I want to eat your Pancrease, Your Lie in April,Suzume no Tojimari,Weathering with you, Garden of Words All of These are masterpieces if you guys haven't watched them yet I would prefer to watch them and you will like each one of them. Thanks for the reaction again❤
Someone commented on RUclips saying that "A Silent Voice" is not a story about a guy falling in love with a girl, It's about a guy being able to love himself again, and he couldn't sum up the movie better. It's nice to watch shows to have fun but sometimes we should take a moment and experience something like that, a story that teaches us empathy, and forgiveness, making us more human.
People always say this like there are zero romantic undertones throughout the entire movie. Obviously it's not the main focus at all, but they BOTH exist. I would argue that the romantic undertones they have for eachother amplify their guilt for one another.
Yeah, but more than the purposeful removal of a romantic element to “elevate” the value of the movie, what bothered me was the erasure or lack of acknowledgment of the female co-protagonist, who had as much as an inner life and a complete journey in the story.
Wanted to point out that the little girl who started crying when the main character said she was also part of the bullying really was part of the bullying. Saying it because she fooled you guys and a lot of other people. That’s how sneaky she was. She was laughing and hanging with them when they bullied her, also she noticed in choir class that the girl was watching her to know when to start so she opened her mouth as if she was going to sing when she wasn’t and made her sing out loud by herself and embarrassed her. She was sneaky with it but she was definitely part of the problem. Also he didn’t bully her to stop being bullied. That transition gets a lot of people confused but it’s showing that after they got caught and in trouble for bullying her they all made him the scapegoat and started bullying him instead now. So they were his friends first then after they got caught they started bullying him.
Yeah, she did the choir thing to make it look like she's offering help. She's all about keeping a good image as class president. Whenever her image felt threatened, she'll cry, like when Shoya called her out. Also when highschool when Shoya was saying he's not the only one who's responsible, Kawai made out a scene in the class and blurted out Shoya's secret to everyone, including her boyfriend, to avert the besmirching off her. She also apologizes to Shoya after because her boyfriend told her to do so (that guy is understanding and cool btw).
You see the main guy was not the only bully. I especially hated the girl who started crying when she was blamed even though she was very well a part of the bullying. Most of all I despise the teacher for keeping quiet when it happened and only after the principal was involved he pointed fingers. He handled the situation so badly, he knew more were involved yet he singled out one who then ended up being bullied as well.
UGGG I hate that teacher with a passion. And yeah Kawai didn't necessarily behave the worst out of the kids, but her way of handling it afterwards is infuriating.
Forgiving yourself is way harder than forgiving other people.. In fact, a lot of the trauma we have is due to feelings of guilt for the things we have done. We are the ones who always blame ourselves. We always set high standards for ourselves. That's why it's so hard to love yourself..
In 29:10 nishimiya was saying that "she wanted to die" in sign language. I don't understand why in the movie they do not translate such an important moment. Also when she said "I love you" Ishida understood "the moon" because they have a similar pronunciation in Japanese.
And I don't remember if it is explained in the movie or not but the reason why Yuzuru took pictures of dead animals was to scare nishimiya and show her what death looks like.
For those of us who are not usually aware of the existence of deaf and dumb people, It is difficult for them to communicate their intentions. I think it has the effect of giving viewers that kind of frustration.
It's intentional. There are scenes throughout this film in which the makers intentionally omitted the subtitles for the JSL lines. The author of the original manga said in an interview that the main theme of the story is the difficulty in communication because there are various ways to convey thoughts and feelings that matter but are not necessarily obvious to the receiving end. Thus the title in Japanese: The Shape of Voice. The KyoAni people wanted the audience to experience being the receiving end of such important communication (but without help). In a couple of the scenes, it was only after learning JSL I fully comprehended the significance of what was being signed.
@@alanlewis3177i think she says it to her mom right after nishimya tries to jump, they’re looking at the pictures on the wall and she says that she thought maybe if she saw what death looked like she would stop saying she wants to die
The group scene on the bridge hurts so much to watch when you see it from Shoko's perspective. Ishida talks into his arms the whole time and says blunt things that push everyone to leave. She can't hear what he's saying, so she doesn't know what's going on and can only helplessly watch. And then he lifts his head, and talks to her as if nothing is wrong.
