Great song. Love "Cloudbusting", especially since it gained resurgence after her music had been featured on the TV adaptation of "The Handmaid's Tale". She is a very unique artist. A very rare gem.
I have been obsessed with her since I discovered her in the mid nineties and for 30 years of you Addie me who my favorite artist was I'd say Kate Bush and people always said, 'who?". To see her finally getting the wider attention she's always deserved but didn't have in this country for decades is such a trip. Kate's a true original
The thumbnail is the poster I had in my wall as a young girl. She was an inspiration to me. Someone totally unique and unafraid to be themselves. Authentic to the max.
Kate is an enigma, the reason for that is the fact she only appears very rarely and you never know what you're going to get but it's always class, loved this lady since wuthering heights and will do until my dying day.
What are you talking about... She's not an enigma, she gave interviews to promote her work, she left a message every year on her website.... She's just out the limelight.... She doesn't do selfies.... People saw her in restaurant, concert, theatre... Her last TV appearance was in 1993... She can make money without leaving home... With ruthill, she earned 8 million in her sleep...reached 1.3 billion streams.... Her radio interviews are on RUclips...People who work with her, talk... She's not a recluse, an enigma, a witch, a princess, a fairy, an elf, God knows what, she's a musician, songwriter composer PRODUCER.
I remember hearing "Wuthering Heights" first from Pat Benatar. One of my favorite songs from her that I didn't even know was Kate Bush's song. I had never heard of Kate Bush before until I heard her sing "Running Up That Hill" in the 90s. Again, I first heard "Running Up That Hill" from another artist, Placebo. So, when I heard Kate Bush's version I instantly wanted to hear more. That's when I found out about "This Woman's Work" was hers too. I heard Maxwell's version first. This is how her music is everywhere. I spent years listening to her songs on the radio sung by others without even hearing her's first. So incredibly talented and influential in everything she does. The fact, after all this time, people are recognizing how ingrained she is within the music industry and is being recognized and inducted in the RRHOF is a long time coming. I'm so glad that Winona Ryder requested the producers of Stranger Things to use Kate Bush's song for the show. This resurgence and bringing in new fans is what makes music a wonderful art form. Kate Bush deserves it.💖
When she burst on the scene I didn't "get" her, I was about 10 years old. In my teenage years throughout the 80's I guess I saw her as just another power ballad singer- not my thing, but then as I grew up and actually LISTENED and she got me as I realised her brilliance. So much talent. She has the ability to make you feel, a very rare quality indeed, and she is one of those artists I'd love to sit down with, have a cuppa and just talk.
with this, I feel the Rock Hall is finally getting back on track... loved Bush since I first had a friend come zooming over to play Never Forever. Not our usual Sabbath or Rush or Blue Oyster Cult... and I got it right away... (now for King Crimson, please...?)
@JimmyN80 Kate was always surrounded with great musicians. Her first recording band was practically the Alan Parsons Project. Plus, Dave Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Prince etc. She knew what she wanted and most of the time she got it.
Mmmm! As much as I appreciate Saint Vincent’s artistic endeavors especially her prowess on the guitar I have never really seen her as a particularly talented vocalist, effective for what she produces but that’s about it. To put her in front of a Kate Bush song was always going to be a challenge…and Running Up That Hill in head voice. Mmmm!
Her last TV appearance was in 1993. She owes you nothing. She can make money without leaving home. Without ruthill she earned 8 million in her sleep... There are videos and photo of her in America Read at least her wikiped' page. In 2005, to avoid paparazzi, she took the helicopter to leave her home...
One or two hits?! The woman's brought out some of the most influential, genius albums of all time, over 30-40 years. She's adored/worshipped by some of the biggest names in music on the planet, she is *their* idol.
That stupid statement alone lets me know that you don't know Kate's music at all for you to make an embarrassing statement like that. She is highly influential, gets name checked a million times by musicians (especially female musicians in the art pop / alternative genre) as an influence and source of inspiration. Plus, her albums are regularly placed on many greatest albums of all time lists. You need to go sit down somewhere with your BS.
I remember a younger friend telling me about all these great female artists he was listening to. I let him know that they are all copying Kate Bush and that she is the original. Now he knows and can't get enough of her.

About time. Only several decades overdue.
Yes, it's mind boggling the artists that made it be for her....
She probably would be forgotten by them if it weren't for Stranger Things reviving her song.
@@TimeIdle She was nominated enough times before Stranger Things and that song was revived during the 2012 Olympics.

She's not a Diva or an icon... She's singer, songwriter composer, female PRODUCER. A musician... Responsible of her own success.

@oceannablu Too many to chose from. I love "Hello Earth". Majestic.
