I would not take out or change a single thing in Manacled. Yes, it is a very long worth reading book. I feel that Everything in this book is needed for you to understand the characters better. The situations that they have to deal with and the choices they have to make. This book is breathtaking. It's so beautifully written. ❤

I finished reading manacled after I wanted to get back into reading and briefly remembered everyone talking about it on tiktok. I tried to explain it to one of my friends but she hadnt even read Harry Potter at all so it didn’t make sense to her and after my 10 minutes of voice memos explaining she was too confused 🤣 We turned on this video and it automatically felt like another girl in the friend group was explaining it perfectly. Hi there! I just wanted to thank you for this video. I very rarely leave comments on anything, but I figured I should drop one on this. About a couple of months ago, I grabbed lunch with an old friend from university, and we started talking about books we've been reading since we last saw each other (which was more than a year at that point). She then started talking about HP fanfiction, and was raving about Manacled. For some context, I'm a guy who's not really into fanfiction. I mostly read "boring" stuff like the shit that would be in a high school or university curriculum (much to my friend's disappointment lol). I'm also admittedly not the biggest HP fan. I read the books when they were at the height of their popularity and I watched the movies, but I've stopped engaging with the franchise after that. However, while I will likely not read SenLinYu's work, I did promise my friend that I'll at least watch a synopsis or a literary analysis of it. I then completely forgot about that promise until about a month ago. I was listening to my Spotify playlist at work, and Kendrick's Not Like Us came up (I got pretty invested in the beef, as Kendrick's one of my GOATs). Out of everything that could've reminded me of my promise, it was Kendrick's line in the third verse (about chains/slaves/Atlanta) that made me remember about Manacled lmao, so I figured I should look for a video online about it. I randomly picked this video because I figured that a 1 hour analysis was a good enough summary of the first few sections of the fanfic. However, I started getting a bit invested halfway through this first video, so I just said fuck it and watched your Parts 2 and 3 videos as well. Anyway, your three videos were a delight to watch. The way you've enthusiastically described Manacled must mean SenLinYu did the HP universe justice with their work. Also, it's really cool that The Handmaid's Tale was a huge inspiration for Manacled (as a Canadian, Margaret Atwood is one of our best exports). I really appreciate the efforts you've taken to summarize and express your thoughts on Manacled. Also, I sincerely apologize for the long comment! In case you haven’t heard, Manacled is officially getting turned into a real published standalone book called Alchemised! It’s planned to release in 2025. Follow the author for more info. I’m personally very curious to how it’s going to get turned into a standalone thing since the HP world and magic system and lore are such a huge part of the plot of the book - I’ll definitely be buying it when it gets published. Look into it when it comes out; the writing and arc and plot are genuinely SO well-made that if you’re caught up on the “fan fiction” of it all and can’t get immersed, give the standalone a shot!

Oh, you should definitely read it before watching these videos. You can’t spoil it for yourself. It really is that good it can be dark but it’s just so well written, and the story is just so good.
I cannot remember that in any of the books it was said you really need to want it when you use avada kedrava. Bellatrix says that about crucio...where did I miss that information?
