Yes, giving a sad ending to this story could have also left just as much great impact -as this whole series is about the death of loved ones and how those still living tries to move on from the grief.. However to me, it felt like especially after the fire incident in 2019, KyoAni wanted to give at least our beloved Violet a happy ending. Thank you KyoAni for giving Violet a happy ending. Although I have a bittersweet feeling, knowing Violet will be at peace with Gilbert allows me to let go of this masterpiece.

Its good because now after all that she has been through and knowing sympathy and empathy through peoples own problems, she now can see the problem how Major Gillbert might have felt why he needed to have this distanced life away from everyone. She conveyes that in her last letter that she understands him and that is such a good ending because gillbert can see that she grew up to be everything he wanted she to be ( a beautifull life )
I didn't see what was destroyed tbh.. Rather, it seems like she deserved it, after going through all that bad past and changing ppl lifes with her letter..

didnt ruin her devlopment with the onset of phones auto memories doll wouldve ended. so its nice they stayed together for life
