- I get asked all the time for more unedited motorcycle onboard footage of my rides, so thought I'd give you some of my favourite rides in the Picos de Europa from last years ChickenStrips Picos motorcycle tour.

I have to say I really enjoyed this more than I thought. I do like the banter and wouldn’t want to loose the traditional vids but I’d be really keen for this style to be an additional option. Really liked it your lad did well❤

25 odd minutes in we got the first "look at that" (© TeaPotOne) and both my girlfriend and I laughed. Love the edit, great job on showing the maps and the roads. Bit more banter wouldn't hurt, but then I guess we're spoilt with years of great and often hilarious content. Please keep it up mate. 😁

Thanks. Just preparing (new to me) R1200R LC for Santander this Wednesday. 2 days Picos, Leon, Burgos, Cuenca then home to Moraira. Will compare Picos routing you kindly shared.

Bruce for someone like me who rides in Spain this type of video is invaluable. Often on tour Vids you see nice roads to ride but have no clue where they are. I sat with this vid (while recovering from hip replacement 😂). And redlined my Spain map now I can refer back to it any time I want to do some route planning. Thanks. Oh one thing that I find helpful is the zoomed out map view to give overall context and perhaps zoom out a little farther right at the end of the particular route. 😊

Heading back for my 4th visit to the Picos soon and always looking for new roads to explore so find this type of video with the road numbers shown very helpful. Keep up the good work and maybe see you out there one of these days. see

And we were thinking you’d be talking all the time, it’s weird to not hear you talking? 😂
I guess there is an audience for this type of videos, for me, I like the commentary and bantering to get more immersed into what you are experiencing. I tried watching vids from other creators that were without talking, but somehow I get bored a bit after 5 minutes. But that might be just me. I think it could be a good idea to try this for a while and have these videos for people that want to see more of the roads you drive on these trips and not let good footage go to waste.

Aye it’s weird as I don’t usually film anything in between all the talking - I usually turn the cameras on, have a quick chat, then turn them off, and I do that throughout the day.
However on this trip for whatever reason, I filmed long stints with no talking, I don’t know why, I just did. When my son was editing the vids he mentioned that it may be worth doing something with the plain onboard content, so we gave this a try.
Doesn’t seem to be doing very well in terms of views or retention though sadly 🤷♂️👍

Man i was riding my 1250 yesterday in the Eiffel when a engine management failure occured. Had to get it towed and go home to Holland on the pillon of my dads bike a day early 😢

The inclusion of the map was cool. What might have been better would be a commentary introduction to each section with a zoomed in focus on the map to provide some geographic relation to the locale.
Give that lad a job! Excellent and a really useful reference tool. If it could be pinned to stay near the surface on the channel even better.
De la Reina section looks very Scottish the way all those hills come together.

I like having the maps. Makes more sense than a commentary of roads numbers = maybe I'm dumb but find Spanish road numbers confusingly inconsistent.

No, but he’s been on the back of my bikes before when he was wee - he’s 26 now

Putting up the maps is great, but are you giving away to much information for free as the best way to find these great roads is to book on one of your trips?
Aye there’s an element of that - but the people who come on my tours do it for the craic. The type of folk who just want the routes for free, are not the type of people I want on the tours to be honest 👍

Nice vid although I miss your comments 😉 Maybe could rename « best northern Spain roads » : you are going quite far from the Picos for some of these ✌️Unfortunately too far from our stay in Infantado next summer (more convenient for us to stay in one place rather than riding every day with the tractor fully loaded, especially when the roads invite you to ride … uh … with more enthusiasm 🫣 Thx for sharing again 👍

It cool to watch the landscape and flora motr yjasmn ion yjr normal tightly cut vids.
Also, good training for those looking to polish up on road reading. Vanishing points, path prediction etc.

Awesome! I do think though that commentary over the vid would be good. Just to explain where your are going, who's with you etc. I really want to go to the picos now.

@@teapotone maybe instead of commentary you could have music, that always works well
@firestorm755 - no that actually kills vids, I used to have a lot more music/montage/drone type content, but people just either abandoned the vid or skipped passed it - you can see it in the vid retention and analytics. That’s why I try to keep that type of content very short and abrupt these days

Nah, it’s their holiday bud - I’m there to film and document their trip, have a laugh and enjoy the company.
I try to get everyone on film at some point through the day, if not the week, so I get to move up and down the group throughout the rides. Sometimes there can be quite a gap between riders so I get my fun then 👍
A lot of this video seems to be in 2nd and 3rd gear on a GS. Would it not be more fun on a 125 - 500? The Picos de Europa are close to Santander, so can be enjoyed without big mileages. I am hoping to take my Honda ADV350 there and base myself in a central location, and just ride out daily. The Asturian coast is nearby with beautiful villages and beaches.
