Phil Lynott was easily one of the top 5 rock lead singers for me! Stage presence, charisma, song writing genius and poet! Great band. His song "Sarah" written for his daughter is just beautiful.
Roger, he has a great voice but did he do that many songs? I don't think this group did much.
@@michaelasay8587 They were very big. Emerald and Jailbreak are great albums.
@@rogerbillings5081 but they didn't have many hit songs....
Forty-seven years later and I still have this song on my play list.
this song never gets old.
Phil Lynette was Irish, from Dublin ..my ex's aunt dated him for a while. There is a Phil Lynette statue in temple bar, the downtown party area of dublin
One of the greatest rock songs ever…a classic.
Loved your reaction to this iconic 70's banger. One of the best and well know rockers of all time. I see you using your "penelope" pen and thoroughly enjoying this!! Thanks for keeping this great music alive!
One of the true rock classics of all-time!!
I'm Batman
Thin Lizzy was one of the hottest bands in the mid-late 1970's, and early 80's Lead Singer and Bassist Phil Lynott (RIP), was super dynamic in concert, and always provided the audience with as much energy as he could muster, which was a lot! TL had a bunch of hits during their run including "Jailbreak", "The Cowboy Song" and "Whiskey In The Jar", a cover of an old Irish folk song.
Yay!! My 2nd Pic!! 🎶🔥♥️🎉
This whole album is a story of the bands "Jailbreak" and rise to fame. Phil is yet another great bassist singer akin to Sting, Paul McCartney, Getty Lee etc.... Loved this song my whole life especailly the band's guitar duet paired with Lynott's bass!!! Here are some song facts I researched about some key lines in the song below...
Folks in Manchester, England, will tell you "The Boys Are Back In Town" is about the Quality Street Gang, a criminal enterprise not unlike the Mafia. Phil Lynott spent much of his youth in Manchester, where his mom ran a club called the Showbiz. The QSG would often hang out there, always "dressed to kill" (they were so named because of their fashion sense).
A key member of the gang was Jimmy "The Weed" Donnelly, the subject of a song on Thin Lizzy's next album called "Johnny The Fox Meets Jimmy The Weed."
The Dino's Bar And Grill mentioned in the song is probably a real place, but which one is up for debate. Deno's was a Manchester nightclub the Quality Street Gang would frequent; Dino's Lodge was a Hollywood cabaret with a Dean Martin theme (Martin was a business partner). It shows up in the opening credits of the TV series 77 Sunset Strip.
Drink would flow at both establishments, but if you're looking for a place where blood would spill, it was definitely Deno's.
Phil died too young and was a troubled soul. Rest in Peace Bro.
Great reaction video!!! 🎉🎶🔥♥️
A troubled soul? The world is nothing but troubled souls today. Terrible Administration!
The strutting 🕶️, rucking🥊, song of the 70s-80s, man we had it going on 😎
The R&B song the boys are back was done by the band that played at the bar in the movie 48hrs with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy. That song is on that soundtrack. The Busboys they were called. Great tune. And yes, this is a completely different song.
I had forgotten that song, but it's really good. I just downloaded it.
I'm going downtown. I'm going to buy me some new shoes.
Amazing band with sooo many great songs! Phil was a master frontman and song writer.
In 1982 the movie 48 Hours (Eddie Murphy) there was a nightclub scene where The Bus Boys sang a song "The Boys are Back In Town", kind of an old school rock beat. Don't know if that's the song you are thinking of.
dual lead guitars can sound so good together
That's a classic riff and the song has been used in a few places and things, it wouldn't surprise me if you've heard that bit before. Great to see you dancing as always, Angela, great reaction!
Never gets old
Phil Lynott… rocks poet laureate and the coolest lead man ever!
The bands dual guitar sound was their signature.
They have an incredible catalog of music and you should definitely listen to more.
I'm so glad that you reviewed this song..great memories for me.,I'm not a big rock follower but loved Thin Lizzy..the fantastic voice of Phil Lynott..died way too young from drug addiction. He played guitar..sang lead and was the main songwriter..please also check out Whiskey in the Jar..another rock anthem and also Sarah..he wrote it for his daughter..a very different type of song..but absolutely beautiful..bearing in mind he didn't live to see her grow up even more sadness to it..a bit like Time in a Bottle bý Jim Croce ..he wrote it for his new baby but again died way way too young..🇬🇧💞✝️🙏🎶🎵👏👍
Great to see you rockin' out to this classic; a killer riff for sure! 😊
2 Deuling Guitarist and 1 Bass playing lead Singer!!! 🔥🔥🔥
"The Boys are back in town" is a song by 'The BusBoys'! Excellent tune too! They were in the movie '48 Hours' with Eddie Murphy! 🤗
Exactly! That's what she's referring to...
