I can honestly say I've never seen anything quite like it...when are the Two Ronnies on? Truth is, it's a little self-indulgent. It's the work of someone who has had a lot of success maybe too easily and thinks she's queen of the world. And in fact, she had already pretty much said what she had to say. Mucho respect though for covering the brilliant Another Day by Roy Harper.
@@fugithegreat True that. Listen carefully at 3:12. A small 'toot' emanates from her backside. Not only unexpected, but with perfect pitch and intonation! She really is a treasure
The mere simplicity of how this has been presented is a joy. No flashing lights, whooping seals in the audience or shouty announcers required. Less is more and lets the music speak for itself.
totally agree...just pure genius and talent. ...whatever was inside her brain i guess we will never know and what we do know is there will never be another Kate Bush...a one off.
You may have missed it, but there actually are three whooping seals in the audience. They were sitting, well, lying, really, in a small tub of water specially placed near the stage for Kate's own amusement. It appealed to her quirky sense of humour to have real 'Christmas seals' at her performance. Of course, later, after the show, she had them ritually slaughtered and their flesh was consumed raw in front of a live studio audience..
I didn’t understand until I tried to learn to sing-more as a physical therapy than anything, don’t ask I can promise it wasn’t because I had any ability, the opposite. But I think mirror neurons must be real. Being newly aware of how mind-blowingly difficult it is to sing the way she does made listening to Wuthering Heights different than before.
I actually saw Kate Bush live on that tour at Manchester Apollo . No support , just Kate Bush doing 2 hour long sets , with an interval between . Still got the programme .
My wife and I were 17 and 20 when we met in 1979 - same year this was broadcast. We've been lifelong fans of Kate ever since - 45 years ago! Where does the time go when you're still in love? 😊
Bumped into her one time (not literally). Was star struck and didn't say anything. She smiled and moved on. That brief moment made my day. One of Britains best and most unique performers and adore her to this day. A big thanks to Dave Gilmour for discovering her.
I worked with someone who studied in England. The KT Bush Band performed in the bar he worked at. The timeline was correct. I guess the closest I ever got to Kate was meeting Peter Gabriel on the "So" tour.
I went out with a girl in 1982-she played Kate Bush all the time-I didn’t get it. Watching this special now-this would be a killer Broadway show….she was ahead of her time…these tunes, the choreography…imagine….

Man with the child in his eyes reminds me so much of 1978 when I was at school and when I first clapped eyes on Kate . Her earlier music is just wow , amazing .
I had the privilege of seeing Kate at Sunderland Empire, I was in the front row. Out of all the concerts I've seen this is the one that I still love the most. Love all her music, no albums the same, always different.
I love most of her music, but one album I can’t stand is The Sensual World. It feels so MOR especially compared to The Dreaming and Hounds. Never liked it. When it came out it shot straight to Number 1 of Biggest Musical Disappointments Of All Time. The Red Shoes was a bit flaky too, but at least the eccentricity was back. The Sensual World sounds like Kim Carnes or Judy Tzuke 🙉

21 years old, with such fully realized vision. And so theatrical, in the best way. Kate defines the term iconoclast while creating music that is undeniably and authentically only her domain.

The queen of my heart, thank you Kate. Brilliant performance especially my favourites Man with the child in his eyes and December will be magic. I was lucky enough to see her at her Before the Dawn shows in 2014 , best night of my life by a mile and she was extraordinary.
Wow , thank you , was like her Palladium stage show , but stand out was Peter Gabriel sitting at electric piano doing “here comes the flood” , all live , all real and totally wonderful , plus Kate doing December live at piano , all the mimed stuff was okay but live is where it shined
It’s hard to believe that Kate was only 15 when she recorded The Man with the child in his eyes. I believe she was even younger when she wrote the lyrics. What an incredible talent.
I saw this as a teenager of 17 on my local NY PBS channel back when it aired and it was my introduction to Kate Bush. I'd never seen anyone perform songs like this before, truly gifted and utterly unique. At the time I was into art rock like Bowie, Roxy Music and others who had a theatrical side. But she came from out of nowhere with her songs, that (then) very high and expressive voice, and -- I think-- phenomenally choreographed performances. It is strange that such an exceptional performer stopped performing for decades at the age of 22 after the tour and this show, but her records have all been great. I have heard she is set to record another one in 2025 (according to an interview with her). Can't wait! Maybe, just maybe one day she will grace the stage again.
Those male dancers are so lucky they got to touch her! This concert actually makes me wish I had learned to dance, although I could have never have danced with a beautiful genius like Kate Bush, or if I did, she wouldn't let me touch her like that today. 😢
