There is plenty of cone, just can't see much of it from the front. It makes full use of the mounting depth. Sundown Audio is no fan of compromises.
Not a sundown fan but I like the changes they are making, this woofer looks very high quality

I liked the older surround, it was more rounded and looked meaner.
never seen any company out package Sundown, my PLANET AUDIO BB212D's shipped in half inch thick wood cases that where in a cardboard box, I still use the cases to hold other stuff to this day.
drop it from 6ft with the sub in it, sundown threw a box with a x12 in it like 10ft in the air, no damage.. they also played it after.. it's on the RUclips page.. "unofficial sundown audio" is there page

I got over 2500 rms going to mine, I can barely get the clipping light to flash.. it's on a skv2.2500 @1ohm rated 2900wrms.. I've seen 4k go to 1, but u gotta be careful and keep it clean

I've upgraded the subs 2 12" ZV5s
I got 1 x12 on stetsom 5k wired at 4 ohms so im giving it about 3500w dont clip at all keeping it clean
Hey I'm new to all of this basshead stuff but I've been looking and finally have the money but am limited on space, I was wondering which would be a better "bang for my buck"??? 4 Sundown SA 12"s DVC D2's? or 2 Sundown x12 v.2 DVC D2's?. Which will be louder and give me the advantage with a Hifonics Colossus pro5k 2 channel monoblock amp? (It's a monoblock because both channels are the same and bridgeable down to 2ohms. Any suggestions??? Budget build for $1350 tops! Thanks!

I've been debating on getting 2 of these and I saw that they can come with an "SPL spider and co e". What's the difference between just get the stock stuff rather then the SPL?
spl soft parts will play higher frequencies way better.. the stock x12 cuts off around 65/70hz unless u tune high but then u can't play as low.. higher frequency rattles your brain good at 70hz
WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD AMP FOR THIS SPEAKER???? I'm not trying to have CAR SHOW BASS but something that hits hard

I can't get past that Sundown under rates their subs I'm guessing for warranty reasons. I find it hard to believe that monster sub only does 500 more watts rms than a Alpine Type R.....yeah right. :-)
on a clean signal they will handle 2000+ rms with no problems.
Exactly my point. I feel like they way underrate their subs so they can get out of a lot of warranty claims. "I was putting 2000 watts to it clean" Well it's only rated for 1500 sorry no warranty.

It’s not about the wattage. It’s about the dynamics the box the efficiency that makes it similar rms to the sub you mentioned but still wayyyy louder

that's how everyone should rate their woofers clipped power at like 10v on a terrible amplifier I have a baby soundqubed hds212 and it takes all of my ct sounds 1400.1 at 1 ohm with a singer 240 holding 13.6 at full tilt clean power but the second I clip it it gets stinky clean power or no power

Possibly but it depends if they warranty it, if you blow the sub because you ran more power then rated to it you void it instantly. Don't ever void warranty's it can save you a lot of money. lol

my x12 has a sticker right on the sub that says built in America... the recently started making the X subs and up in house, everything below the X series is China still...

not all jl is made in usa, only the w6 and w7 I believe, and only there best amp, everything else is not made in usa..
all sundown subs from the x series and up are all hand made in USA now.. my x12 has built in America all over it
