Shimada really was bad to her too. for example in the music class, she told nishimiya "watch me" and then purposely opened her mouth earlier so that nishimiya would start to singing and consequently embarrass herself. Shes one of those types, that are always doing enough "bad" to not get caught and still look innocent. there are other small details too, and later when she told her boyfriend what shinomya did, but still acted innocent.
Kawai, The girl at the start that you said, she had been really nice to her actually just hid her bullying well and ALWAYS played the victim card until the end of course. Sneaky example even though it wasn't in your reaction, when they were in singing practice she baited Shouko into starting early on purpose to be laughed at then played it off by saying that line. Yeah, the mom got her earring ripped out when she went to give money and apologize because of her son. Crazy symbolism at the end with the Koi swimming away representing Shoya's soul, but the fish turns around when Shouko cries out in pain it brings him back from giving up. I could never like Kawai because she doesnt take any responsibility and always tries to throw it on others to make herself look better. Ueno was harsh but she was honest and she was the only one to acknowledge that they put everything on Shoya and ruined his life so they could keep going
In the English version, the voice actress is actually deaf (I honestly prefer the English version because of this, she did an incredible job and it’s what a deaf person really sounds like, not a hearing person imitating a deaf person, it truly makes a difference) and when they fight she says “I’m doing the best I can” and oh my godddd it hits so hard. Im deaf in one ear and have quite a bit of hearing loss in the other from birth, so this movie really just hits every single button for me, can’t help but love it, saw some of your one piece videos so knew I had to watch this
@@AliAnimus I can’t recommend it enough, plus some of the subtitles you’ve got in this version are confusing, they poorly convey what Nishimiya is trying to say, you mentioned the friend calling Yuzuru a lady, but it’s because it was actually “laddy” like lad as in guy, and in Japanese it sounds like he’s saying Shonen which basically means young boy, like one piece is published in Shonen Jump because that’s the age demographic they’re written for, early teens-ish, although anyone can enjoy because it’s great lol. you caught it eventually but that’s a weird translation imo and unnecessarily confusing
Also want to mention the message of how important disability access is for people of any age, students like her should be provided with interpreters, the Japanese school system failed her and led to her bullying, other students shouldn’t be taking her notes, they put her in a hearing classroom without the resources a deaf student would need in a hearing classroom, it happens here too The teacher also failed to act until it was too late and pinned the blame on the student when he was just as guilty for letting it happen under his supervision

in the manga, the reason why Ueno stayed in the hospiyal with Shoya was because she has a crush on him. I think she even kissed him while he was unconscious lol

I get the feeling we’re all a bit lost in some ways deep down under all the layers. We all try to justify the small evil we encourage and allow to be. I also have so much negative feelings toward myself as I’m an adult now because my inner child argues with the adult Side of myself. One thing I learned is you can’t let go of your inner child because it’s part of you and you have to make peace with it because trying to get rid of it or ignore it does a disservice to who you are even if it’s just parts of you. The soul knows when you betray your inner self.
It was kinda funny how your brain just could not imagine his sister producing a baby that dark skinned. If you know basic japanese you could have picked up when his best friend said 'laddy' he was saying 'shonen.'
I've seen this a few times now and i never get the feeling of the school boy crush at the beginning, i think he's just genuinely a bully who changes over time because he also becomes the victim, i think his feelings for her develop when they're older
Fr, like he started bullying Shoko because he saw that Naoka was feeling burdened for helping her. & since he wanted to fit in & be the class clown as he always was, he called the attention by bullying her
it's unclear in the anime but in the manga we saw that Shoya's sister are in couple with a brasilian men. that's why his sister are tanned. and it's clearer also in the manga that Ueno was in love with Ishida so it give her a motiv the hate Nishimiya. we can say all we want about Ueno she was always honest, unlike Kawai. in the manga you also learn that nishimiya's father abandonned his family when he learn she was deaf. interesting detail when she leave Shoya during the firework she didn't sign him "see you next time" she sign him : "goodbye". and the scene when she's on her knees asking forgivness to Shoya's mom you realise it's the first time that she's really sorry and she meant it.
