Great to see these glimpses of the real China. After my 2 extensive visits in 2015 I came home and tried to communicate my positive feelings about China and its people and culture to people here. It mainly falls on deaf ears. I love what you are doing and am somewhat encouraged that you have over 100,000 subscribers seeing what you see. Thankyou
Living in China for decades, I feel that the biggest change is that the rivers and streams have become clean and clear. The situation of sewage flowing across the river and all kinds of garbage floating on the river has completely disappeared.
We have people that wade out into the flood control "river" by my home in Nanhu International Subdivision and clean out any debris or stuck logs. When it floods they also remove the heavy sand sediment that deposits in the walkways. That has to be a tough job.
The get it done attitude is completely different than the west. The west just talk about it. And if anything is good, they brag about it. If it is bad, they blame it on someone else.
You may have made the bike tour on your own, but rest assured there will be thousands of happy viewers to accompany you, living vicariously in front of their computer screen. Thanks, always a pleasure!
Hi Katherine, this is going to be awesome joining you on this trip. It is so comforting to know that you have no issues at all doing this alone and that you know that you will be safe and loved by the people you meet on the way. I am sure you will be invited to many rural home. Have a great journey and keep well.....watching you forever from Europe.
What a thoughtful comment! It brings back memories of when I first drove across the border from Canada to the US. I vividly recall the kind advice given to me by the US customs officer, who advised me to avoid using gas stations in the city after dark. on the other hand, I have no safety concerns in China or Canada......
The scenery at 5:04 is truly beautiful. At 6:36 you say: "these geese are standing...". Noooo - they are there waiting to greet you, can't you tell, Katherine!
Awesome accomplishment! 你真厉害! From one American in China to another... thanks for such a great video showcasing the beauty of China. Inspiring me to do a similar trip.
I wish I was you Katherine 😂 Its heartening to see how many environmental improvements have been carried out in recent years. I hope they continue to preserve the traditional canal dustricts. And yes, driving to an expensive gym to walk on a treadmill really eptimises wastefulness...
Though i dont know Katherine personally but I've watched so many of her videos and so i kinda know her character and personality and so IMHO she should run for US president.. She will bring peace and harmony to this world.
The best part of your videos is your sense of humor, I barely made it to 2:00 mark when I had to rewind to hear the karaoke entrance award part for second time.
Wonderful video! I think that this bike tour will be fantastic, as it allows you to get to know many different places and people better. Anyway take care and have a great tour! Thank you very much for sharing this awesome adventure.
Excellent reporting Katherine with the beautiful, tranquil scenery & clean alley ways , rivers/lakes . Truly your an inspiration to all foreigners or expats of different ethnic background to see China in a loving , peaceful way promoting cooperation, ecological projects making it a success story ! More success.
Well delivered Katherine. Love your narration and how you put these pieces together. China is looking spectacular in the suburbs. A 180 cleanup of that section of the globe. Nature enhances the scenery after humans take responsibility. It's a beautiful landscape with a rich history of environmental changes. Definitely, I'd like to see the farming island too. Maybe a bonus after you get through your 2000km journey 🤔 🏊 (kidding). Thanks for sharing. You're an awesome and beautiful individual. Looking forward to your next video ❤️. -S.Lim
Your videos remind me of my perception of China as a kid, when I would go back to visit. Just wonder about all the alleyways, buildings, rivers, people. It's very nostalgic. Thank you.
We see you riding your red stallion, beautiful and interesting places, natural surroundings, a little interaction with locals, some animals especially a chicken…yup, definitely a witty Katherine’s video we missed so much! :D
Katherine is back on the road.🚲😎 I'm looking forward to the many new videos with drama, fun, joy and adventure from China. Have fun with these great adventures, all the best 1920 KM to go ➡