Yes, this is the version i think she is thinking of.
No it's not ❗️ Lizzy wrote this in the 70's . The bus boys may have covered it ? But its not their song .
@@thornbird6768 Yes...same title, different songs though.
You are thinking of The Bus Boys from the Eddie Murphy/Nick Nolte movie "48 Hours". The song was titled "The Boys are Back In Town". Search The Busboys.
Just good ole classic rock right here. Great theme song for the start of summer.
0:46. Your “I’m getting into it vibe is a shoulder slight shake and a side eye look”
This song is very nostalgic for me. I remember always hearing it on the radio in my junior high and high school days!
The Bus Boys had a song with the same title, I believe.
Yup! It ranks right up there as a defining Song of the 80's! They used it in "48 Hours" with Eddie Murphy!
This was a big hit when it first came out on the radio.
The best version of this is on their killer live album Live & Dangerous.
oh my GOD! i loved THIN LIZZY! i hit that like button so fast! Phil Lynott was simply amazing! R.I.P. Brother!
Awesome song!! Thanks Angela!
The other song you were referring to, I'm not sure who sang it but it was in the movie 48Hours with Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte.
You’re thinking of the Bus Boys,”the boys are back in town”. Great tune!
Love that song played that in my😂car a lot when I was younger with the guys when we were going to party 😁👌
This song is about soldiers returning from Vietnam. Also, this band's harmonizing lead guitars were a major influence for Metallica.
Whenever I need a Thin Lizzy fix I always go for live versions, not that studio is bad but live is 10 times better
Only Irish Black dude to front a band, Mr. Lynott was. Really loved the production/playing on this song--The drums are very "crisp and live, the guitar very upfront, quick staccato fills by the bassist. And to save you from going looney-tuney, you're thinking of a likewise named song by 80's blues group the Busboys, used as a soundtrack to the Eddie Murphy/Nick Nolte hit action comedy, " 24 Hours".
I love Thin Lizzy
Scott Gorham was so wonderfully chordic as a guitarist.
The other record you were thinking of, ... Could that have been by The Busboys? They did a song by the same title, but much different (more retro Rock and Blues for the time) featured on the soundtrack for the movie "48 Hours" released in 1982. That film starred Nick Nolte and a young Eddie Murphy. It may have been Murphy's first movie credit. He was still on Saturday Night Live at the time doing his Buckwheat and Gumby impressions.
Thank you so much for featuring Thin Lizzy, I'm so moved to tears
Phil Lynott (The Rocker) is an important page of my youth
He's a very attractive person. I think it's good to dig into him a little
that song is the busboys its in the movie 48hrs with eddie murphy
Maybe your BEST reaction!!🎉🎉
They used to play this when my ship would pull into our homeport of San Diego CA, back in my Navy days.. thanks for sharing
The "Town" in the song is Dublin, Ireland and a friend of mine who lives there says that "Dino's Bar& Grill" is still there and is one of His hangouts. Love the channel. As a song suggestion how about the band Rainbows "All Night Long".
Thin Lizzy are Hard Rock royalty 🤘🤘
I love this whole Album
My brother took me to see them in Brighton way back on a school night as well.
The Blues version (and a different song altogether) was done by a group called The Busboys. Eddie Murphy tried to get them going, but they never really gained any traction.
almost 50K subscriber's!!🎉🎉
Have you every heard Bertie Higgins song called "Key Largo". It is a guilty pleasure type song. Not a musical masterpiece but it gets into your head.
You’re thinking of A similarly-named song by the BusBoys, which was featured in the film 48 Hours
Just dang fun!!
Ah, the one and only Phil Lynott (RIP) and Thin Lizzy....such wonderful memories of the '70's rocking to this and other great music!! 🙋♂ ❤
You are thinking of a song by The Bus Boys with the same title, but different song. I'm guessing you probably know it from the movie "48 Hours" which features the group singing the song in a club. They are an interesting group in their own right with their album "Minimum Wage Rock 'n' Roll", a minor classic that pokes fun at racial stereotypes and the whole class system deal.
MOST under-rated band in history.......True Rock legends....listen to the live version of Rosalie!!!