My favorite anime film of all time besides one I saw once and refuse to watch again... I think those who've seen it know which movie... 💔 Grave of the Fireflies 💔 A Silent Voice hit all the feels... think I'm done crying, nope! The X's fell so here we go again. 😅 So good. What makes the film even more tragic is what happened with the Kyoto Animation arson, killing 33 or more... some having worked on this masterpiece.
i watched this film 4 time including this reaction whenever i want to watch a tearjerker movie and i still don't know why ishida sister face so secretive
Everyone was talking about the movie your name when it came out the same year as this movie and saying it was the best movie that year when the better one was actually this movie
The scenes where ueno tries to make peace between ishida n his childhood frnd n when ueno beats up nishimiya tells us that ueno cares abt ishida but her way of expressing that care is wrong she believes that nishimiya was the reason y they all split n doesn't try to understand where she herself went wrong n unable to accept her own fault she starts blaming nishimiya but at the end she tries to change n we can see that ofc a person can't change overnight n that's what happens in the end ueno is trying to change but her change is gonna take a long time so in short ueno is a bully for sure but she does care abt ishida n in the end she also does start caring abt nishimiya but doesn't show it because she wants to keep her tough girl act whereas the girl with the specs always tries to chastise ishida n tries to be a pick me by trying to make herself look like the victim whereas she too used to laugh when they bullied nishimiya n that's the worst person u could have in ur frnd group who laughs at u secretly but acts all innocent in front of u atleast ueno wasn't like that she shows everyone what she truly is instead of hiding her true self
This movie navigates masterfully difficult topics which is prevalent in Japan such as bullying in schools, loneliness, suicide and at the same time, as discusses issues which is also prevalent around the lives of everyone around the world - which is forgiveness, redemption and turning points in life. Everyone makes stupid mistakes in life, but sometimes the path to redemption isn't easy -
You've got different subtitles than I've seen before for this movie. It makes me wonder which translation is more accurate. This is what makes me want to learn Japanese.
This version of the subs is much better than whatever version most other reactors have to this movie. Despite her "laddy"/"lady" confusion, these subs with Shoko's lines a bit slurred is a much better translation. It gets the point across with the "moon"/"like" distinction much better, and it gets the "I want you to help me live" line properly (rather than the poorly translated "I want to help you live" one).
You are spot on about Kawai. She hid behind the, "I'm a sweet innocent girl" defense to avoid any blame in the bully.

9:40 basicaly, when she gave shoko mother the money, shoko mother said "what about the suffering? the money only pay for the hearing aids, what about the suffeing my daugther endured?" so shouya mother ripped off her own earing to cause herself pain for her son, as a ay of apoligising
I much rather have a person like Ueno in my friend circle than someone like Kawaii. Not saying her particular actions are ok at all, I'm just talking about the essence of their characters.
I just find your channel, I absolutely loveD your reaction, and loved your analisis, this is my favorite anime movie, the end scenes is just such a perfect end, im gonna stick around now with your reactions, hope to see you one day react to your lie april, March comes in like a lion, or the dangers in my heart,
I don't care if I've seen spoilers and every clip about this movie. I stg I'm gonna shed a tear either way.
Sometimes I wonder, what if when Shoko was opening her bag at the start of the movie she just aired the whole place out
highly recommend the manga. the movie is great but they cut out a lot of awesome supporting scenes that help make the story even better to fit it into a shorter length of time.
If you wanna watch another masterpiece that'll make you bawl, Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms is AMAZING and underrated
As a empath, Im glad that you feel too much makes me enjoy your content a lot ❤❤❤
you are a beautiful human being and smart af
Thank you 🥹
Next movie is either "I want to eat your pancreas" or "Grave of the Fireflies"
It was kinda funny how your brain just could not imagine his sister producing a baby that dark skinned. If you know basic japanese you could have picked up when his best friend said 'laddy' he was saying 'shonen.'
