Bobby brought me his new 8" Relentless 8" sub. He told me he was planning on giving me one for a display in my shop. I didn't know i was getting this badass box also! This thing is a straight up masterpiece! Thanks Bobby!
I was looking at his boxes this morning, always a good day when a new SMD video uploads. Looking onlime for an AMM-1, and they seem to be sold out everywhere! Except one shop in NV, but i dont deal with them after my last order from there. Thanks for the upload Steve!
brotha, ive watched you for about 12 years now and you always surprise me with more knowledge!!! thank you bud, much love. also cheers to many more years ahead. great work, awesome guy, keep up the great work.
Yeah those acrylic boxes are super top im notch 💯 PERCENT but if u made ur acrylic box pardon me for not doing my homework but u 2 are like geniuses of box making u guys are perfectionist and i think that is so awesome because expensive or not at least when somebody comes to you for car audio they know they're definitely going to get something special and get a good deal ok i rambled on enough but i was just speaking the truth (✌🏽💪🏽🔈✌🏽💪🏽🔉✌🏽💪🏽🔊)
LOVE IT!!! The craftsmanship on that box is STELLAR! And for some reason (idk why?) as I've gotten older I've become a huge fan of 10in and, even moreso, 8in subs!?
I just put 2 g2 dynamic G8's in my wife's Jetta, threw in a taramps smart 3k and a nice custom 28hz birch box. Can't wait to hear them when they're broken in
Man that's a nice box. I would really like to know what glue is keeping it together. I've built a couple acrylic boxes. They hold together but you can see the glue.
Badass lil 8" , but DAYUM that box is slick. Not a single spec of adhesive residue anywhere ( that shows up in the video anyways) and flawless bonds all the way around. Hell, even the port baffle is perfect!
Would love to see him actually build something tuned low for today’s popular tracks. Enclosure is pretty but…. Like you said 41Hz. Please Bobby give him a 15” tuned nice and low. 27Hz or lower.
i had an idea to do an acrylic box for a single cab. id like to see if anyone has bent acrylic using a heater coil or heat gun and a tube to focus the heat where the bend needs to be. im buding a jig to make identical angles. and more ¾ acrylic prices are still ridiculous for a trial and error attempt...id buy if anyone can quality/custom builds them
Looks like he forms a dam around the edge of the bottom panel, arranges the logos in place, then pours in acrylic casting resin to fill it in. Quite stunning end result.
The logos are lazer etched into the top of the bottom acrylic panel and then they add whatever different color resin on the bottom side like you said, and with the led strips in the base the logos light up
@@bobbyackerson4125 They look like they have more depth for a 3D effect than just a simple laser engraving. Could be CNC router but hard for me to tell on camera. I didn't have the tech and machines these guys do back in the day when I used to do this stuff. It was all by hand.
Would love to see glitter inside.. I'm not even into glitter, but it would be awesome to see the air moving it all around, I wonder if you made a tiny box inside the box, that has a couple little holes if glitter would get sucked out.. was just thinking maybe also metallic flake inside a closed box, would the magnet move it around?
Love how he shows proper tuning in most every demo test video despite how repetitive it seems to regular viewers, it's always good to practice repetition anyway. I for one never really get tired of seeing it done. Videos of improperly tuned systems always make me cringe a bit.
it's one of Antheny (my son's) beats. We are about to get serious about dropping this basshead CD. We have so many beats that just need to be mixed/mastered we can probably do 3 albums. Just slappers!
I'm confused on how this box is built? Is it extruded of something? Someone in the comments said maybe they heated the acrylic to do those bends? It seems very very rigid. It's amazing how thick the walls are Jesus it's a work of art.
@@meade916 i build custom aquariums out of this stuff. all it is, is thick ass acrylic that has been "welded" together with acrylic weld-on. it breaks down the acrylic on a molecular level and permanently bonds them. that's how i am able to make seamless water tight aquariums out of it. also why it is good for subwoofer boxes. after you get all of that done you router the edges to make it clean and round and then come in with a torch to heat polish it. its quite extensive, but man the finished product sure does look amazing. keep doing your thing😎 @meade916
Great video Steve!!! 👌👌👌 That box is simply beautiful!!! That box is fire my brother!!! 🔥🔥🔥 If I was to own one I would love for the LED lights to turn in different multiple colors while it's bumping!!! I could just imagine how two real powerful 12" subs would be slamming in that kind of box in a vehicle!!! 🤔🤔🤔
whenever you slow down the video, my speaker starts clipping.. I think the frequency gets to low for the little bluetooth speaker im using whenever you put it in slomo
It never bottomed out no but the box is designed to played in a vehicle with a surface to load off of and in a wide open shop like this you have nothing to load the woofer it would sound completely different in a trunk of a car or a hatch of an suv

Those 8s did not bottom out at all and they are taking the power real good. Even at 20 hz and below.. I need to check those Gately subs out for my next build!
no bottoming out, probably listening to port noise as i play WAY BELOW tuning just to get the sub flexing. Another little known fact that a lot of you might not know. At tuning, at the subs LOUDEST point, it is barely moving at all. So woofer flex is cool but that is usually a sign you are playing lower than you should. It's always fun to look at so long as the sub survives though :D

Reminds me of the Lucas oil display at autoparts store
Box looks amazing! Bobby is the best in the biz hands down. Awesome vid brother! 👍
Bobby is Sick With It!! That box is off the chain!!
Gately makes these special order, they’re awesome. I think I’m gonna have one built.
I just saw this sub last week on their ebay store. My dream set up would be two of these in an acrylic box. Absolutely Love the carbon fiber cone!!
Im amazed at the craftmanship badass no joke
That’s a piece of art. Love it.
Wow. Love this. Beautiful box. Small footprint. Very impressive
Rumor has it.. 8's can hit just a hard a a quality 12'',
This is a beautiful build man.
Hands down the nicest box for an 8 I've ever seen. Love the way they did the edges, that was not an easy or cheap box to make
That's gorgeous! Nothing but the best!
perfect mix , a looktrue enclosure and a smal sub that needs to be seen , i just love modern 8"subs
my first system was powered by 2 8in subs. then, people went size crazy. it good to know you can still have great performance by a smaller woofer.
thats a really awesome looking acrylic enclosure and a pretty beefy 8 inch

That is so badass you can see the subwoofers clear box.😏😁😃
Gateley master peace 🤤🔥
Bobby is out here killin' the game
Impressive. Over 900 Watts with music. Doesn't even complain.
CLEAN box
To be fair, I ran my Sundown SA8 D2 V3 on 900w RMS daily, and my U15 on 3k daily, I can only assume that Relentless 8 can do the equivalent.
That really is some nice acrylic work....
That's a badass little box. And the quality of the work done on it is amazing
