Should be plug and play up to 2007. If the airbag light comes on and stays on it might need programmed. The One I did was in a 2006 and it worked without needing anything done to it.
question is , do you think you will ever use the short chrome socket again and also , was it a special order or quickly accessible ? ponder that question and you will most likely come to the solution . great vid , thank you .
The socket was not deep enough and I returned it, the airbag module was available from my local pull a part, and the sockets needed to pull the seats my local parts store had them in stock.
I don’t think so, the only reason that it would need to be programmed is if the airbag light comes on and stays on, then you would need to have it programmed, the experience I’ve had with them has been plug and play.
@@ranger.auto.repair Thanks. I’m experiencing a “service airbag” lamp and message that has progressed into intermittent dash/gauge/control failures. I believe my airbag module is corroded and needs replacement as my driver floor is always wet.
Well the quick test would be to pull the fuses for the various modules one at a time and whichever fuse disables the offending module is where the problem is, note of caution, some modules like the body module require programming so you will need to talk to a dealership service department or anyone who does module repair for help if it’s a module that requires programming.
Amazing video, riveting. Thanks
Does the replacement SDM just "work" or does it have to be programmed in a 2000 GMC Sierra 2500?

so did it need programmed being a used module
Surprisingly no it didn’t, apparently the reprogramming doesn’t kick in until 07 or 08.
If you purchase a brand new module does it have to be re-programmed?