Yes yes I love watching ppl suffer with my fav animes 😂😂
I've seen this a few times now and i never get the feeling of the school boy crush at the beginning, i think he's just genuinely a bully who changes over time because he also becomes the victim, i think his feelings for her develop when they're older
Fr, like he started bullying Shoko because he saw that Naoka was feeling burdened for helping her. & since he wanted to fit in & be the class clown as he always was, he called the attention by bullying her
If the film is beautiful, manga is amazing because has more detail and more backstory for understand clearly all the characters
it's unclear in the anime but in the manga we saw that Shoya's sister are in couple with a brasilian men. that's why his sister are tanned. and it's clearer also in the manga that Ueno was in love with Ishida so it give her a motiv the hate Nishimiya. we can say all we want about Ueno she was always honest, unlike Kawai. in the manga you also learn that nishimiya's father abandonned his family when he learn she was deaf. interesting detail when she leave Shoya during the firework she didn't sign him "see you next time" she sign him : "goodbye". and the scene when she's on her knees asking forgivness to Shoya's mom you realise it's the first time that she's really sorry and she meant it.
My favorite anime film of all time besides one I saw once and refuse to watch again... I think those who've seen it know which movie...
💔 Grave of the Fireflies 💔
A Silent Voice hit all the feels... think I'm done crying, nope! The X's fell so here we go again. 😅 So good. What makes the film even more tragic is what happened with the Kyoto Animation arson, killing 33 or more... some having worked on this masterpiece.
nice, now i dont have to watch this movie alone, thanks
Let's go our girl start uploading long videos
i watched this film 4 time including this reaction whenever i want to watch a tearjerker movie and i still don't know why ishida sister face so secretive
Everyone was talking about the movie your name when it came out the same year as this movie and saying it was the best movie that year when the better one was actually this movie
Fact🔥
And boss baby won the award 😂 the ultimate joke 😭😭😭
I'll wait for the next, Kimi no nawa and Grave of the fireflies (but be ready for this one) 😅
I had pretty much the same reaction when she jumped
You have to check out "Your Name"
If you can find somewhere that streams it I’d recommend Anohana, one of my favorite anime and one of the most heartbreaking
"Your Name" should be next very good 👍
And then waiting apothecary diaries upload in youtube 😭
It's funny how most good anime movies anyone suggests ends up breaking you😂
love story ❌
forgiveness story ✅
this is the song of the anime movie :P
【MAD】Koe no Katachi - Koi wo Shita no wa (恋をしたのは)
this one always makes me cry
Omg i teared'up again watching even a reaction of this .. as a man i should't è_é
Samee😅😢😅
Ali crying right as the movie starts? That's gotta be a new record lol
Give Komi Can't Communicate a watch if you haven't. I love that show. Queen Komi
This movie navigates masterfully difficult topics which is prevalent in Japan such as bullying in schools, loneliness, suicide and at the same time, as discusses issues which is also prevalent around the lives of everyone around the world - which is forgiveness, redemption and turning points in life. Everyone makes stupid mistakes in life, but sometimes the path to redemption isn't easy -
"Fun" fact:The movie is based on a true story but , in the real story they both died.
Ngl...i watched this movie first.
Then " your name."
I didnt like your name nearly as much as i like this movie.
This movie hit DEEP.
Finally u watch this masterpiece 😭
i would never forgive this movie's director/author cuz the day i watched this the first time, I was sliced to piecess this movie is sooo sadd
I recommend you watch Grave of the fireflies. Truly ahead of its time.
This movie here 👌🏻
maria (the little girl) is his sisters daughter so hes her uncle not her brother
Seeing you cry after the first 5 minutes? Oh lord the rest will be tough
I can’t watch this movie ever again. It’s beautiful but it hits too close to home.
2:59 honestly, who recommend this anime movie to her?? look what u have done 🤣🤣🤣
watching this again, reminds me how i dislike the kind of character that Kawai is.
Whenever a reactor crying.. I"ll be there
