I just played this song in my own Jazz Style on my Yamaha YPG-235 Keyboard! Style: #67: Swing 1! Tempo: 100! Harmony: Block Chords! I really like your version of this song!
To paraphrase Jacob Collier, "wrong chords" can be "right" if they help get to a destination. So rather than think of a chord in terms of whether its notes fit the key, it helps to think of where you started, where you're going, and if it helps get you there. Also it can be looked at in terms of tension and release. This is what you're saying too! I suppose there's many ways to describe a skinned cat ...or something like that!
He ain’t pay me to say this but I’ll say it anyway, sick chords is like actually pretty cool like so many of these things that get sold are lame because everyone knows that making chords complex is just adding notes, but actually having usable voicing sets it apart
My voicing game sucks. Just bought the Sick Chords and after first glance I see that it was worth it. Thanks for the good practice material. Now I have no excuse ;)
@@JeffSchneiderMusic btw, I'm thoroughly studying everything you've uploaded, I took piano as a complementary instrument years ago and never got a hold of it kinda til now... thanks

Great stuff. Very useful
Thank you for this ! Tasty, soulful, great balance of elaborated harmony and feel. Love it ! Thx for sharing Jeff :)
The Am7 to F#m11 to Dm11 in the A section also sounds good because the root notes are going down in thirds!
Wow Jeff. That’s quite beautiful! I’d download that.