This ending still to this day makes me cry. I don't know if they are tears of sadness or happiness but I've never had any other show or movie like it so it holds an extremely special place in my heart.
He did not bully her so that he won't be bullied. He was bullied after he bullied her. He wasn't the only one who participated in the bullying, others who were a part made him take all the blame. Later he developed some sort of trauma i suppose and felt guilty and ashamed to the point of comitting suicide.
Nah you have it wrong.. He was bullied and so he took to bullying because that is better than being bullied. Not that it is ever right. I like this movie specifically because it isn't a dumb zero sum game. It handles the situation with empathy.. Giving you a glimpse of why someone does what they do and learning to accept your mistakes, forgive yourself and try to be better. Also the ignorant way in which you discard his trauma is astonishing. He literally couldn't look people in the eye. The movie even put big crosses no people's faces so that people understand what is happening. Also the movie even shows him feeling guilty for his actions, but he wanted to be the "cool kid" of the class and being a bully seemingly did it for him. This movie is not even subtle and yet you didn't get any of it. Surprise surprise most bullies are this character. While it is fine and dandy to put out PSAs that say "Bullying is bad Mkay", that is just a symptom. This movie is one of my favorites because it acknowledges the evil and yet it shows that maybe there is more to the picture.
@@thefonz8373 They ain't got it wrong. He only started getting bullied after he'd been "thrown under the bus"/scapegoated for bullying Shoko(which he did because he saw everyone else being unhappy about the "burden" she was on them and he wanted to make them feel better at Shoko's expense). His former friends bullied him as payback for him trying to call them out on their part in bullying Shoko, which none of them wanted to take any accountability for. When you seem him soaked in the water getting bullied is the same day he came home soaking wet when his mom got the call from the school. The editing just makes it disjointed and easily mixed up(trying to give a glimpse of the consequences of his actions before revealing how he got scapegoated). Shoya got bullied after being a bully, but not for being a bully. He was bullied for trying to rat the rest of them out(even though they were perfectly fine with letting him take all the blame, bunch of hypocrites), and him being a bully to Shoko prior was a convenient weapon to use against him when they bullied him.
This was my first anime movie and I cried so hard. At the time, I was going through the same thing Shouya was going through: Anxiety, depression... So this movie helped me a lot. I still face the same things but not as much as I used to so I'm going to keep on fighting!
Shoko crying at the hospital and the ending always get me. It's a perfect representation of despair and relief. Seeing that hope you never even could have imagined before.
The fact that the two main characters also voiced popular characters like Yor SpyXFamily, Shinobu Demon Slayer etc.. and the male lead voiced Haku Spirited Away, Suga Haikyuu… etc
Sahara, the girl who wanted to be friends with Shoko but was bullied into leaving, later appearing from another school, was played by *_Yui Ishikawa_* (Mikasa, Violet Evergarden, 2B, etc).
The confession scene, IYKYK: Skipped over from the manga Shoko confessed to Ishida because he gave her the pouch that Ueno gave him, but there was a note inside that he did not know about. The note said something along the lines of, "I have always loved you." Shoko, who now has feelings for Ishida, then confessed those feelings. It works out because he has always been fascinated by her (that's why he is so fixated on her), and I can't remember if he even finds out about the note later on. We don't know why it was skipped either, a lot of people feel jarred by it and think it comes out of nowhere but that is why :)
This never fails to make me cry, especially the very end where he's able to properly see everyone around him and hear that they're just talking and being in their own world and not talking about him or anything, it's my favourite anime movie by far.
"Why do they recommend sad movies?" ~Ange I think there's something about seeing other people moved by the same things that move us that brings us closer to humanity, to each other.
@@AngelCaroline9don’t think too much about it, these are people who don’t try to understand that both Kawaii and Ueno had their own struggles and both were also at a point in their life when they couldn’t understand how to change but at the end of it, it became clear to both Kawaii and Ueno that they can be better. I honestly don’t hate Ueno or Kawaii because both are great depictions of humans.