after watching so many different youtubers, i have determined your videos give me the most updated and accurate description of the places you have visited(april 17??) thank you, and much appreciated. love from canada.
Wow! This is epic! You are one adventurous lady Katherine! D detours are so interesting. Rural China can be so interesting. Keep it up and keep us updated on your adventure!
That's so cool! Love seeing your journey. My husband and I just got home from a night time bike ride along the Qinhuai river here in Nanjing. We were also saying how nice the river parks are! Love that about China!
Hi Kat, nice to see you again. It's always fun to watch your (no longer little) adventures and bike tours. Its like being there with you. Looking forward to your next upload.
Tianjin-born American here, I really appreciate the chill but still interesting content! It's kind of like keeping in touch with a friend that still lives in China and it relieves my homesickness :)
Best wish, thank you for sharing to your wonderful 2000km biking journey around the province in the EAST. Adventure and courage, Kat, you are amazing!!
So happy & excited to watch your video, I been waiting for your new journey update! Again thank you very much, Katherine. It's really educational watching your adventure from the other side of the podium. Greeting from Seattle Washington. & stay safe always!
Hi Katherine, I know that China is the safest country, but, I still remind you to put the safety first, and enjoy your journey! A Chinese is watching you from Canada.
Missed your rural China trips. This one looks epic! Hope to do a trip like this in my parents' home province of Guangzhou in the future and discover their home towns. I only have a picture of my mother's old family home.
Thanks for your video! Your bike looks good. Be sure always wearing the helmet when you are biking. My helmet (s) save my life at least twice (I don't know why it's so easy that my head always hits the ground in a serious cycling accident.). If your bike is not a e-bike, please make sure you have good foods with both nutrition and energy, and have a good rest day after several days bike ride in a row. All the best, good luck and have fun!
Great editing and storytelling. So glad foreigners like Katherine is documenting the progress of the lives of the average Chinese citizens, showing the real, albeit non-glamorous, side of China. Great job!
When I visited Hangzhou 34 years ago, there were no high buildings nor sky scrapers. The river was not so clean neither. I have one the best memories from the city.
Please be extra careful. Not because of bad people but the unpredictable traffic. My ex-sister-in-law got involved with a hit and run while cycling in Suzhou 2 months ago. Fortunately she’s mostly ok now although still with memory lost. Be extra vigilant. Many followers will be with you all the way. Enjoy.
The key rule to driving (or biking) in China is to be able to stop at any time, for anything. I recently bought a motorcycle and at times it feels like real life GTA.
You can get extra padding on bike seats that don't look awkward. Super comfort and makes the journey enjoyable. Nice scenery. My dream of visiting will be a bike ride like this. Nice one.
Whao, 2,000 km is like travelling throughout west Malaysia.. But how you manage between work and travel. So much could see by cycling than traveling on a car. Have a safe and pleasant training.❤
Great idea of a "concept bike trip"! Hope you collected a lot of old photos to make comparisons along the way. Show them to the local people, old and young, and hear what they have to say about the past 20 years, and what another 20 years might look like into the future.
Cool adventure ride~ Cycling long distances consecutively though is definitely a challenge. They did a really good job cleaning and revamping the river.👍 Maybe in between the adventure you can squeeze in a segment to show what equipment you brought along for your Vlog apart from your GoPro. That drone shot is pretty cool~ As usual, stay safe and hope to see your next update~👍👍
I love many things in China and that's where I came from. I love the fact that people use park to exercise, singing, playing music in Chinese cities but I absolutely hate that they use megaphone to amplify their music and singing to bother others. Another thing I cannot stand is stores and shopping stands' using recording device to non-stop broadcasting of what they sell. These are 2 of the biggest pet peeves I have about China.

