Nike should show some love to Nelly. But if you think AF-1 blew up because of him, you are mistaking big time or you might be too young to know what you are talking about. AF-1 has always been a cult classic. Nelly deserves credit for possibly introducing the shoe to certain regions like maybe down south or west coast. But im from Chicago and I was wearing AF-1's since the early 90's. By the time that song came out I had already ran through 20-30 pairs.

No one in my area rocked Air Force 1’s until Nelly made that song, that’s why the price sky rocketed, Nelly deserves so much more from Nike but we all know Nike isn’t the most ethical company out there. When I think about my entire life and the rap game, no single person was as influential when it came to style as Nelly was.

No one in my area rocked Air Force 1’s until Nelly made that song, that’s why the price sky rocketed, Nelly deserves so much more from Nike but we all know Nike isn’t the most ethical company out there. When I think about my entire life and the rap game, no single person was as influential when it came to style as Nelly was.
I was low key mad when AF1 song came out, because only wore retro shoes in HS so I was already rocking them. They were $54.99 after the song immediately after the song $74.99

I like how he kept it 100 and that one point in time... before his song... NERDS rocked white forces. They were cheap at one point too. Reebok classics were a hood shoe and THE shoe in the hood along with KSWISS if you were in a fit. That required all white kicks. Time did move quickly.
