holding a bottle of alcohol. I couldn't agree with you more this woman getting you the wrong address could have turned out very different. Stay safe out there!
Body cam from pickup to drop off and a dash cam with 4 cameras that include front back and both sides. This gig app stuff from late 2019 has taught me well. Don’t trust anyone.
The schools just let em roll in. I was thinking this yesterday as I delivered to a school. I left it outside and texted that I wasn't comfortable entering the building. She was fone with it as she saw me place it down through the window. But there's ZERO security around this
DoorDash used to give me alcohol deliveries before I was 21, I took them because it’s free extra money. No store ever IDed me until a month after my 21st birthday at a Speedway. I was kinda shocked at how easily the stores were giving alcohol to a “minor”.
Yeah, it is great at night, when the people don’t have lights or addresses on their home or mailbox. Turn the light on! I get some can not access a light, but it infuriates me when they turn a light 💡 on for them to grab their food. Really? You had a light? You live there, and u need a damn light.🤨 Or, ones that want you to enter an apartment (house style) w a million unmarked doors at 2 a.m.-I quit doing that-it is going to front door if it isn’t a complex.
i was texted twice in a month by two different customers saying their at a dif address then i get what looks like a legit DD call india accent and all saying Are you going to deliver it or not? so i called Dd from my side and put them together .. was a scam using sound board. i went home with the groceries after dd told me to dispose in a safe place. first was the same scam call but i did deliver that one
Charlie, Charlie, Charlie you can't tell us to not make it weird. 1. We probably wouldn't have to begin with. 2. We are totally going to make it super weird. We can't help it lol. There are a few places l will not got. One of them is an apartment complexe 80% of the people here don't know the actual name of, but only by it's nickname of The Chicken Coups. Alot of crime there sadly. Ironically even in my little podunk town there was a women beat up and robbed by people saying they where doordash. Dashcam is a must. Person body cams are very cheap on amazon.
Safety... Let me tell you about a job I had in the '80s. I was a water meter reader in Milwaukee, WI. I knocked on 120-180 doors a day to ask people to let me in their basement to read the meter. And with no seniority, most days I was in the, let's say, unsavory parts of town. Once someone let me in when they shouldn't have, and as I was going down to the basement I noticed that the back room had tables with scales, empty plastic baggies, big plastic bags with white powders, and other table with people counting stacks of currency. I prayed they wouldn't get busted soon because I didn't want anyone thinking I'm the guy who turned them in because I kept my mouth shut. Another time I was just preparing to start my route when dozens, and dozens of police vehicles started swarming the area. A block from where I was parked, a police officer was shot dead in the street. When I called my boss, he told me that he couldn't reassign me to a different area because they needed that area done. I ignored him, and instead went to the "industrial clinic" that they used for workers comp claims, and *their* doctor gave me a week of paid leave, and a referral to a psychologist. Then there was the time that the guy who left me in freaked out while I was in his basement, screaming crazy stuff, and saying he had a gun, and would shoot me if I came up the stairs. With no cell phones back then, I had to talk him into coming down stairs, and go one way, while I ran out behind him, hoping I'd be fast enough. When I stopped running, and found a phone to call the police, they came, and told me that they knew him, and he probably didn't have a gun, so they weren't going to do anything. These are some of the situations that got out of control, but hardly a day went by that I didn't have to take some kind of action to preserve my life. Basically, I'd have to think about what I do as a Dasher to keep myself safe because most of what I do is just reflexive. I don't Dash in neighborhoods anywhere near as sketchy as those neighborhoods, and with a cell phone in hand, the risks I face aren't nearly the same. But, yeah, you've got to be aware of your surroundings. BTW... If someone comes at you swinging a bat (or a pipe, or whatever), don't back away. They'll get you with the fast moving end of the bat. If you instead, lunge into them, the end of the bat closest to them has little momentum, and you also have a chance of knocking it out of their hands. (Yeah, that's another story from the streets.)
When the cashier said have a good day you should have said word 😅

Always with ya' til the end! 🥰 Besides, I look forward to the waterfall. 😉 Couldn't say how many times he said Word, but it was A LOT. 🤣
I carry the "world's brightest flashlight", it has a blinding pulse mode. I also live in Texas where the 2A is still free, so I usually have a little piece under my shirt.
Necessities for me: Body cam (doubles as a bright light $30/Amazon), Dual Camera Dashcam and video record every delivery using Timestamp Camera App.
What dashcam you using
Does anyone have suggestions on affordable and reliable dashcams and body cams?

This is why I hate “gift” orders to people noted in the instructions. These people may not know you’re delivering.
Word
😂

Word of the day is word 😂
😆
Everybody knows that the bird is the word.
Raisin Canes is fast where I’m at. They usually have the order done before I can fill the sweet tea.
Wow, I told that guy in my area to take that embrace the suck t-shirt off with the doordash bag, he wasn't a dasher and sure wasn't you Charlie 👀
Wasn’t me lol

I read the comments before getting to the "word" part of the video. Still laughed my ass off.

For alcohol deliveries there has to be an ID given anyway. I call from my vehicle on arrival and make sure they're meeting me at the door.

The solution would be a rack outside the front entrance.
5 times. Please send my brownie points to ....... 🤪
All orders should default to leave at door and make people take pictures of the front door delivery area.
It's 2024, it only get worse from here.
When you handled them did they seem even or a little off kilter?
Congrats on 4K subscribers 🥳
Thank you!! 😁
Oh you have a camera ? Word. You have a You Tube channel ? Word. Almost 4000 subscribers ? Word. Excuse me sir, Bird is the word. Word ? Word.
🤣

That’s crazy on both doordash and the merchants

I think so
I cancel carry when I Dash
One of the few times I agree with cancel culture.
I conceal carry always
that pause before "fortunately" @11:16😂
That's what's up. Chill cashiers are the best