Great reaction to one of my favorite songs and one of my favorite bands.......If you liked this ne, you'll also love "Jailbreak" and "Don't Believe a Word".by the same band.....would love to see your reaction to one or both of those! RIP Phil Lynott!!
Being a black man born and raised in Ireland, people would usually say dumb ignorant things to Phil, but he always had a witty comeback.
During an interview back in the late 70s, an interviewer asked Phil what it felt like to be black and Irish, to which Phil answered "black and Irish like a pint of Guinness"
Great to see you rockin' out to one of my favourite bands Angela, I think you'd love 'Still In Love With You' from the album Live and Dangerous.
On the blues side of things they have a song called 'Don't believe a word' which is quite rocky but began life as a bluesy track and ex member Gary Moore does a superb blues version I'm sure you'd also enjoy.
I think the band was the Bus Boys, they were in the Eddie Murphy movie 48 hours
TIN Lizzy, as my friend from Drogheda still says.🇮🇪
I think your audience would enjoy their song called Cowboy Song
You must be thinking of the Bus boys song-the Boys are Back In town.
You’re thinking of the Bus boys! The boys are back in town from the Eddie Murphy movie! 48 hours!
The Bus Boys have a song - The Boys Are Back In Town they opened for Eddie Murphy for his Delirious Tour and featured in the beginning.
Bus Boys ....Boys are back in town. 1982 or so from Beverly Hills Cop.
You’re thinking of the Busboys song. Different song, but great.
It was a good year to rock
Your thinking of the song by the bus boys, the boys are back in town..used in the movie 48hrs,w/ Exxie Murphy and nick nolte.....
You are talking about “The Busboys” they appeared in an Eddie Murphy movie
Are you thinking of the Busboys song, The boys are back in Town. Which the band performed in the movie, 48 hours?
I think the line "Won't be long until summer comes" is something we have all said to ourselves.
You’re thinking of The Bus Boys’ “The Boys Are Back In Town”
Song about his mates returning from Vietnam
Get ya knockers down!
We could see right off that you recognized it. and i know what you mean about the song stuck in tour head. BTW I think you already did Garry Moore Still Got The Blues For You. He was in Thin Lizzy for a while
Check out Whisky in the Jar, Cowboy Song and Jail Break....
After we lost Phil, Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy lead guitarist, went solo and recorded “Still Got The Blues”. If you haven’t heard this, you really should, Angela.

Dublin Baby!
Angela.... I recently picked up Thin Lizzy, UK live 1975...This thing kicks major ass... It will even curl your hair...
The Bus Boys did the other version.. You need some Bob Dylan in your life (I recommend pre 1987) - maybe start with "Blowing In The Wind" or "Like A Rolling Stone"
Great song
Got To Give It Up live
You sang the version from Beverly Hills Cop..the movie with Eddie Murphy and nick noltey
phil lynott=legend
Your thinking of High school Musical "Boys are back"
I think the other “boys” song was in an Eddie Murphy. 48 Hrs maybe
The 70’s Darlin.
It simply cannot be touched,or anywhere close, apart from the sexy 60’s.
Shame you missed the twenty year party, what a blast we had.
You're thinking of the song by the Busboys
The song trying to recall is perhaps "The Boys In The Bright White Sports Car" by Trooper

These guy's backed up Queen at the Boston Garden in 1977 and they STOLE the show, and that's not easy to do...What a band they were!
There is a version of this in a Eddie Murphy movie 48hrs I don't know who did it
The Gap Band The Boys are Back
I think it reminds you of the Glenn Frye song boys of summer
The busboys did the boys are back in town 😊
You should hear Phil Lynott in Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of the Worlds. Excellent!
❤
Busboys or something like that made a song called "The Boys Are Back In Town "
Yup- opened for Eddie Murphy in his Stand Up Routines “Delirious” was one
Theres hundreds of christmas songs but only one about the boys being back
Id suggest Dancing in the moonlight or maybe compare Thin Lizzy - Still in love with you to the Sade cover of the song
( Which I honestly thought was your intro music for a few seconds )
HEY THERE KIDDO!!! 😊YOU LOOK AMAZINGLYYYYY AMUSED IN YOUR STILL PHOTO ANGELA 😊LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE ENJOYING THE MUSIC
Rocking good song.Quite a tragedy that Phil Lynott the singer and main man died so young.
Waiting for an alibi is another good one from them.
Listen to Whisky In The Bottle by Thin Lizzy
great tempo
