      You bet. We’ll probably be selling cruisin’ classic at some point if you find yourself wanting another 4106. It’s an LTR coach and has been babied, stored inside, etc.

    Great work making it your own. Yes carpet gets gross over time and needs to be replaced often but love that flooring you chose. The rest of the floor is a winter project when it’s cooler. ✌🏽

      The flooring is stainmaster toasted wheat oak from Lowe’s. Really like it too, I’d like to do the whole house in the stuff. Thanks for watchin’

    Wondering if they had animals or young children in the bud to make such a mess. I’m sure you will make it awesome!!! Wish we had a RV interior place like that around here. Looks like GM switch plugs. Beautiful work Scott!

      Oh yeah for sure, like grandmas Cadillac from the 70’s, but lots of other things too. Now I wanna check my ford. I wonder if the “plug” on the back is the same too?

    The chair I just reupholstered in my bus had the same exact base. I had to make mine 5 in taller.

    • @ThisOldBus
      @ThisOldBus  10 месяцев назад +1

      I ended up with a base that was about 4.25” tall plus the power base which also goes up and down

    The look is Great now! But you would notes a change in bouncing sound.. because the carpet and the fabric sofa work as an acoustics panels.

      Perhaps, but we have dogs so the easy cleanup is more important to us.

    That looks good. We have been looking to remodel our interior as well. We have not found a Coach interior store such as the one you highlighted. I guess we need to travel further to locate one. Thanks for the video.

      There are 3 near me, this particular one is 2 hrs away _each way_ and I had to go there twice. We visited all 3 before deciding to purchase from the one furthest away. Whereabouts are you located?

    • @jeffbyrd7976
      @jeffbyrd7976 10 месяцев назад

      @ThisOldBus I live near Tucumcari, NM. There's a camping world just over an hour away, but that store doesn't carry near the selection. Their focus is selling campers. I have not found a store dedicated to rv interior remodeling yet. So probably going to be 5 or 6 hours to either Denver or Dallas

    Scott what a transformation after you put the new seats and flooring in. Where is the old bus? When will we take the new bus out on a trip Scott? Does the new 4106 have a little more pep than the other other 4106 Scott?

    • @ThisOldBus
      @ThisOldBus  7 месяцев назад

      Old bus is here, so now we have 2. Will probably sell old bus later this year when we are ready. New bus does have more pep, but mechanic doesn’t understand why. I think the cams are different.

    I sure do like your new bus. Have you ever driven Hwy 6 from Portland to Tillamook? We might be going that route next weekend as we head down the Oregon Coast. Thanks Jim!

    • @ThisOldBus
      @ThisOldBus  10 месяцев назад

      Yep several times, no issue. There’s a forestry center about mid way thru on road that’s a cool stopover with RV parking. Good place to stop and walk the dog, make a sandwich, take a walk down to the river viewpoint.

    • @ThisOldBus
      @ThisOldBus  10 месяцев назад

      Since you’re going thru Tillamook you might want to get a reservation at cape Kiwanda RV resort. It’s probably going to be raining, but it’s a cool area. You can drive on some of the beaches there if you have 4wd toad.

      Sounds great. I read that there were some pretty steep grades, but the highest point is apparently less than 1800 feet or so. I sure like that white leather furniture in your new bus. Awesome stuff. Thanks.@@ThisOldBus

      @ThisOldBus  10 месяцев назад

      I remember a couple sharp corners, a bit of construction that’s probably over now, and perhaps one long steep grade but it’s totally doable, I’d say enjoyable run with a nice stop in the middle. Where are you coming from? I’d avoid the core Portland highways just because traffic. Long Beach WA is pretty cool and might be on your way, you take OR 30 to get there. Thanks for appreciating the furniture, I can tell you a couple places where you can shop for more while you’re passing thru.

    Scott got questions. What's wrong with the old 4106, she's a beauty, is she still running well? When will you put the new 4106 on the rode so we can watch her performance? Dr. Barnes

    • @ThisOldBus
      @ThisOldBus  7 месяцев назад +1

      Nothing’s wrong with the old 4106, the new one has a roof raise and a floor plan that we like better that feels more roomy and functional.

    Do you notice a difference in interior noise going from carpet to vinyl? I'm mostly concerned with noise when driving. I have carpet front to back in my 4106 and really would like to change out to vinyl from the front through the kitchen and bathroom, but I don't want it to be noisy while traveling as it's pretty quiet inside now. Thanks

    • @ThisOldBus
      @ThisOldBus  10 месяцев назад

      I didn’t notice a difference and we’ve done it in two buses now. It’s already a pretty loud environment and it’s not coming from the floor.

  • @Chesterbarnes1
    @Chesterbarnes1 7 месяцев назад

    Scott additional question: Did you ever consider looking for a Buffalo Coach a 4107. It would have had more horse power than a 4106 would it NOT?

    • @ThisOldBus
      @ThisOldBus  7 месяцев назад

      Our first bus was a 4107 before we had a RUclips channel. They have the same engine stock, so no more power. Bigger bays on a 4107. The drawback of a 4107 is they used dissimilar metals on more of the bus and many of them will have corrosion in the skin unless perhaps they’ve been stored inside most of their lives. The 4106 only has steel in the front around some of the windows, which is also a common corrosion area, but on the 4107 they used steel and aluminum on the sides too.
