My 2017 Lariat does the same thing my G! It's called secured idle. Even our 2019 Ford Fusion does it. Only work with push button start engines, but dang your 2021 is super fresh. Respect 🙏🏿

Thanks, quick question on your Main Menu screen where My View is highlighted. ..set your display to trip 1 or 2 and see if stays on that setting for a day or two. My setting won't stay it goes back to the Main Menu with My View highlighted. A few other people having that same issue. I don't like having to steady reset it to trip 1 like I would like it to stay on

Thanks for the compliment. The front stripping I did myself after purchasing a roll of it online, but I intend on having it painted on by a professional. The fender flares, I popped them off had my wife jell polish the red green and yellow colors on and the black done by the paint shop that painted my tail lights and emblems. Also if you plan on removing the side emblem there's no need putting your hand inside of the fender to pry it out I received deep cuts pushing my hands down towards the emblem...You can remove them easily from the outside just get a plastic pry tool and it pops off. Good luck I look forward to seeing your set up.

Thanks for the compliment. To be honest I wanted either Space White or Oxford and I want to order one being certain features I wanted,but with the chip shortage I ended up with a powerboost. Not with all the features I wanted,but the hybrid I like alot . It really saves on fuel especially if you're just sitting in your vehicle with the A/C on...98% of the time it's running on the batteries. It cranks up for about 2 minutes to charge the batteries then back off..
Purchasing this vehicle I had no idea about the powerboost or how it works. I wanted to get out of my 2019 High Country that gave me so much issues under warranty I took the next available one. I'm happy with it. The only issue I've ran across is that my pro power outlets does not work. The light on the outlets was flashing from day one of purchasing but next knew why until recently I tried plugging a charger into it and was told on the screen Pro Power OnBoard needs service see dealership. It's at the dealership now two days...
@@handinhandunitedwestand Absolutely, my man. I was getting 730 miles to a tank average before I lifted mine. I have 6" lift with 35's. I changed to tire circumference in the BDCM and I'm still getting 500 miles to a tank.

I contacted Ford asking them to looking into having the 360 camera on in drive mode up to 5 miles, being that at that speed one is either parking or coming up close..in that way one don't need to press the 360 button

I also out the towing mirrors on mine, Ford OEM, but I need to have the dealer program them for the amber lights to come on with the parking lights. Only the blinker signal works. I'm not sure if it's just a programming thing or a wiring configuration.
Thanks. I did a red pinstripping around the front grille. I'm awaiting the return of my truck that have been at the shop going on 2 weeks now. They trying to figure out why the outlets are not working. The had to remove the exhaust, gas tank and driveshaft to get to the battery pack. So far they replaced a module and fuse but that did not help...
Dude... thats huge. Dropped off my wife at work driving her Rav4. Drive away... stopped for fuel. Wouldn't restart because SHE still had the key fob, lol. 👍🏼
Haha happened to some work colleagues too on a work trip ! One got dropped off at my work, the other went back to his hotel… but the first guy still had the fob! When the 2nd guy stopped at his hotel, he couldn’t leave again! (and the 1st guy had to taxi back)
You may have the proximity alarm too. Set the alarm and if a window(s) is down and someone approaches the vehicle and attempts to stick their hand inside the alarm will go off.
Any F150 with Intelligent Acess key has the caapbility for secure idle. If it is not enabled from the factory (should be on any 2018+) then it can be enabled with Forscan.
Oh I might add that this feature may be for power boost models so that you can use generator feature and keep truck on and locked. As battery drains from load on the generator the engine automatically starts to recharge battery.
Good find. However without a push button start, removing the key will shut it down. What I think might be hidden is a remote shut down via Ford Pass. There are a lot of car jacking animals out there and they would not get too far with a feature like this.
My 2019 Ram Rebel can be used without a fob. My gf left for about 20 mins and came back for the fob when she realised. Never tried with my 21 Lariat lol good to know 👍
Bought a 21 4x4 Powerboost Lariat crew long box 501a. I have a level kit and tires and get 21.7 avg. You might want to have the dealership look at it. MPG seems low. Nice truck. Mine is Rapid red metallic with chrome package. Best truck and mpg I have owned. Have had fords all my life I’m 57 and love this Powerboost.
Thanks for the comment. The truck actually have a few issues and I'm in the buyback process. The replacement truck is already built, but awaiting chip. It was built on 3/25/22 . This will be my 4th F-150. I believe that with a lift and heavier wheels and tires it lowers a gas mileage that's just my thought. Most wheel packages , a rim and tire let's say a 20"+ weighs close to 100lbs. I'll do a weight video or pick on my next build.

I rented one from my dealer for a few days. I have 2018 3.5 ... that powerboost is freaking amazing. Will get one myself after the first year bugs are worked out.
For me so far one of the issues I'm having is the outlets, which I'm taking the truck back in so that they can drop the tank,exhaust and driveshaft to access the battery pack to see why I'm getting a notification each time I try to use the outlets. Other than that the truck is good and powerful...and nothing like sitting in the truck a/c blowing on battery power. It cranks up for about 2 minutes to charge the battery 🔋 then shuts back down.
@@handinhandunitedwestand I experienced tons of issues with the infotainment. Being IT and nerdy as hell I was playing with everything and multiple times it would lose volume control ability over android auto. However all fixable with firmware updates. Good luck on your repairs!!