Thank you for taking the time to react to this beautiful movie. I've been following you both for three years now and your reactions never disappoint. I'm really happy for the both of you and can't wait to see more reactions from you guys. Keep up the amazing vids :)
I was verbal bullied in elementary by my "used to be friend" and was isolated in uni after stop hang out with 2 most powerful girls of my class so I feel so relate to this movie. I cried so much, it's so painful to watch. My social anxiety become worse day by day, it's so hard to communicate and I have no confident. The only thing keeping me not to kill myself is I dont want my parents to suffer from sadness
I couldn't believe my eyes at first, then I re-read the title and I was like : yuuup my next 1 hour is occupied now with re-watching my absolute FAVORITE movie! I'm so glad you guys picked this one up! There are plenty of other great movies similar to this one too! Much love~ ! ♥
I had a best friend like her(Little deaf and mute) in 1st and 2nd standard and she left school. So this movie made me so emotional and i cried a lot because i connected to it a lot.
My favorite of the 3 is Spirited Away. When I was watching it for the FIRST time, I felt a sense of nostalgia. And by the end, everything felt so magical -- I don't know if there's a word that describes that feeling but it had me wishing I could stumble upon a magical place, be lost (maybe also meet interesting/otherwordly people), and have a magical adventure like the movie Bridge to Terabithia from 2007! If I was in Chihiro's place, I would've chosen to stay (with Zeniba, her place is really home-y). My favorite scene of the movie was during the train ride, it was just so peaceful and everything looked so beautiful.
Actually Ueno (the bully girl in black hair) is more passable for me cuz atleast she is genuine and straightforward, unlike Kawai(the girl with glasses) who is playng victim eventhou she is one of the bully and the most hate of her is she never said sorry to anyone and until the end of the story she never change. . . Atleast Ueno always treat Nishimiya as rival and treat as an equal.
I used to think the same way but now I think Ueno could’ve caused more emotional and psychological damage. Ya she was genuine and straightforward but that doesn’t really make it any better. I can’t imagine what Nishimiya went through emotionally and psychologically because of all those bad things she said to her face. Would you rather have someone who is really mean and physically abusive but is being truthful or someone who fakes being nice to you and is secretly mean to you behind your back? Everyone is different so people will be affected differently.
@Roy-ml5fn for someone who are not aware (mostly) of it surrounding (and gullible) then maybe yes but for someone who progressively becomes better (specially in confidence) like Nishimiya in the near future then Kawai is the worst person sticking around worse than a enemy who is being honest to themselves and alowkey admitting their own short coming. And yes I would gladly take those who directly against me than someone whos a pokerface backstabbing person. Ps. Ueno was never bullied Nishimiya in physical and the only became physical towards her in 1 ) ferris wheel where she feels ridicule cuz she admitted to Ueno she hates her and declare her still a person she equal and rival( just rewatch that part. And 2) where Ishida got hurt becuz of her and . . Just rewatch that part too and re think those words she said toward Shoko.
@@keidecifer5895 I think most people was not understanding Ueno since they already hate her and don't even care to listen to her. One thing that Ueno keep saying is, the reason why she does not like Shoko is because Shoko didn't face her true feeling and just try to solve all problems by apologising and belittle herself. Like everytime she faces a conflict, she instantly say sorry, just like after her hearing aid got threw out of window, she say sorry to Ishida. Also when she was bullied, she still tell Ishida she want to be friend with him. Ueno is very honest to herself, therefore, she dislike Shoko's behavior. In her point of view, Shoko has never tried to understand why conflicts happended nor tried to solve the problem, but only apologise and hoping by doing so, others would try to understand her and stop the conflict. Which in some aspect, Ueno is right, it is an advoiding behavior and not a healthy way to deal with everything happened, and this is why I did not really hate Ueno much. So in the ferris wheel sence, she tried to get Shoko to admitted she hate Ueno, but she refused to, and that made Ueno angry. She was like, "I have been so sincere to you, why do you still try to lie and advoid to face me." But later on she did understand that Shoko is just a nice girl and no much hatred would be hold in her. Plus when she do the hand sign to call Shoko idiot, Shoko finally fight back, then she accept and start to like Shoko at that point. At least she did learn sign language for Shoko, I didn't recall that mother fker Kawai learn any about that.
