Hey, I'm the Jakiro that submitted this replay review! Thank you for taking the time to look this over, and thank you for not showing the next 5 minutes of me further destroying my SF's game. I have found my reactions and ability to follow the game/gather information and make use of it being punished WAY more since I have gotten closer to 5k, so having a detailed breakdown of so many of these missed opportunities directly pointed out is really valuable. I don't know if I'll be able to stay in Divine, the pace of play is outside of my normal comfort zone and much more punishing, but I have been watching all your videos trying to improve. In a couple of months when I am more comfortable in my rank I will definitely invest in some coaching/replay analysis because just this short video showed me so much. Thank you!
Don't really understand how you can climb to divine and not feel comfortable in it haha. But just be more aggressive. Biggest problem I have with my supports is it feels like they think their job is to just afk next to me or afk farm small camp and hope I don't die.
I’m waiting for your next comment where you said “ I’m finally in a rank where I feel comfortable .. which is legend bracket . Because this mistake you made seems to happen around this bracket lul
@@johnnychannarong5484 the mistake itself is pretty minor in a vaccume, it just stems from a large mistake which is fundamental misunderstanding of what a support is meant to do.
you need to more conscious of your positioning and map awareness if you want to stay/climb in divine. every rank along the way theres something you will need to adept to climb higher
@@ZQuixotix im glad dota 2 at least has 1 good educational content creator it was so disappointing coming to dota 2 from LOL and seeing this huge gap of content creators until i found this channel (legit had to research about an hour to find you)
I really like this style of: show the mistake, let the viewer try to figure out what it was, then explain it after. gives you time to think instead of having the answers immediately spoonfed to you
Yup, Jakiro is an aggressive support like Ogre Magi. The second an enemy is close to you, you use your breathe since it has an attack speed slow, they wont be able to fight back.
I think the jakiro divine is struggling with the issue of having habit to play defensively. Because as u go up the ranks u slowly start learning go be defensive instead of being agressive and dying because of stupid mistakes, but for him to get to higher skill he need to identify when to play offensive too, he too focused on not dying and not realising and there are moments where he could do alot more if he focused on getting kills.
As a strict pos 5, my lanning stage is near perfect.. Its the rest of the game that I struggled with. I have no idea what to do pass lanning stage aside the obvious like warding dewarding etc
I find your videos supper insightful, ZQuixotix! One of the things that I'm struggling the most is the positioning, a bit like what you discuss here. The worst is when I'm in a mid fight and somehow manage to blank out and think my hero is somewhere it is not and end up dying. Do you have any tips for this hero positioning awareness when there's a lot happening? Thanks!
In this game: lose a lane because of a sentry and creep equilibrium. In my games: lose the lane because your shadow shaman tries to build daedalus as first item, agressively last hits and when you tell him to stop starts feeding into jungling for 30 minutes while constantly insulting you.
Sorry if I sound like a herald but, with the smoke at the start I find it hard to focus of checking enemy inventory while trying to make sure that the second the smoke goes off I can go on the enemy right away with my Q, any recommendations ? cause if I were the Jakiro I would actually also do the same (put down the sentry and check around the small camp + ship out another sentry for the block on the large later if needed)
the only inventories you should check are supports for the first fight, and there isn't much to check for except blood grenade. just focus on the first engagement, then check inventories after you fight. you can also just assume they'll have blood grenade anyway (everyone always does :P)
Hey Zquixotix I can only play ranked on EU servers with 180+ ping, i have done it for years now ( like 6+) and i am used to it, I have found your SB guide and its helped me improve a ton , i used to be ancient5, but now on legend 1, any tips on heroes i could potentially play thats simular where Ping wouldnt have as big of an impact? I found supporting the best, and lately like Clockwerk and Spirit breaker. My best support is also Winter Wyvern
Creep Equilibrium is SF job, not jakiro job. Punishing AA in 5:36 is pretty dangerous since sladar can also come and there's like 0% your SF will come help. You probably will waste blood granade + hp just for tiny harras on AA, but AA can just stay back and heal up. The sladar dying is better than just taking risk harrasing AA hoping sladar didnt come and stun
😂imagine being afraid of slardar lvl2 as jakiro. You must be that typical support that let SF facetank 2 enemy spells just so that you can cast your spell. Stay 2k
@@paullot7256 what are you even talking about.? If sladar and AA go on jakiro can SF do anything? Better to harras and run rather than trying to commit killing AA when sladar can just cover AA and kill you.
Do you know SF has slow on his raze now and jakiro is one of the tankiest support in this game? Slardar is a weak laner AA is a weak laner. If this was SEA supp or supp main that slardar would be jungling by now
@@raymonddicksen2043 you're just assuming the SF won't help but the SF was really close to jakiro and AA was in melee range of jakiro Im 100% players as low as archon would respond to that since it's a free kill
i swear, between 1k to 5k its VERY rare, to get a decent hard support, who knows the basics. but the biggest pro tip is probably, to buy a ton of regen on supp and hit alot. when im playing core and the sky or whatever walks up the wave, to let me eat ***t and i see my support walking full hp circles around the wave, while im desperately trying to get last hits without dying... ive been to 2k and to 5k and its the same everywhere. if you are a dedicated 5, just learn to hit alot and you will gain mmr slowly until you are 6k...
Most of the divine players are like this especially in us west server, no game sense. How many times I lost after winning big time in the lane with a big advantage.
It's shit like this that makes my 65% WR on lane make sense. I feel like all this shit is basic bitch level laning, but this guy got to Divine like this xD
People who play only support 4/5 their entire time is actually much worse players in general, they don't focus on many things which are important even if they seem small and insignificant, they don't have this feeling of being able to carry the game on your shoulders, its easier to play when you have so little responsibility, so it comes with worse plays, me as an main pos 5 who actually switchea for the rest roles from time to time to understand what i need and what i can do, so when i m back in my seat and i see other ppl supporting i feel cringe even tho i do play at decent mmr(7k eu) its just embarrassing how supports usually play like they don't care that much.
Or you're just bias and only take note of all the bad supports you get while overlooking all the good supports you get, while also likely being like this sf and not helping when you should and then being baited when you shouldn't. But hey, aren't we all like this xD
I get you, no doubt. However, I'd take this jakiro over my falcon blade, afk leeching, anti auto attack, Tranquiel boots Treant Protector, any day of the week.

I could've lost that lane in less than 20 sec 💪💪
You kidding? I would loose it in 5s max.
Chad
Bruh I would loss on the picking phase
Hold my beer. I lose the lane everytime I open the Dota client.
My lane is lost days before due to my starting items pre made guide.
All the errors you pointed there I make in a regular basis. I don’t think I ever will have the map awareness to make judgment on the ward.
This was great. Do more short specific situations like this! It was helpful.

Awesome video, Z!!!!! Identifying your match up strengths and their weaknesses are so important!
I like the funny edits. I love that your content is both educational and actually really funny
Interesting insight on this. I don't think I'd have thought to do the lane math on the sentry there. Thanks!

I feel like in Divine there is almost zero difference between auto-filled support players and support mains when it comes to the laneing phase.
