Bobby came by to show me the newest 8" Relentless sub and the super heavy duty grill he is about to release. I figured i would play with it a little bit and show it to you guys. As busy as the shop has been it feels good to take a few minutes to slap the hell out of a subwoofer. I pushed this thing to it's limit's and it wouldn't break. I didn't try to break it but most subs would not have survived what i was doing to this little thing. It didn't even get warm at all! The new grill is no joke either, you are not going to damage or dent that thing in with your foot. At least not accidently. Even on purpose would be very hard! Anyway, thanks for watching if you did! Looks like Gately is still one of the leaders with 8s and truck game. I still wanna see a good high wattage door enclosure based 6 for sql and sq that doesn't mean choppin half your door off, aka 0.3- 0.6.
Where does the DD 2508G , G7, and B2 stands with this 8" subwoofer?
I don't know but I was able to do 138 db at 29hz on my 2508g supercharged the bass it makes its insane ima do another box tomorrow hopefully I get 140 out of it which I did almost but at a higher frequency.
@smurfeco2.358 nice how many 2508 subs you had 2 doing the 138db how many cubes net is your box? I been debating on which 8s I wanna run under my seat ported. Was looking at 2 2508gs I can only run 2 correctly ported since there like a 9" really. But was told I would be louder running 4 8s like 4 sa v3 8s or U8s or and other 4 8 setup that requires like .5cu to .85cu net per. Which I can get 3.5cu net rating my seats and using every inch available

I've got that same sub in a Gately 1 cubic foot wooden box with no grill powered by a Soundqubed S1-1250 S Series amp @ 1 ohm, everybody that hears it thinks it's a 10 or 12in. I'm pretty happy with it.
That sub and cover is a piece of art i would love to have 2 to put in my truck but my ass to broke for that lol. Those things bang. It looks so beautiful in that acrylic box.
Back in high school a buddy of mine had like 8 or 10 8"s and it hit SO hard. Its what got me into car audio.

I love it but it's very similar to my zvx-8...Im sure build quality is ten-fold better but the cost difference removes any chance Id get one.

I think to this day the baddest sub was the sub you stood on while it was playing and it never skipped a beat. For sure subs and technology have come a long way. Glad to see you keeping ahead of the technology not falling behind like most people.

A Gately Acrylic starts at 2,500. Custom .....6-7K to start. But worth every penny.
Putting the protective cover impedes the air movement from full to what ever the holes/grill allows, so i prefer to leave the grill as an option i won't take since protection isn't a concern and sound maximization is the goal.

yeah, those subgrill will not flex and ring. I dont understand why there aint more of these grills for subs with much xmax. So easy to just shove something in them if you have them in the trunk for example

it's a box that Bobby made for me (as mentioned in the video). Contact him if you want one for your 18. But bring the $ because acrylic boxes are not for budget shoppers (not saying you are, just letting you know)

Hi, I have a question, I had a sedan sub in trunk faceing the back of the car, it waz a monster also at 52hz, I have a small car now citroen c2 but after 41hz i test tone it it is very very weak no music basically like trrrr no boom, box is 2.5cubic feet 1 sub but i tried diferent boxes same resault, I like high frequencys thank you
No bass below 41 hz or above 41 hz?
Below it is fine, it is a monster but after 41hz only rtttrtt no boom it is maybe cabin gain everything alse is checked

Hey i got a question how can you power such a little subwoofer with such an big amp and not destroy it because i got told that the level of the amp has nothing to do with the rms power of the amp so the amp is much stronger than the sub
If for example a amp has 20,000w rms into 1 ohm power, and the sub could take 5,000w rms at 1ohm and you turn up the power to max you would certainly blow the sub easily, but if you use just quarter power, the amp wouldn’t blow the speaker because it gives 5,000w. Normally you would use a amp that has a higher power rating than the speaker to not challenge the amp and have the risk of clipping which could destroy your speaker.

@@RickVNPN No clipping is when the signal wave gets stretched to much (make the signal louder) it will clip, which is when the signal wave flatens at the top (the amp hasn't enough power to put out the signal). This flattened top wave kills your speakers because they need to stand still at the pro /retracting position. Distortion can also be when the output and input power is low. This mostly happenes when the power source is not clean DC power. Example: A clean DC power signal is when the line is completely flat. Now it can get distorted to have small jumps in it (often times comes from bad quality transformators but also from bad quality cables...). This wouldn't usually destroy your speaker but you would have some noise in the output.

i don't typically like grills either. But if i had a situation where i needed one, this will protect the sub like no other. That being said, it doesn't come with it and you don't have to buy it if you don't want it.