My favorite movie. It shows what both sides experience. It really resonates with me on a different level. Shoko is a big example of what people who not necessarily are bullied, but people who grow up with disabilities can feel and experience.
It's one of the movie that just feel raw and it just touch my heart so much. It's also about second chance and also how we all don't know better when we are uneducated but man, I love the way this movie approached the story the biggest things of this movie imo is about how adult don't accept and fix the situation yet let kids do that, shoko mums shouldn't send her to normal school, or she at least need to prepare her child because all the classmate also do not understand shoko. the teacher should realised that something need to be done and yet they do nothing. We end up hurting children and let them chose the wrong choice, some of them don't even know if they did something wrong.
Because the anime changed her character to be more of a play the victim than be a fake but sneaky bitch. They cut out a lot of content in this movie from the manga. Ueno’s character is a lot more fleshed out by the end of the story as opposed to how she really never changed but characters accepted her as if she did. Also the blonde haired kid is supposedly Ishida’s best friend when they were younger which is why he had some minor focus on him in the theme park. They also skipped the part about how he actually was the one who pulled him out of the river then he fell, but told Ueno to keep it secret. So much was cut that needed to be in the movie to complete other character arcs.
To me ueno did worse things but kawai did it in the most annoying way possible trying to stay lowkey which is why she was even more annoying to me, ueno was horrible in the most unhinged way while kawaii was doing it the opposite way. Both can…
This movie is a masterpiece in so many ways. Visually, Audibly and Story wise. I mean visually it's stunning and is very accurate with sign language and the representation of the crosses, audibly the movie is much like it would be for a deaf person at times and even plays into the emotion of how sound can be blocked out at times, story wise it really just set things up at the start, showing up everyone played a role in events, even the adults and the result was both characters wanting to die as a result of how things turned out because they couldn't forgive themselves. In the end they did and found that commonality in each other and their group. The movie has so much more meaning behind certain scenes and moments that other channels have broken it all down but it's one I rewatch all the time and can't help but ride that rollercoaster with them.
That feeling when your favourite reactors react to one of the most favourite movies 😄😌 This movie was the very first movie I was introduced to anime and man how thankful I am that I watched it... Looking forward to 'Your name's ' reaction!!
21:42 when she said I love you, he heard her, but he thought she was talking about the moon because the word (like/love) sound similar to the moon in Japanese
This is my favorite movie🥺💯 I feel like this movie should be mandatory for everyone to watch bc maybe if everyone saw this movie, who knows I’d like to think that maybe just maybe there would be less bullying in the world. I’ve been a victim of bullying almost my whole life and I relate so much to this movie and to the 2 main characters in certain ways. This movie will always have a special place in my heart🫶🏽
My whole class as children/pre-teens could have needed this movie to learn why bullying is so terrible and hurtful. Just like Ishida, i didn't gain a true friend until i was about 13. I have many regrets in life.
@@K000H I felt this, my schools especially the middle school I went to could’ve used this movie too to learn what bullying can lead too and I didn’t gain a true friend either till I was 14
I really recommend everyone to watch "Grave of the Fireflies". This anime movie made me rethink my life and how wars impact peoples lives. I think it's really suited for this moment, since we have 2 wars going on. And is the saddest movie ever made.
2 popular wars... In the middle east there are still wars between arab tribes, in south africa warlords battle for domination enslaving innocents with fear and destruction, syria, kivu, congo, somalia, yemen, mexican cartel wars, indo-china border conflict, asean-china territorial waters conflict, korean war, japan-russo territorial dispute, etc... There isnt only 2, and everyone should know that we are at the verge of near global conflict as the west creates more conflict internally and abroad. People in the states, france, canada, and uk, chant for violence in the name of movements they dont understand and vote in people to authorize more conflicts instead of working for more peace.
