Memorial Stadium seated 72,000 back in the 1970's. A lot of renovations have reduced capacity. One because of chair back seats, two because new exits have to be built due to fire regulations.
This is after a 100 million renovation in the south end zone two years and 100 million on the east side in 2019. The south end zone included a full football performance center..
Thus the reason Mizzou joined the SEC: winning profit sharing. They have more money now that they are splitting the winning revenue with the rest of the conference.
You said that Mizzou has been planning this for a while; right now it does not look bad. I like their stadium. I've been there in person, it has plenty of brick and glass, and the other end zone where the new coaches offices, work out area, and player development area looks great.
One of the renderings for Mizzou that you showed is the South Endzone renovation they completed a few years back. Nothing is being renovated there since it’s so new. Wish they’d match both sides size wise so it would be a complete symmetrical bowl. Bugs me that the stadium will still be smaller than when they were in the Big 12
Kansas actually is demolishing the old one and building a new stadium. And it’s downsizing in capacity. I’m hearing they are struggling with funding on it too lol
Interesting that you nothing about Missouri football and the stadium. The Rock M is part of a long term tradition, they renovated the of the South end zone a few years ago, this new renovation is the North end zone as it is known.Mizzou has decided to start opening the purse strings, I graduated many years ago and they had good teams(60s) but never spent the money like they could have but didn't.This renovation is due to complete in 2026 which is the 100th anniversary of the stadium.
kansas completely tore their stadium DOWN. It'll be a totally new stadium. They aren't even playing home games in Lawrence this coming season. It was originally built around WW1.
Great video but just some clarification. Only one end zone is getting done. The other was completed in 2019 so they are not touching that side. Just the end zone with the M is being renovated
Unfortunately the 250M won’t make a dent in making education more affordable. This is paid for by the sports revenue. Instead of Missouri dumping lotto earnings, tax on gambling, and weed tax into positions coffers, put it towards to degrees that industry is hiring for.
Arrowhead and Busch Stadium remodels, new stadium for the Royals, new soccer stadium in St Louis recently built and now this… Missouri, the show me the money state!!!
There’s not much we can do after this is built. Every direction of the stadium has been renovated since we got into the SEC now except the east side with the press box
@@TrueSon4419 yea you’re right. That’s what we should do next because it’s gonna look pretty small now compared to the rest of the stadium. I would love to have some general admission seats up there instead of just premium seating to make it louder

I wish they would add a lot more seats for fans. We need to increase the capacity to be in line with the bigger stadiums. The more fans the lauder it is the better it is. Who doesn't want to play in front of a 100,000 screaming fans?
Mizzou just renovated the other end zone three years ago, so they are not “doing something to both end zones”. Also, Kansas tore down their existing stadium and is building a new stadium that is 12,000 seats SMALLER than what they had, so they are NOT doing a “massive expansion” as stated in the video. Guy needs to do his homework before just throwing things out on video.
Unless you increase capacity SIGNIFICANTLY, this is not a serious program that wants to win year in and year out. Increase the stadium to a capacity that approaches some of the elite programs in college football. At least START at around 77,000 and then revisit another increase in 3 to 5 years. Our goal should eventually be around 85,000 to 92,000 thousand. If you are a winning program, the crowd will come watch you play football.
There are still a lot of P-4 schools that need stadium upgrades. Maryland is right at the top of the list. The Rose Bowl ( home of UCLA) is another that is in bad need of a renovation.
This guy doesn’t know what he is talking about. The south end zone is brand new. Several of the images shown are not even of the stadium as it looks today. This project is only of the North end zone.
I’m a Missouri fan. Been to the stadium many times. This renovation of the north end zone is long overdue. I love it and will definitely buy seats in this area once completed. Go Tigers!!
They've made Missouri's largest city, Kansas City, their own. UMKC has dropped the UM from their uniforms. KU will play home games this season at Arrowhead stadium in KCMO.
The north end zone was completely re done a few years ago so this just completes the look. Also that grass patch is a huge tradition at mizzou, there’d be riots if they got rid of it
Dude. You get a lot of information wrong. They are not adding nothing to the Kansas stadium. It's literally a completely brand new stadium that's getting built on top of the old stadium site. That's why when it comes to the Kansas project. I'll be careful using "renovation" When it's actually not.
