Did it fix the leak? Would have like to see it run
It did fix the leak! I’m sorry I didn’t film that part, I was in a time crunch that day.
You loosened the dog bone motor mount but did you loosened the other 2 motor mounts?
No, I didn’t need to.
I don't know why you did all that I took mine out from the bottom....
I did it that way because it’s easier for me to get it done. Didn’t take long and you don’t end up with an alternator in your head.
I did mine with a harbor freight support bar
Thanks God bless you
Neat video! This would have come in handy. I just did all 4 lines on an ‘89 Lesabre; nearly identical, but mine is a non-ABS car.
The only video to fix my CArs problem...👍
Flex fuel sensor location?
I have a 2004 z71 my question is , is the check engine light supposed to illuminate when starting because mine doesn't like in the video , and I have codes for u1000 and u1096 ,
Thank you.
@Ranger I tried every step you did in the video the VCX nano and turned on the tech to and went through the steps until I got to a error after choosing connect to the Transmission module and it said I got the error messages “CANdi module was not detected for Tech2 (or MDI is not connected to Tech2Win. Is there something by I did wrong?
You did it right, I had that error message also, it’s because the nano is a pile, the whole process would work better if you have an actual Candi module or the mdi box to use as a pass through, I had to update all of it a lot to get it to work, when it does work, it’s pretty good.
@ so what do I need to update to get it to work
Let the acdelco tds do its updates, then go into the nano software and there’s a selection that says check for updates. You might have to look at the screen and see what the software is wanting updated.
So you trust walker catalytic converters over the others ? OEM will be the best, then magnaflow. I wanna know how they hold up,
I agree that OE would be best, they’re hard to get. Walker is about as bad as magnaflow I think the same company owns them, the reason the original equipment is hard to find is because the converter is supposed to last the life of the car..so if you go by that logic when the converter fails you scrap the car..so because nobody is gonna do that we have to trust the aftermarket, there’s stuff you can do to make sure it will be a good converter.
I got the same thing going on 2006 chevy silverado 5.3 battery ligth and park light stays in next day battery dead
1300 no lights besides that everything seems to work fine it says low voltage so I’m confused what issues I could have , I had the window open and it did get slightly went on the inside and I have a small leak at third break light
I have eedm596fk
How do I sync the different modules? What if I just unplugged them do I still need to sync them but how do I do that?
I’m not sure they can be synced, if you’ve got a bad module it may or may not need to be programmed to the bcm.
Why the radio won’t come on in a 1997 ford explorer
Check the fuse, if it worked before and stopped working it’s probably the fuse.
Thanks
Nice diagnosis and work Ranger. I always listen and enjoy your teaching and sharing..Thanks Much.
Got a 95 Mazda B2300. Had a map sensor code. I've read it don't have one. It's obd2
95 is still OBD1, regardless of computer platform, most trucks have a manifold pressure sensor (map) the code for map is often confused for the mass airflow sensor, which on that truck should be on the airbox before the snorkel tube going to the throttle body. Manifold sensors are usually screwed to or a part of the intake manifold, around the throttle body, if you don’t have one then your truck wasn’t designed for one. I’m pretty sure it’s mass airflow though.
@ranger.auto.repair thanks. It's obd2. I've had codes read many times and they can't use OBD1 scanner. It has a speed sensor on transmission as well. I've had the argument many times with ppl saying it's OBD1 and it's not. Most code readers have to check for a 96 to get the codes but the reader will say it's a 95. It's one of those trucks that was made in the transition part of 95 where they was switching from 1 to 2
Thank u for the short to the point video ur the best
Thanks, I know I can do it myself
Thank you!
Dude you are a great mechanic. I have an alternater out on my 06 DTS and was a mechanic my whole life but have a lot of health problems now at 68, I realized that lm not the one to change this. Thanks for all the DTS videos
You’re very welcome!!
🙏 thank you
Bravo my friend! Very good video. Do you happen to know where the knocksensor is on thhese cars?
