    Learning kicking technique is our second step in getting butterfly technique! In the first butterfly technique lesson you have learnt how to do body movements, try to focus on the swimming technique while learning how to kick.
    Correct kicking technique will allow you to swim efficiently and smoothly. First kick should be finished at the same time as the arm stroke. Second kick should be done when hands are entering the water in front. Remember this, while learning the butterfly swimming technique.
    All technical drills that Evgeny Lomtev shows in the video are super useful and will accelerate you learning process. Swim them regularly in your training sessions!

    Today I swam my first 50m butterfly!!! WOOHOOOO!
    The Biggest tip that helped me enduring longer was the pause between the kicks (04:10).
    When I Started adding the pause, I believe that I reduced resistance.
    furthermore, I believe I slide more through water.
    I can't wait to try more of your tips, for instance, the arm stroke!
    But for now I'm sticking with Kicks!

    Hi Evgeny, your videos are very useful, thank you! Isn't it better to move the head up and down in undulating movement instead of keeping it upwards all the time? The body will follow the head movement much easier, and tension of the neck muscles will be less, so less tiring movement - the same as we move the head during a butterfly cycle.

    I Pretty Enjoyed the Land Exercises. It was hard to make it, I had to grab weights to help me reach the ground and to find the support I needed to move my legs and stretch the ankles.
    this is because my flexibility is not quite good, I hope I can improve enough to reach the ground with my bare hands and stretch the ankles :))

    Hi there!!!
    When kicking our legs should not stretch completly, right?
    I'm asking cuz yesterday I had knee pain after 35 minutes doing butterfly. I noticed that opposite to back swimming and crawl I was stretching my legs completly, and as I kick very hard I believe that I'm stressing my knees too much. And in long term I have no doubt that I'll destroy my knees.
    So, the lesson I believe I learned yesterday is to not let my legs stretch completly while kicking, I should stop the descending movement before I get complete extention.
    Can you confirm this is a right thought?

    • @nelsonthekinger
      @nelsonthekinger 5 лет назад

      In your videos I cannot tell if the legs are stretched completly or not cause everybody as different flexibility. But after yesterday I've watched many videos and tgeres are many where I can tell that they are not stretching the legs completly. Including speedos kicking tutorial for butterfly. But as they dont mention this detail, i don't know it it is a unintentional thing or its done intentionally. Really would like to know your thoughts!!
      Cheers

    • @SwimUp
      @SwimUp  5 лет назад +1

      Hello Nelson, I believe you had that problem because when you kick your legs are tense. Try to keep them relaxed and perform only relaxed movements. When you kick too hard, all your muscles are continuously tense and this is why you get the pain. It is not harmful if you stretch your leg (extension) if your movements are relaxed. I recommend to focus on relax swimming movements.

    • @nelsonthekinger
      @nelsonthekinger 5 лет назад

      @@SwimUp Hi Evgeny! I actually was very tense, almost like lifting weights in the gym lol. Today I tried again in a more relaxed manner and it worked out. But I'm still not quite there, I have to practice more!!!