YES, CHINA IS NOTED FOR BEING A SAFE PLACE. U CANNOT DO THIS IN MANY OTHER COUNTRIES. BECAUSE U CAN GET MURDERED,. BE RAPED.
Thanks for showing us the real China, stay safe and be careful with those sometimes unpredictable traffic situation

Please don't try this in the USA if you're female.
Much better than the frog Dai🐸island in the southeast of Mainland China! I was thankful I wasn't born in that island!
浙江的“五水共治“ 工程,是非常好的。 这些年,绿水青山就是金山银山的理念越来越深入浙江人民心中。 农民都很注意环保 ,农村也是家家户户垃圾分类
This is so cool, I'm coming to China later this year to study in Xiamen and this is giving me ideas for the summer holidays!
Xiamen is dope! Very nice place with nice beaches, but summer can get quite hot though lol.
May I ask what you will be studying? I checked your channel and you don't seem like a typical student.
you can vist Jinmen Island(Taiwan rule), 9 miles from Xiamen, but need a Taiwan VISA
Things couldn't be better
Xiamen is much better than the Kinmen island controlled by Taiwan Officals!

Epic bike tour indeed. 😁its like biking throught a dreamland for me 😁🥰 your humourus way of speaking is my healing. ❤
Wow wow that’s really awesome, it’s better than Netflix ❤ wish you all the best, have a safe ride around Zhenjiang province.

Katherine, you are living my dream that I can only…dream of. Salute to you. God speed, ride safely, and keep making videos. What a beautiful country.
Amazing country.true.from indonesia
非常羡慕浙江的同学们,有山有河有海,环境好,随便一个河滩都是绝美露营地,争取下个月去安吉露营一次。
Look out for cars at the traffic roads and take a slow ride.
Enjoy yourself, it must be an awesome trip, expect your vlogs🥰🥰🥰
The best part of your videos is your sense of humor, I barely made it to 2:00 mark when I had to rewind to hear the karaoke entrance award part for second time.
This is EXACTLY the kind of video that you excel in. Your naturally positive vibe and demeanor shine through in an otherwise mundane bike tour.
Happy Mother's Day, Miss Katherine. ❤
It's a fine and cool weather to ride a bike for ling distances.
Everyday should be a mother's day. She is not yet a mother, okay???
This is incredible, great job and great video ❤❤

this video was such a treat katherine, thank you!
No worries about the length of time to update as 2000km is a good way to put the wheels in motion.
You know how to bike the bike.
Definitely worth the wait! I'm so exited for this series, it's so ambitious 👏👏. Good for you! ❤🧡
Just adore your enthusiasm, as well as all of you videos.
Yay cant wait to see the rest of this trip. Hope you have a great time and thank you for having us along.
You're not alone. We (me and everyone else on youtube and other platform) who care about you are riding along with you.

Amazing journey! Safe biking!!
Never knew Shaoxing was so scenic, thanks for sharing!
Sabrina from Jamaica in hangzhou either😮, also she is a vlogger.
Amazing adventure for an amazing reason and by an amazing person! Wish I could have ridden with you!

Hello Katherine. So happy to see you're back. Looking forward to joining you on your long trip. Good luck and stay safe.
Another great piece! Only wish you had few more old footages to reflect 20yrs changes!
Nice to see you back again, looking forward to this trip, probably almost as much as you were!
Great video. Keep them coming
stunning views, great experience. Seems that you are really fond of animals.
All the best!
Cheers to you and thanks for bringing us along for the ride.
Be safe❤
Wish you a smooth, safe, healthy long trip🎉
Good to see back on the road. Enjoy!
Hope to see you taking on more biking trips such as from Chengdu to Lhasa.
I'd support another Chengdu trip
Really a long time no see, glad to see you again. Sometimes I feel like I really miss you glad to see you again and congratulations.

Haha, indeed😂. But it is improving, people are aware and opposing those behaviours.
Better then drugs and violence. I will tale a loud megaphone over a mass shooter any day.
Those 2 are in the same category. Noise pollution. 😅
yes!
We Chinese also hate people who play the trumpet in public.
My ancestors left China five generations ago. Ironic that it takes a "Westerner" to reintroduce China to me. And it is a positive picture. Thank you.