One should not have to turn it on when pulling into a parking space ect....also having the mirror cameras show up on the screen when the turn signal is activated..like most new models there's always issues that have to be sorted out...

All mp3 audio on it, but if I slide the track to a different play spot it stops and goes to another song, or changing songs at times I get a notification saying mp3 not supported. That same song plays in my other vehicle without any issues....
@@handinhandunitedwestand that sounds like the mp3 player doesn't support that codec or something. (Copyright) If I were you I would move all your mp3s from USB to your phone and just use Android Auto or car play..it's really intuitive.
I have a 2021 F150 2.7.... I had NO IDEA this was a thing. I live in Northern Canada where it goes down to -50. So When I hop out and go to a store I have always shut it off, then use the remote starter. This is way better.
That’s a slick looking boost man! I just picked up a 2022 XL last week. I don’t have the touch start though, so this doesn’t apply to me. What kind of mpg’s are you getting with the tire/rim setup?
Congrats on the purchase. On the miles per gallon it all boils down to how you drive. In the city I've been getting up to 19 mpg, on the highway 17. The thing I love about it is that at speeds up to 40 mph at times goes in hybrid which helps out alot. Other than the cluster issue I love the truck. Once my replacement comes in my build will be fast. Anyways take care and feel free to share your build and ask questions about the build

I’m looking at doing a 3-4 inch suspension lift and putting some 33” tires on her in the near future. I’ve got window tint scheduled for next week, and am looking at tuning it to unlock the full potential of the 3.5. Have you looked into doing a tune yet?

@@handinhandunitedwestand I haven’t looked too much into them yet as I want to put a couple thousand miles on to make sure the engine is running as it should first before I jealousies the dealer warranty, but I’ve done some looking into livernois and have heard some good gains to be had. I’ve got it on my wife’s 3.5 boosted explorer and that thing rips. I’ll probably go that route but have heard good things about 5 star as well.

Thanks. Yes for a nice color like that they should continue, but they have their reasons. From my understanding each vehicle according to the model and options the area might be different. For mine, it shows in the front cupholder next to the shifter below the rubber mat.
with my LIGHTNING Pro, I'm someone who doesn't like to carry 'keys', or 'keyfobs', or anything - SO... I've found the way to not ever have to deal with them. Yes, I want to 'jump out' and 'run in' and 'be right back'... so, that's where my FORD PASS APP comes in handy. I leave the keyfob in the truck, leave the truck 'ON', and simply hit the 'LOCK' button within the APP as I am walking away. I simply hit the 'UNLOCK' from the app when I am returning. Whether I leave the truck 'ON', or not, doesn't matter, especially in an 'all-electric' truck : )

It's people like you that's always find negative in any positive someone is bringing to light. Understand this and I hope there's someone around you that could enlighten you a bit to be on the positive side...It seems like because you know of something that everyone knows it to...Sounds like a person that knows it all which makes you a FOOL. Like you said, it isn't a secret to most, so what about the others that's not aware of that option.....Stay positive, but I had to put you in your place because you needed that enlightening.
Here is another one.... You can turn the f150 off even if you are in gear and on full stop....the f150 will shut off and will go to park.2021 lariat here
2023 F-250 but once you take the truck out of Park then if you separate the fob from the truck nothing happens. Even if you come to a full stop put it in park then back in gear it's still drive able. Just down turn it off 😆
I'm only speaking and showing what I've experienced. Question, have you put your truck in park then have someone walk away with your keys, let's say about 20' away then try to move your shifter from park to drive. Live your truck running when the person walks away from your truck with the keys ...Let me know what happened
Seems like the security feature only prevents someone from taking it out of Park if the key is too far. Yes I started my truck put it in drive then gave my key to my wife who walked a couple hundred feet away and I was still able to drive. Then came to a stop put it in Park (still she wasn't near the truck) and then it still let me shift back into drive with no issues. However this is a weird situation to ever be in.
Umm pretty obvious the truck won’t go into gear if it’s turned off… you can see clearly that your truck is not running. Your ignition was on, not the truck.
Well, buddy, my truck is a Hybrid Google how they operates... I'm not on here to fool anyone, here to share what I know what others might not be aware of. About 33% of the time in city driving the vehicle runs on the batteries, cranks up for about a minute or two to charge the battery then back to Hybrid mode. Hope this enlightens you a bit.
This is not a new or secret feature, it's been around awhile with push button start vehicles. Key needs to be in the truck to drive it, simple as that.
Oh yeah wow smh.. just to enlighten you, there are alot of vehicles with push start that can be driven away while on without the keys present. Do your homework buddy

@@handinhandunitedwestand … yes, you need the key/fob to drive. Every push button start vehicle I’ve ever owned or seen requires that. Just like remote start, can’t drive unless the key is ether in the ignition or for push button in the vehicle.

