TO REPEAT THE DESIGN FOR LARGER PROJECTS YOU WILL WORK ROWS 1 THRU 18 AND THEN WORK ROWS 3 THRU 18 AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WOULD LIKE FOR THE PROJECT YOU CHOOSE. See more info below on working in the round.
The chart for this is in my Etsy shop which you can find here, the PDF also includes 3 versions OF THE DESIGN INCLUDING A STAGGERED REPEAT OF THE TREES WITH SNOW and in the round charts are included as well at a limited time price: fiberfoxstudios.etsy.com/list...

If you are new to overlay Mosaic Crochet, please visit the Mosaic Monday Playlist - you will find more than 20 beginner friendly, in-depth videos here INCLUDING 2 IN THE ROUND TUTORIALS: • Mosaic Monday - Mosai...
Mosaic crochet is great for all skill levels and can be used to create many different things such as blankets, pillows, purses/bags, totes and garments. You can crochet these patterns in any combination you would like or just choose one and make and entire project with the same design. The result will be an eye catching, geometric design that is unisex and versatile.
Suggested starting chains for various projects - counts include +4 at end:
Baby blanket: 116 chains depending on yarn size used
    Place mats: 60 chains
Table Runner: 60 chains for total width of table runner, you will then work the repeats to obtain the total length for your table.
Throw blanket : 172 chains, yarn size will affect total width and the number of repeats is up to you and will determine total length
Tote or Throw Pillow: 60 chains depending on yarn size used and desired size, create 2 and seam together
Makeup or Notions bag: 32, create 2 and sew together or see in the round info below
Scarf: 32 chains depending on yarn size used and desired width. I recommend size 3 light weight yarn or smaller for garments.
In the round projects - Slip stitch to first chain and you must work into that first stitch following the repeat given in the video:
Makeup or Notions bag: 56 chains and slip stitch to first chain.
Throw Pillow: 20" to 24" depending on yarn size used and tension chain 84
Cup Coozie or Holiday Candle band: 28 chains
Bag or Tote: 56 chains to 84 chains depending on desired size
Treat bags/Mini gift bags: 42 to 56 chains
You can create any project you like from Mosaic Crochet, these are just a few suggestions!
HOOK SIZE: I am using a 4mm hook in this tutorial, this is a Nelsonwood hook, I am not affiliated or sponsored. I am frequently asked what hook I'm using and where I found it, if you would like to see his work you can follow him in Instagram or visit his website www.nelsonwood.net.
I recommend using the below hook sizes depending on yarn used:
    3 DK yarn : 3.5mm to 4.5mm
    Size 4 Medium/worsted weight: 4.5mm to 5.5mm.
    Mixing 3 & 4 weight: 3.5mm to 4.5mm
THE YARN: I'm using size 3 and size 4 yarn, any brand will work as well as any size.
Hayfield Bonus Dk Extra Value in Cream
I Love this Yarn Prints in Botanical Blast
Note on mixing yarn sizes 3 (DK) & Size 4 (Medium Worsted weight): THE TRICK TO MIXING YARN SIZES IS JUST KEEPING YOUR TENSION EVEN AND USING THE SMALLEST SIZE HOOK RECOMMENDED FOR THE SMALLER YARN! You can use any yarn size you like and can use yarn that is all the same size, you do not have to mix yarn sizes.
    Project info and starting:
To begin your project you will chain in multiples of 14 plus 4 at the end to work a flat piece. You will skip the first chain and begin working in the second chain from the hook, ending up with an odd number of stitches. EXAMPLE: I chained 32 and had 31 stitches at the end of my first Foundation Row.
TO WORK IN THE ROUND: chain in multiples of 14 amd slip stitch to the first chain. begin working the repeat in the first stitch [same stitch you slip stitches into) and follow the Repeat as given in the video.
Stitches used in this project: Back Loop Single Crochet and Front Loop Double Crochet (drop down double crochet as I like to call it).
Please use #fiberfoxstudios when posting pictures of your work so I can see!

Oh Courtney what a nice pattern (again!)!! I'd loveee to make gift bags with this design...Do you have a tutorial on how it's done? It would be super to make little bags and line them with holiday material (if I can figure out how to do that too).. great idea to either put inside a Christmas stocking or just replace the traditional stocking with a gift bag crocheted with your design!

    • @FiberFoxStudios
      @FiberFoxStudios  3 года назад +3

Thank you Windy! I don't have a tutorial for this specific design in the round but all you have to do is leave off the +4 stitches. You just chain the multiple of 14 and slip stitch to format the ring. From there you work the repeats given in the video working in every single stitch to keep your count. I do have 2 in the round videos that will show you what I mean.you would just seam your bottom to make the little bag and could add a button for a closure. A star button would be super cute!

Love this just learning this technique. So is every other row always a solid color? Never have to cut and carry?

    • @FiberFoxStudios
      @FiberFoxStudios  Год назад +1

No you never carry your yarn in this type of Mosaic Crochet (overlay Mosaic). We work with a color A and a color B. Your odd number rows are one color or yarn (you can use color changing yarns) and your even number rows are the other color. This particular one is the solid white every other row but that's not like a rule you have to follow. I've got a playlist on here with color tip videos so you can see some other options in general since you are new. Linking playlist for ypu in case you are interested, 😁❤️ ruclips.net/p/PLU_G451k47sHKk03bYvCWpRbkSbDz2oSe

DOROTHY I AM SO SORRY! You know what I think happened is I made a mistake in editing and a couple of stitches are not shown so when we should be working together it jumps and at I'm on the last 3 or 4 stitches of the repeat all of sudden. But the recap does tell you what to do at least but you won't see it all. I have no idea how to fix that or if it's fixable at all. I think I would have to redo the entire thing. 😅 so so sooo sorry!!! I wish I had realized that months ago when I still had the video file on my phone
