Only 225bhp with a k24/k20 frank isn't much... Unless it's whp. Still sounds kind of low, don't you agree? Most will make around 240-270bhp with a frank.
@@JLee-bz4kh it's not a frank, it's k24a3 engine with it's original cams, only vtc gear replaced to 45degree ;) this month ill place Kelfords DIC, ktuned ramhorn, intake with velocity stack, so i hope for a better numbers, we'll see :)

@@JLee-bz4kh well k20a2 head aint that much better, the thing which brings power with it is Cams (k20a2 cams gives better performance at higher rpm), we have already tested that ;) k20a head is better for porting as it has more "meat" to shave, thats it ;) if to compare bone stock heads, the best would be k20z1, then k20z3 or k20z4, but still there wont be a huge difference if you keep it all stock :) i have a built engine too, which is waiting for its time too :D
Great DIY! I did the same thing 10 year ago! Didn't shorten the trumpets (to have low rpm power) but cut the resonator from the inside!! I think its better because you create a big plenum! If you have a spare RSR try it!
well i did it to have better air flow ;) resonator box is made to reduce "itb" sound effect ;) It's not my first manifold which ive done :) but over all higher hp number at the top will be made with ported rrc or rbc manfolds
@@ShedBuilds If you keep the resonator but cut the cover from the inside wall (and not the outside as you did) you are making a big plenum. A 2.0lt high rev engine needs up to a 3.0lt plenum. In that way you have a equalised amount of air in all 4 cylinders. You don't wan't the closest to the inlet cylinder, with more air. Unfortunatelly when i did mine a also did other mods so i don't have any dyno figure
Exhaust manifold on its own is not about top end power, I bet you gained significantly more than that in the mid range. Seen them make between 30-40bhp in the mid at only 220bhp peak. So for everyday driving that would improve it greatly. Seen an EP3 one make nearly 60bhp in his midrange unlocked by the manifold along with his other mods. To get the most from breathing mods it’s about a decent CAI intake mounting in the inner wing, an Good flow ported manifold and throttle body and a decent set of cams 🤘
Nicely done. Keep us updated with the dyno figures. Im guessing if you were to pay someone to do this the labour would amount to more than buying an RRC.
Thnx, I'm waiting too. Prices: Intake manifold was 130€ (ussualy it costs ~200-250€); Welding|cutting|porting I think that would be something around 300€, I'll offer that service after I'm done with mine. ;) RRC is great, but pricy and in the end I would probably still need to port it too. My new engine will be k20/k24frank with a bit higher cr than stock so larger plenum than rrc and ported runners should give "some" torque and power 🙃
Where did you get the thicker gasket from ? for the resonator chamber ? Great work :) I ported my rsp and added a fd2 tb my afrs went from 12.6 wot to 13.5-13.6 so more fuel was required.
we cut it from same plastic as hondata thermal gaskets are made, I also had aluminum one 10mm thinkness, but those are too expensive to make. Soon we will have custom cover, so there wont be any need for that gasket.
@@ShedBuilds oh I figured i mean isn’t it needed when doing this porting job on the Rsp intake manifolds!? I am thinking about doing an Rsp Intake manifold Porting same like this video reason i ask!! Thanks!
theory works this way: The longer the effective runer path the batter for low-end torque. The shorter the path the higher the overall resonance frequency pushing to higher rpm. Shorter the path improves throttle response. Shorter the path the less time for fuel mixing at atomization at high rpms.
One hole is a bit off, so you can do in two ways. 1) drill a new hole on tb to mach manifold or 2) fully weld manifold and make a new bolt pattern on it, which I did, because my tb was expensive 😀
