My employees treat me like the big bad wolf and do their best to avoid me. I figured since my being there was such a burden for them Id just stay away. The coolest thing is Ann B Davis (Alice) was the wholesome glue that kept those kids out of trouble on set. Its why you never heard of them getting in serious trouble..In essense, she was the real life Alice.
Florence Henderson was pretty motherly too. It was the actor who played Mike that could be a problem as he thought doing a family sitcom was beneath him. However, he did get closer to the kids as the show went on. Even taking them out on his boat during weekends,

This was one of only two episodes that Robert Reed didn't appear in due to his continuous conflicts with the script and story lines. The other was Hair-Brained Scheme. However, though he had differences with the producers, he actually really bonded with the kids. He would take them on outings, buy them gifts, and really enjoyed their company.

I guess they were short on actors. On Three's Company, there was one actor who played a restaurant owner, a dentist and a psychiatrist. Same actor, three different characters.
Alice was such a great actress she'll be sadly missed. When Alice said to Mr foster these are the Brady's he said marvellous and these are the customers perhaps I should arrange a time for to spend more time with them all day if you get the point.
That poor guy is still waiting for his order to this day 🤣 If you watched the series closely, he was also the same guy who was engineering the Davy Jones singing session, and he was one of the proud parents in the episode where Bobby is in the ice cream eating contest.

I kind of wonder what their fruit cup looks like. A cup with different fruits in it? Or one of those mini cups with the juice inside and peelable cap?
The restaurant manager didn't seem to realize that the Brady kids were customers, too. She appeared to be the only waitress on duty, she could only handle one order at a time and there were six of them ordering food.

Robert Reed refused to appear in this episode on the premise that Alice would never have left the family just because the kids were upset with her over such a minor thing. (They thought she was squealing about little accidents or misdeeds they had caused, even though she was not). It was so awkward when Alice said good bye to just Carol even though it was Mike who had hired her and who knew her for a much longer time.

A short time later a customer barges into things when he can see she's waiting on a table. A thankless job. She then walks out, leaving the boss with no waitress and for the customers to make their own food. There's also a safety hazard in the restaurant. There was a stool between the front door and beside the booth the Brady kids were sitting at, that Alice just happened to pull in front of the booth to sit with the kids. Customers could have easily walked into it and fell. Personal injury lawsuits from this could bankrupt the place.
Very unprofessional manager! You don't admonish an employee in front of guests! It's embarrassing and inappropriate! If she was taking too long at a table or blatantly slacking off by sitting down, he should have asked to talk to her, pulled her aside, and then firmly instructed her to stand up and get back to work.
....ironic, that Alice would wear the SAME uniform that Linda Lavin's 'Alice' would wear in 1976! ..ha-HAAA! (0:31) ...The Manager & customers harpin' on Alice (1:32) are to indicate that she's more nurturing & caring to CHILDREN, than demanding, rude ADULTS (2:48) ....goes to show, you never know what ya GOT....(3:20)

As a kid we first thought the tv show 'Alice' was about Alice from The Brady Bunch. Only we thought that Flo was Alice because of the similar hairstyle.

And the actress who played Flo in that movie, the wonderful Diane Ladd, would play Belle on the sitcom "Alice" after the character of Flo was written out of the show (actress Polly Holliday got her own show, "Flo", which quickly failed) but Ladd didn't even last a whole season because she supposedly didn't enjoy being on the show. You mentioned the hairstyle ... I love Flo's strawberry blonde beehive do. And her catch-phrase "Kiss my grits!"
This show was before my time but my mom watched it when she was a kid and put me onto it. I remember seeing this episode as a kid and would eventually work in the restaurant business and it was no different where i was working compared to how this manager was acting. My mom would eventually pass away back in 2019 and when i went to tell the job what happend and they were as cold as ever about it saying “they then had to find people to cover my shifts”. In other words what they did here in this episode with the restaurant manager being a prick is what its like working in that business

The fact that a busy diner doesn't bother to secure the bottom of the blinds from flapping on the door just irks me.
