It's very challenging, i focus on hands..loose hibs...focus on hibs loose legs....focuse on legs...loose breathing...it's very nice every time new mistake....🤣🤣🤣
Today I swam my first 50m butterfly!!! WOOHOOOO! The Biggest tip that helped me enduring longer was the pause between the kicks (04:10). When I Started adding the pause, I believe that I reduced resistance. furthermore, I believe I slide more through water. I can't wait to try more of your tips, for instance, the arm stroke! But for now I'm sticking with Kicks!
I got benefits in synchronization of arm movement and dolphin which is really crucial in butterfly swimming. I will concentrate more on this aspect in my fly workouts. Thanks a lot.
Hi Evgeny, your videos are very useful, thank you! Isn't it better to move the head up and down in undulating movement instead of keeping it upwards all the time? The body will follow the head movement much easier, and tension of the neck muscles will be less, so less tiring movement - the same as we move the head during a butterfly cycle.
i am 40 yrs, i prefer leisure swim, and i combine "frog kick"and butterfly arm stroke" , i just apply one kick when i enter the water , no kick when i fly out the water. and glide longer underwater , it feels good and relax and effortless... if i like i can dive deeper and apply 2 frog kicks underwater which can make me faster..
Thanks Evgeny and Alexander. Another really great video presentation and I look forward to trying the exercises. Did not realise 2nd kit was stronger and good points on reducing drag. The kick drill at end of pool is also hard without fins. So thanks again for the video.
I loved tris video, I”ll do the excersices and thank you very much, all your videos have been the great help for me. I am from México 🇲🇽 City, Saludos 🖖
My god! This is the video i need to perfect my butterfly stroke! Apparently i did the “bending knees too much” mistake. No wonder I feel so tired very quickly. Going to implement everything i learnt from this video next time. Thanks swimmate!!
I've been trying this exercises and they are working, Looks Like I'm Going to butterfly soon! I Pretty Enjoyed the Land Exercises. It was hard to make it, I had to grab weights to help me reach the ground and to find the support I needed to move my legs and stretch the ankles. this is because my flexibility is not quite good, I hope I can improve enough to reach the ground with my bare hands and stretch the ankles :)) I watch your videos always before swimming ehehe THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Hello, Thank you! I am very happy to read that it helps you! Actually, these exercises and swimming drills are best in the world. They will help you to get the best possible technique. Just keep on swimming! 👍
What type of breathing pattern should a 12 yr old have during 100 fly. (Long course) Btw thx for the tutorial. I just suck at butterfly and get tired like every 10 sec.
Im 15 and I usually do every other stroke for the first lap and the 2nd lap I breath every stoke I am trying to get my second lap breathing down though
someone help I have my first highschool meet today as a freshman and my coach put me in the 100 fly after seeing my 50 fly at practice but I don't have the stamina to complete a 100 and not ruin my technique on the second 50
ik i’m really late to this vid lol, but i messed up my lower right back while my coaches were trying to teach me fly, but i never said anything because i thought i would get over it and heal, but after school sports got shut down i still haven’t recovered from it and it really hurts, i’m just wanting to get some tips or remedies to help with it.
Hi there!!! When kicking our legs should not stretch completly, right? I'm asking cuz yesterday I had knee pain after 35 minutes doing butterfly. I noticed that opposite to back swimming and crawl I was stretching my legs completly, and as I kick very hard I believe that I'm stressing my knees too much. And in long term I have no doubt that I'll destroy my knees. So, the lesson I believe I learned yesterday is to not let my legs stretch completly while kicking, I should stop the descending movement before I get complete extention. Can you confirm this is a right thought?
In your videos I cannot tell if the legs are stretched completly or not cause everybody as different flexibility. But after yesterday I've watched many videos and tgeres are many where I can tell that they are not stretching the legs completly. Including speedos kicking tutorial for butterfly. But as they dont mention this detail, i don't know it it is a unintentional thing or its done intentionally. Really would like to know your thoughts!! Cheers
Hello Nelson, I believe you had that problem because when you kick your legs are tense. Try to keep them relaxed and perform only relaxed movements. When you kick too hard, all your muscles are continuously tense and this is why you get the pain. It is not harmful if you stretch your leg (extension) if your movements are relaxed. I recommend to focus on relax swimming movements.
@@SwimUp Hi Evgeny! I actually was very tense, almost like lifting weights in the gym lol. Today I tried again in a more relaxed manner and it worked out. But I'm still not quite there, I have to practice more!!! Thank you for the reply! Happy Swimming!

What do you do if my knees won't allow me to do the first exercise?
Move them up until you feel to much pain
Just being in the sitting position can help
Thanks!!
Is the first kick the one that is done when your arms are entering the water?
I call it second kick. For me, first kick is that when swimmer finishes the arm stroke