I really like when everyone hates Ueno xD. Sometimes we let our anger takes over and Ueno filled that part. Ueno is a really unique character it briefly showed in the anime that Ueno was a nice girl she was the first one who helped Nishimya. This made her fall in her studies she helped Nishimya so much that she wasn’t able to take notes for herself. This is one of the seed of hate that was never taken care of. Then because of Nishimya they started blaming each other and made Ishida the person to be thrown out the bus. Because they’re kids they started blaming Nishimya and that’s the next hate for Nishimya. Lastly one of the things that I like when Ueno pushed Nishimya in the fence is Ueno said “do you think oofing yourself will solve anything”, “you’re playing the tragic Heroine”, “I hate people like you because you only use your brain” Ueno basically saying here is there’s people who cares for you and ending your life will effect does who cares. Like Ishida Ueno really really hates that Nishimya doesn’t have self confidence. Ueno basically exist so Nishimya can become stronger and she did. What I hate the most though is Kawai she plays the victim card.. she became so defensive when Ishida ask if she told anyone about what happened in grade school.
Thanks for this. I always find Ueno really interesting, because I find her really hard to understand, but I can tell she's trying to be caring in her own way. So I really appreciate any insight to her people can share.
I have a hearing loss and hearing aids, but im not fully deaf. I can still relate to most of Shoko's experiences. Luckily, I didn't get bullied for my hearing loss, but I was always insecure about it at school. This movie definitely hits close to home in some aspects.
Nah. I swear only by seeing a couple clips of it years ago I refuse to watch it to this day.. it’s been like.. a decade since refuse to watch it.. I just know it’s going to be with me for the rest of my life if I do 💀 and I used to watch so many sad movies willingly but this one I knew I can’t handle 🫡
When I was a kid my family moved countries and I was really sad about having to leave behind all of my friends, then again after middle school and again after highschool, and even my first college after 2 years I was kicked out and had to move. After all of that I was just so tired of making friends and losing them that I didn't even try at my second college for a long time, so i really related to the main character and the way he would block other people out. I really love this movie so much, it makes me cry every time I watch it
YESSS! I haven't even played the video yet but I can't wait to watch this reaction. You two are my favorite reactors by far, and this is one of my favorite animes of all time, along with Your Name, which, I now see in the comments is coming!! This is like waking up Christmas morning! XD Thanks for all the hard work you two do, this channel is always a bright spot on cloudy days.
Fun fact about the music: the musician put a microphone INSIDE of a piano, so all those little muffled clicks and taps you hear during most of the songs are from the keys striking inside the piano. He did this to give it a more muted and muffled sound, sort of like what a deaf person would experience
I have never seen you two before, but being 5 minutes in I already LOVE how caring you two are for Shoko :) makes me so happy to see such empathetic people
Ueno is a really easy character to hate because, narratively, she is our two main character's inner monologue. It's only natural people hate her, because she's a reminder of the things that our character's hate most about themselves. She is the voice for their darkest, worst thoughts. If you pay attention to her lines, anytime she speaks, it's almost always just an echo of the things we KNOW they fear now spoken aloud. For Shoya, she is the fear that he hasn't changed, that everything he's doing is for self-gratification. He SHOULD hate himself because he deserves it, and it'd just be easier to slip back into how he used to be than to continue to struggle on as he is. For Shoko, she is the fear that she CANT change. That she's a burden to everyone around her. That her existence makes people miserable and that everything goes wrong if she's around. It's only towards the end that we begin to see her acceptance towards them, and even then it's prickly, because self-acceptance isn't a simple switch. It takes work and development. A bit of a spoiler for the manga, but it goes on well into their college years, and by that point, once Shoko has managed to finally fully accept herself is the same time Ueno fully integrates into their group
I think you guys feel things a little stronger than me in general, but I was also broken by this film. It is such a heart-breaking masterpiece. I didn't feel right watching this film, it really hits you deep, and makes you self-reflect and want the world's pain to be distributed a little more evenly and reduced. The people who have never experienced hardship often become those that create hardship after all. This is not an absolute fact, but it is damn close. Anyway, even though sometimes I may have an opinion which would criticize, I still love you guys and love seeing your videos. Keep it up! 💯
Niki Kawai is just as guilty as the other bullies. Although she never actively participated in the bullying with the boys. She encouraged it and also bad mouthed her on the side. And she doesn't take responsibility for it.
Such an amazing movie! I first read the manga, and it is much more in depth (and continues after the movie), but the movie is a great adaptation that captures the core of the story.