I would rather pull a motor than do this again
Oh it’s not that bad.. you must’ve had some bolts break or something…the joys of being a ford owner (said no one ever)
I don’t why people watch video and they don’t smash like , I do because it’s an inter video
Thank you!
When you say dieseling, does that mean it engine fires when turning it off?
Yes when you turn off the car and it still wants to run or is running is called dieseling. It’s when there’s excess fuel in the combustion chamber at the time the ignition is shut off.
Thanks 🎉
Thanks bro
its daylight savings. Thank you! I am curious how you use the 6 disc changer.
I just got the p0420 on 2016 verano 2.4. I guess I'm trying the cat cleaner before going for new cat and o² sensor.
Before you do that, open the pipe at the connector at the bottom of the front converter and make sure the substrate is still in the top converter and it’s in tact, then check the bend in the flex pipe for a white substance, if both sides are clear then put the pipe together, there’s a bulletin from GM that says that the ground for the coils need to be checked for corrosion and damage, the ground is G104 located on the block behind the starter. I’ve made a video on this and it should be out this week.
Thanks fella 👍
CAn you plug the coolant temp sensor back in without removing the crossmember? I just got done reinstalling everything and found your video trying to figure out where this extra plug goes 😬
As far as I remember yes, it’s a bear to do but it can be done, I tried to connect it while I had the crossover out but I ended up disconnecting it by mistake.
I’m working on this job at the moment. My dust seal at the axle tube just set into place. Are they supposed to be pressed in or does it just sit there? I tried tapping it in and it acted like it was bottomed out
Thanks 👍
Did my timing belt twice the other day. A 2 hr job took me half a day.
Wow! I did the timing belt on my wife’s Kia and I don’t remember how long it took, it’s a lot like doing the ones in the ford 2.0 spi engines.
how do you lower the ding ding sound when door open for 2010 DTS?
As far as I know it’s not adjustable, the tech 2 doesn’t have an option, your stuck with it lol
Damn!! The part of was looking for was how you removed the axel from the wheel bearing splines. 🥹🥹🥹
Getting the axle out of the knuckle varies on these, if there’s enough room you pull the tie rod end and swing it out and away.
Thank you I’ve the same problem haven’t been able to figure it out . I’ll go redo .
I’m still having issues with mine, I’m going to call my local dealership and get the springs and everything from them. I’ll do an update video on it.
I just pressed what I call “The Ball Joint From Hell”. It took 4 days of hammering the knuckle, a pickle fork, setting the ball joint on fire from too much heat, and finally a running start with a 12lb sledge to get it separated from the knuckle. When the steering knuckle let loose, it shot off the car and hit the frame with force. All this effort to just press out the ball joint and have part of the control arm go with it…. RIP. Here we are.
Yep those ball joints are a bugger I went through the same thing.
Awesome
It was fun for me even with the springs still had a lot of fun northern sells the spring pliers and good quality vs harbor freight 14 dollar breaks first time from what I heard so I bought northerns it also has attachment on the pliers no extra tools or dollars
Btw northern sells the spring pliers for about 11 dollars and good quality vs harbor freight 14 and breaks
i just completed the install, car sounds smooth like it had a tune-up, but its blowing white smoke out of the tailpipes and it smell like gas and it's gas gauge is going down fast? I'm thinking the fuel injectors?
Yep sounds like a great place to start, those north stars are a bear to do injectors on, look for a P052x code (I think that’s it) or you might be able to smell the bad injector.
I have been watching your video as far as removing that stupid bracket... started at 12 here it is 3... I got it all prepped for when the new oil pan comes... but it's all out of the car now, thanks for the help.
Thank you for making this video.
You said the dust seal is also a stabilizer for the axle. ??? It can't be. But good vid.
Hey boss. Would this work for a ZX2? You know, different engine, maybe something changes?
@@krlos_amg to my knowledge this works with zx2 I haven’t had much time working on those however the process is the same.
