That cam journal is the absolute best for support for bearing removal/install. Perfect match for the bearing! That’s a pretty ingenious tool! I like it !
I bought one of those cheap cam bearing tools a while back and I'm not happy with it...already broke one of the colletts. Maybe I should take some time and do something like this. Great idea and you never cease to impress.
Part No: MOJ no:1. bearing fitting & removal tool. (Made of Junk) you will never stop amazing me with your ingenuity Brent. Well done Mate. Billy J..... Australia
And there you go!!!!! Another tool by Brent. You make things real easy to follow. You certainly have a gift. Hard work puts you ahead of the rest. I don't know when I'll do cam bearings but I am gonna do white Walls. Haha. Great video
your dreams become reality. nothing stopping you cnc operator, cnc programmer, machinist, mechanic, welder, metalsmith., artist, craftsman, designer. How many more trades do you hide in your magic hat Brent ? .
I likes the fact that a junk engine still giving up parts....so one will always say "thats done for" and truth is most have all their pipe plugs for the oil galleys, lots of times the hole in block has nothing to do with the crank, aftermarket oil pump, lifters that were not in the cylinder that sucked a valve and I rebuilt heads that have lost a valve making it "two" good heads when done. Valve springs, big H beam rods, I got in a habit of using new bolts! Even soft plugs (freeze plugs) drain plugs, steel oil pan that needed a corner welded or a hole plugged. Spark plugs even as some plugs are mighty spendy... We didn't have coil packs so distributors, caps, wiring, oil and temp senders..... Now your talking money and we haven't got to all the serpentine belt pulleys or harmonic balancer. And the gingerbread covers that corvette or moroso was on.
Love watching your vids lots of great ideas and spending no money or wasted driving time I am the same way don’t need a engineneering degree just some simple logic and commen sense witch seems to be lost anymore keep up the vids and the good work I also enjoy watching dd later Kozbilt
Nice job on the Cam tool. To bad about the LS engine, would not have happened on a old carb engine. The more parts a system has the more chances of problems. But LS are relatively cheap horse power , as long as a cheap LS supply remains that is. No doubt there are tons of them out there, unless the crusher is taking them.
Sorry think the shipping wouldn't make it worth it. What are do doing it for an ls? you could just use a hole saw to make the rounds parts. pretty much what I would have done if I didn't have the plasma table. If it's a small block chevy then you can use the sprocket bolted on and cut it down.
Damn she's still missing under the full chooch. Lol. Need cam bearing installer ,but heres a dumb question dont you have to line up the holes in the bearings with the holes in the block ?
Ok man thanks for the reply back i must say your a brave soul driving your little truck with one. 9in. Wiper blade with all the snow you get .later h/a
Simple, effective AND made in house. Outstanding!
Thanks man!

haha thanks, but I can't take much credit for it it's been done lots I just used fancier tools to do it.
Amazing how you just think through those situations you find yourself in.There's just a simple solution to just about anything.Good going Brent!
It works. I bought a cam bearing installer for a few hundred years ago. I haven’t used it since. Your way is smarter. I’d say.
Wasn't till I destroyed a set of bearings that I realized a universal bearing tool sucks haha

Yeah my last attempt at cam bearings with one of them tools didn't end so well.

Thanks for checking it out.

Thanks dude!
"Haha..Mint..Look at that shit!" i love it when a homemade tool ACTUALLY works like it was meant to. Keep up the good work, love the videos.
Haha and there was no failed attempts.
GREAT DIY !!! LOVED THE RIDE !!! THANKS !
Love these old videos💚🇬🇧🌱
That, my friend, is outrageous! Just save a ton of money, and made with stuff on hand!!!
haha thanks!
Now we know, Canada produces much more than great comedians !
Haha Thanks

Don't think there much more and I don't think I'm very good at most of those things just consistent haha
That's pretty freaking cool
Great to see your work. Amazing stuff. Thanks for the cool truck ride at the ending of the vid. Truck sounds awesome.
She's still got a miss though lol

love the sound of that truck
Very cool! and you even have a heater demister in the hotrod too cool or hot whatever the case maybe!
haha think your talking about my window defroster device :)
Love the ride along !
Great tip. Another great video 👍👍🇨🇱
Thanks man
No doubt about it, you are the man
Thanks.

That is fantastic. Great job!
Thanks!
Smarts over money. That's a win.

A buddy had a carbed engine and the floats sunk, it hydro locked and blew the head gaskets out kinda the same but not as bad haha
Great job man👍
Nice tool, I built my own also, they work great and save a few bucks😁
I tried a universal tool and it sucked and messed up the bearings.
Sweet! I need this but for a big block Mopar, in which case every bearing is a different diameter. I don't know why, but they are.
That is weird?
Very impressive!
Thanks man.
I have a cam and can weld would u be interested in selling one of those sleeves u made to punch out the cam bearings?

@@HalfassKustoms for a LS, what are the dimensions?
Damn she's still missing under the full chooch. Lol. Need cam bearing installer ,but heres a dumb question dont you have to line up the holes in the bearings with the holes in the block ?
Yeah you do haha this is my junk block that I was just testing the tool on.
Ok man thanks for the reply back i must say your a brave soul driving your little truck with one. 9in. Wiper blade with all the snow you get .later h/a
Also i think that the "full chooch" sounds lika t-shirt get with Dan /ddspd thats funny shit rite there.
Ah you get use to it haha had to drive my model a pickup one winter with bias ply tires haha that sucked
Love it! Nice job
Thanks dude
Impressive as hell man. I've wondered. Do you have a engineering degree? And what kind of work is your normal 9 to 5 ?
IT / computers
Very impressive. Keep up the videos. Love watching them
What Paul said :)
Can I purchase the machined ring at " Brent Tools LLC"? Little Low Cost stuff...
DK Omaha
+1
It's not the destination..
It's the journey.
nice! with a 3d printer you could print a cone to center it like the real tool!
Haha I have one, good idea was wondering how i was gonna do that
I have had bad luck with putting the bearing back in so put them in the freezer and warm the block with a propane torch they slip right in
Thats sounds pretty good but think they may not fit on my tool after haha
Yeah u dont need the tool just some glove so u dont get frost bite
Works Minty!
Haha surprise myself most of the time.
awesome
thats cool
How much do you charge for them? Haha nice video and nice tools sir
I would buy one of these haha
Nice job
U got yo the first cam bearing, but show how to do the rest of them with that tool !!!!🤔
Yea the bores get smaller towards the middle
Cleaver 😀
New cam bearings are 30 bucks and have 200,000 less miles on them. An install tool plus new bearings cost less than a lathe and cnc plasma.
Sure beats the hell out of buying a tool from snap on it probably cost 5oo bucks way to go
haha the only snap on thing I have I found on the road :)
Nes
MINT!!
Good job man feels good!