Wholesome fact about the movie, the piano sounds a little strange throughout the movie but it's because they recorded the sound a piano make INSIDE the actual instrument, to showcase a little how deaf people "hear" music, more like feeling it
This is my top 1 movie just above "I want to eat your pancreas" and "Maquia", for me it was a little bit relatable, especially for the guilt aspect and forgiveness.
I really enjoyed watching A Silent Voice, and I recommend watching these movies as well! - Ride your wave - The girl who leapt through time - Howl's Moving Castle - Hotarubi no Mori e - Ponyo - Wolf Children All these movies are just so amazing, and I do recommend you watch them! 🤍🤍🤍
I highly recommend Millenium Actress, it's simply incredible and one of my favorite movies of all time. I'd also recommend the directors other three films Perfect Blue, Paprika and Tokyo Godfathers as they're all fantastic. Tokyo Godfathers would be an especially good watch around Christmas.
5 more anime movies that made me cry: - Grave of the Fireflies - Wolf Children - In this corner of the World - I want to eat your pancreas - Violet Evergarden: The movie
I don’t know if anyone else pointed it out yet but the blonde was the worst bully she would do things that seemed nice but mess with her intentionally and in the manga it was more clear the movie they covered it up slightly to give rewatch value but if you look back on the scenes where they showed the school days going by she would do subtle things that were messed up like actively throwing her off in choir by breathing in early, inviting people to make fun of her, etc etc and then she would play the part of victim for attention
Personally, since I saw A Silent Voice for the first time, I have thought that it should have won an Óscar for best animated film...incredibly it was not even nominated. It was such a beautiful plot and at the same time so tear-jerking.
3:34 this scene teacher laugh at Nishimiya's language and after that Ishida mimic Nishimiya for care about Ueno, There are many psychological depictions in this film that are not represented by these lines, and Kawai is making Nishimiya fail in music classes, but none of the characters are aware of them, so we viewers need to watch carefully, Ishida was a direct bully, but all her classmates saw it and pretended not to see it, even the teacher. But it's hard to notice while watching subtitles 😅
Princess Mononoke, Nausicaä and Howl’s Moving Castle from Ghibili are my personal favorites Josee, the Tiger and the Fish is also a good one, its a romance And like others said, “I Want To Eat Your Pancreas is also good
I heavily suggest "weathering with you" It is a spiritual sequel to Your name as it takes place in the same universe a few years after Your name, just a different story and different characters tho. But both movies have special cameos for characters from many of Makoto Shinkais Anime films
Personally, I agree with Ange as far as the 3 Anime... But this is also currently my favorite movie, even after growing up in the 80's & 90's and watching so many films throughout the years. I felt I could relate a lot to this. Not saying its the best of anything, but it just really hits me hard every time I see it.
i just wanna say that i hate the blonde girl so much and shes the biggest villain, the black haired girl was up front and was honest w her actions meanwhile lil blondie was always seeking for pity and acting as the ''victim''
This is more of a psycological horror but i suggest watching the movie Perfect Blue! Its less jumpscary and more suspenseful but its one of my favorite anime horror movies. Its only 1hr and a half but its so interesting that it feels shorter than that.

I want to eat your pancreas, garden of words, weathering with you, 5cm/s ... must watch it ❤️
I want to eat your pancreas and weathering with you, these are truly masterpieces!!
grave of the fireflies
5 centimeters per second is probably the one to watch. It's sad though (sorry Ange), but a different kind of sad, not the uncontrollable crying kind
In the manga the elementary teacher ends up being the Villian and not Naoko. 😂
And he is super terrible. Naoko is still Bad but so is Kawaii
I take this point but I would say tho that the movie is about a boy AND A GIRL BOTH learning to love themselves and to build connections with others.
I don't see how we can't have both
People always say this like there are zero romantic undertones throughout the entire movie.
I actually hate her so much more than Ueno
she was really frustrating me
DAMN, she rlly was sneaky, I didn't notice those details even tho I knew something was off about her
Yeah, she did the choir thing to make it look like she's offering help.
She is literally the worst of them all.
yup to me she is actually the scariest and dangerous one. she is basically a wolf in sheep clothing.