The point was that if someone tries to live with your vehicle whether if it's left open or if someone beaks your window to get in while it's running that they will not be able to move the vehicle out of gear. Ohmygosh! I had to test this for myself and it works for the 2021 lariat as well! They put their soul in the F150.

U can also lock the doors with key in pocket when u step out while vehicle is running.

Yes works on any with keyless access. I think if you try to restart it within 10 seconds it will restart, but otherwise it won’t.

It's called police mode. It was not enabled by default in my 2021 Powerboost but I turned it on in Forscan.

I have a 2021 F150 2.7.... I had NO IDEA this was a thing. I live in Northern Canada where it goes down to -50. So When I hop out and go to a store I have always shut it off, then use the remote starter. This is way better.

Congrats on the purchase. On the miles per gallon it all boils down to how you drive. In the city I've been getting up to 19 mpg, on the highway 17. The thing I love about it is that at speeds up to 40 mph at times goes in hybrid which helps out alot. Other than the cluster issue I love the truck. Once my replacement comes in my build will be fast. Anyways take care and feel free to share your build and ask questions about the build
@@handinhandunitedwestand Dang well you just convinced me to go with a lift and bigger tires! My powerboost is basically bone stock right now, just added a spray in bed liner last week. I’m looking at doing a 3-4 inch suspension lift and putting some 33” tires on her in the near future. I’ve got window tint scheduled for next week, and am looking at tuning it to unlock the full potential of the 3.5. Have you looked into doing a tune yet?

@@handinhandunitedwestand I haven’t looked too much into them yet as I want to put a couple thousand miles on to make sure the engine is running as it should first before I jealousies the dealer warranty, but I’ve done some looking into livernois and have heard some good gains to be had. I’ve got it on my wife’s 3.5 boosted explorer and that thing rips. I’ll probably go that route but have heard good things about 5 star as well.

That is one bad looking truck, I love that color, how is it with dust and getting dirty? My two choices are this color or space white, but they won't let you get the power boost hybrid with space white, so it looks like this color it is, I absolutely love it, congratulations.

It's called Leadfoot and no it was not wrapped. That color is not available for 2022 not sure why Ford takes away the good colors in such a short time

Thanks. Yes for a nice color like that they should continue, but they have their reasons. From my understanding each vehicle according to the model and options the area might be different. For mine, it shows in the front cupholder next to the shifter below the rubber mat.
with my LIGHTNING Pro, I'm someone who doesn't like to carry 'keys', or 'keyfobs', or anything - SO... I've found the way to not ever have to deal with them.
Yes, I want to 'jump out' and 'run in' and 'be right back'... so, that's where my FORD PASS APP comes in handy. I leave the keyfob in the truck, leave the truck 'ON', and simply hit the 'LOCK' button within the APP as I am walking away. I simply hit the 'UNLOCK' from the app when I am returning. Whether I leave the truck 'ON', or not, doesn't matter, especially in an 'all-electric' truck : )
Why didn't it honk when you waled away? I have a 19 Lariat and it honks all the time if the truck is running

2023 F-250 but once you take the truck out of Park then if you separate the fob from the truck nothing happens. Even if you come to a full stop put it in park then back in gear it's still drive able. Just down turn it off 😆
I'm only speaking and showing what I've experienced. Question, have you put your truck in park then have someone walk away with your keys, let's say about 20' away then try to move your shifter from park to drive. Live your truck running when the person walks away from your truck with the keys ...Let me know what happened
Seems like the security feature only prevents someone from taking it out of Park if the key is too far. Yes I started my truck put it in drive then gave my key to my wife who walked a couple hundred feet away and I was still able to drive. Then came to a stop put it in Park (still she wasn't near the truck) and then it still let me shift back into drive with no issues. However this is a weird situation to ever be in.

Umm pretty obvious the truck won’t go into gear if it’s turned off… you can see clearly that your truck is not running.
Your ignition was on, not the truck.
Well, buddy, my truck is a Hybrid Google how they operates... I'm not on here to fool anyone, here to share what I know what others might not be aware of. About 33% of the time in city driving the vehicle runs on the batteries, cranks up for about a minute or two to charge the battery then back to Hybrid mode. Hope this enlightens you a bit.

This is not a new or secret feature, it's been around awhile with push button start vehicles. Key needs to be in the truck to drive it, simple as that.
Oh yeah wow smh.. just to enlighten you, there are alot of vehicles with push start that can be driven away while on without the keys present. Do your homework buddy

@@handinhandunitedwestand … yes, you need the key/fob to drive. Every push button start vehicle I’ve ever owned or seen requires that. Just like remote start, can’t drive unless the key is ether in the ignition or for push button in the vehicle.

The point was that if someone tries to live with your vehicle whether if it's left open or if someone beaks your window to get in while it's running that they will not be able to move the vehicle out of gear. Try understanding the message before commenting. Commenting is good in a positive way which I try being that way