Yeah, Kawai is also bullied Nishimiya, even tho it is subtle, like how she started moving her mouth early in the choir scene
No words can describe how much I hate Kawai.
The teacher was the absolute worst.
UGGG I hate that teacher with a passion. And yeah Kawai didn't necessarily behave the worst out of the kids, but her way of handling it afterwards is infuriating.
For me Kawai is the most evil kid. She's so fake
Forgiving yourself is way harder than forgiving other people..
In fact, a lot of the trauma we have is due to feelings of guilt for the things we have done. We are the ones who always blame ourselves.
We always set high standards for ourselves.
That's why it's so hard to love yourself..
Wow this is so true 🥲
Truer word's have never been said like this
In 29:10 nishimiya was saying that "she wanted to die" in sign language.
Because the film visually represents that fact perfectly well? Not everything has to be spoon fed to people and they can reason things out?
He was the scape goat of the entire bully group
Your are not alone me too😢😭
exactly what i was going through as well
The fact that the two main characters also voiced popular characters like Yor SpyXFamily, Shinobu Demon Slayer etc.. and the male lead voiced Haku Spirited Away, Suga Haikyuu… etc
They’re amazing!
@@CarlieAndAngeour boy suga got a character development here after he went to the volleyball tournament 😂
No fucking way Shouko is Saori. Wtf
Sahara, the girl who wanted to be friends with Shoko but was bullied into leaving, later appearing from another school, was played by *_Yui Ishikawa_* (Mikasa, Violet Evergarden, 2B, etc).
Miyu (the male lead) is also Sora in Kingdom Hearts! I'm proud to know him personally, he's a great guy.
The confession scene, IYKYK: Skipped over from the manga
Shoko confessed to Ishida because he gave her the pouch that Ueno gave him, but there was a note inside that he did not know about.
Thanks, that does explain it a lot better!
So in the manga Ueno confessed her love to ishida?
Omg thanks mate
This never fails to make me cry, especially the very end where he's able to properly see everyone around him and hear that they're just talking and being in their own world and not talking about him or anything, it's my favourite anime movie by far.
"Why do they recommend sad movies?" ~Ange
I think there's something about seeing other people moved by the same things that move us that brings us closer to humanity, to each other.
this movie hits hard but amazing, thanks for the reaction!
This is one of the best "bully redemption" stories I've ever seen.
"i want to eat your pancreas" is a good movie
We’ll note that one down for sure! We’ve seen quite a few recommendations for this

People who don't understand hate Ueno the most. People who understand this movie hate Kawai the most.
Yes
Omg yess, she is only character who never changes, always playing victim.
Even in the manga she is the worst, maybe the teacher can give her some competition
wait can you explain
@@AngelCaroline9don’t think too much about it, these are people who don’t try to understand that both Kawaii and Ueno had their own struggles and both were also at a point in their life when they couldn’t understand how to change but at the end of it, it became clear to both Kawaii and Ueno that they can be better. I honestly don’t hate Ueno or Kawaii because both are great depictions of humans.
my day just became better, thank you guys i always love your reactions
Thank you for taking the time to react to this beautiful movie. I've been following you both for three years now and your reactions never disappoint. I'm really happy for the both of you and can't wait to see more reactions from you guys. Keep up the amazing vids :)
But the oldest video on their channel is 2 yrs ago
Thankyou so much for this reaction, I really love your reactions.
And this is my favorite anime movie of all the time
Dang it, after watching this movie exactly 23 times this still makes me cry and it’s on a reaction channel and it still made me cried ❤❤❤
There is nothing passable about that ueno b***. That's not a rivalry, that's straight up bullying a disabled poor girl
@@whateveritbe1499i mean can you blame them for not wanting to listen to her?
My favorite movie. It shows what both sides experience. It really resonates with me on a different level. Shoko is a big example of what people who not necessarily are bullied, but people who grow up with disabilities can feel and experience.
This movie is what made me bat an eye to Anime & it’s unique style, everything wasn’t just yelling and powerups
I was having a really tough day and seeing you watching my favorite anime movie ever is really chearing me up. Love your channel and keep it up!
It's one of the movie that just feel raw and it just touch my heart so much.
It's also about second chance and also how we all don't know better when we are uneducated but man, I love the way this movie approached the story
the biggest things of this movie imo is about how adult don't accept and fix the situation yet let kids do that, shoko mums shouldn't send her to normal school, or she at least need to prepare her child because all the classmate also do not understand shoko. the teacher should realised that something need to be done and yet they do nothing. We end up hurting children and let them chose the wrong choice, some of them don't even know if they did something wrong.
One of my favorite anime movies, such a good redemption story.
Why does everybody fall for Kawai? she is the most manipulative and dangerous one. Ueno at least is honest
Edit: Well they got it later a bit xD
I hope. . . . But in my 1st watch of this I already hated Kawai than Ueno.
OMG THANK you i think no one sees this. I think Kawai is maybe worse than Ueno!
@@K000H I felt this, my schools especially the middle school I went to could’ve used this movie too to learn what bullying can lead too and I didn’t gain a true friend either till I was 14
No the excitement I felt!!! Always love your guys opinions, so excited for this reaction
I really recommend everyone to watch "Grave of the Fireflies".
This anime movie made me rethink my life and how wars impact peoples lives. I think it's really suited for this moment, since we have 2 wars going on.
And is the saddest movie ever made.
Still my favorite Ghibli movie to date - also the most devastating.
Might not be their cup of tea tbh with you.
Like Ishida
Ueno really really hates that Nishimya doesn’t have self confidence.
The last scene always make me cry, the taste of freedom
"Grave of the fireflies"

Noooooooo, not that movie lol🤣🤣🤣
@@aliffaiman614 nooooo they have toooo!!!!!!!!!
I have never seen you two before, but being 5 minutes in I already LOVE how caring you two are for Shoko :) makes me so happy to see such empathetic people
A Silent Voice is my personal favorite from this kind of animated movies.
after all this years still made me cry this movie!!!
This film is so worth watching, I'm glad you 2 liked it
I think you guys feel things a little stronger than me in general, but I was also broken by this film.
Keep it up! 💯
39:14 the translation changed here. what Maria said is actually "you aren't dead?" but yeah I understand why they changed it

Niki Kawai is just as guilty as the other bullies. Although she never actively participated in the bullying with the boys. She encouraged it and also bad mouthed her on the side. And she doesn't take responsibility for it.

I first read the manga, and it is much more in depth (and continues after the movie), but the movie is a great adaptation that captures the core of the story.
Still wish it didn’t cut so much from the story but it is to be expected
This was also my favourite movie. Tnx for the reaction ❤
this movie made me so emotional back then when i watched it. i miss having emotions
Still remember how this movie and Your Name shattered my heart when I was in grade 9!
No matter how many times i watch this and where, i wil, alweys love this anime

I highly recommend Millennium Actress. It's an old one but still masterpiece to this days.
I've already watched this many times but it's fun to watch it by someone watching it on Yt❤
Princess Mononoke, Nausicaä and Howl’s Moving Castle from Ghibili are my personal favorites
Josee, the Tiger and the Fish is also a good one, its a romance
And like others said, “I Want To Eat Your Pancreas is also good

I heavily suggest "weathering with you"
It is a spiritual sequel to Your name as it takes place in the same universe a few years after Your name, just a different story and different characters tho.
But both movies have special cameos for characters from many of Makoto Shinkais Anime films
Love the fact that your name is next
Grave of the fireflies. Please watch it. It’ll destroy you emotionally.
Grave of the Fireflies
My favorite anime movie
Colorful is a must see
I know this is unrelated to movies, but you have to watch the anime Bungou Stray Dogs!! I actually cant wait

i just wanna say that i hate the blonde girl so much and shes the biggest villain, the black haired girl was up front and was honest w her actions meanwhile lil blondie was always seeking for pity and acting as the ''victim''
I'd like to recommend Liz and the blue bird. It's from the same director of thos movie
This is more of a psycological horror but i suggest watching the movie Perfect Blue! Its less jumpscary and more suspenseful but its one of my favorite anime horror movies. Its only 1hr and a half but its so interesting that it feels shorter than that.
