Hey everyone! Here's the link to part 2 a.k.a. how to maintain your hair throughout the week for longer braid-outs! ruclips.net/video/A7np5AYIZlA/видео.html&ab_channel=IfSheSoPleases
Im 4 years natural after a big chop and no one and I mean no one (other than my best friend that prompted me to go natural in the first place) has helped as much with the length retention that I have been noticing as much as you.. I had a very similar experience with try out knot-less braids and stuff for a more "Sexy/grown woman" look because for the longest my natural hair felt childish especially keeping it braided or twist with out extensions.. but ever since I've been braiding/twisting it up with out extensions, following you're wash day regimen, using grease and leaving my hair in those once "childish'" styles for at least a week.. I've seen so much retention and I'm so excited also I got my density back!!!
I understand the feeling. I've also been wearing my hair in cornrows with beads without extensions to retain more length and increase moisture retention daily. It looks childish but idc I'm trying to reaching tailbone length by August. I'm currently midback length after my cut. Happy hair growing!!
Omgosh thank-you for such a lovely comment 😭 I am so glad that this channel has helped you! I feel the same way about hairstyles, I used to feel childish as well with my own hair, but then I realised that these thoughts aren't real ~ Also, looking youthful has it's positives 😁 I am so glad that you've seen a lot of retention! Wishing you the best going forward as well :)
You probably already know this (this is the first time I’m watching one of your videos), but a great hack for removing the tangles that form at the very end of braids or twists after a few days: coat the ends with hair butter right before taking them down- I use regular Shea butter. The ends will literally unravel. If it’s stubborn, lube it up with a bit more butter. This is also really effective for unraveling dreadlocks. Love your video and definitely taking a few tips from it ❤️
I’ve been looking at natural hair on RUclips for years and I’ve never been able to find someone whose hair looks almost identical to mine until now. This just made me so much more excited to watch your videos! My hair has plateaued at mid back length with some areas reaching waist length. I have been neglecting my hair, and it’s caused a lot of breakage over the years. You’ve definitely motivated me to take better care of my hair. Thank you for your videos ❤️
Thank you for sharing your regimen. I have 3c/4a low porosity hair. My hair does love grease and shea butter. I will definitely adopt this regimen. P.s I love how simple and cute your makeup is 💗
Very nice regimen and it is obviously working well for you, TFS. Love your wash-n-go it is beautiful. However, I understand that they do not work for you as a regular style. I wear a wash-n-go almost all the time, but my scalp is oily and I need to shampoo every 4 - 5 days. I'm very grateful that it hasn't stopped my length retention or resulted in a bunch of tangles and ssk's.
@1GoldenBreeze. What's your secret for avoiding tangles and ssk's? I do a thorough detangle before washing. . Somewhere between shampoo and conditioning, the hair just starts to web together. Too many times I have to cut 2 inches or more of knots out. I do not know how to get the knots out.
@@cathyfreeman8608 I don't think I have a secret. I can only tell you what I do. Every 4 - 5 days I shampoo, condition, detangle, and add my stylers while in the shower. I detangle with conditioner in my hair and use either my Felicia Leatherwood or my Tangle Teaser. Then I get out of the shower and either diffuse or sit under my hooded dryer to dry my hair. Currently, I go to my stylist about every 6 months or so for a trim.
omg, EXO OT12 🤣🤣 i still have my sweatshirt with Tao’s name on the back lol. i’ve been a stretched hair only natural for a couple years now and it has been live saving and changing, lol. I might give ur regimen a try since my current one uses a blowdryer and i do want to try to find alternatives to heat tools. edit: i just saw ur shirt is Sehun, my other bias🤭
Omgosh hahaha Actually Tao was my fave! And Sehun was my number 2 lol. Since I already had a ring with Tao's name and birthday at the time, I decided to buy the Sehun sweatshirt hahaha Yes, please give my regimen a try
Nope, I haven't flat-ironed my hair at all actually I just trim while curly, I am not concerned with having extremely even hair as it doesn't show when curly
We are hair twins!! Lol 😂. My hair behaves in the exact same way. It’s also the longest it’s ever been. Only difference is that I don’t keep my braids in for days but I’m going to try that because I’ll probably be able to keep it styled for longer. From now on when people ask my for my routine I’ll just send them this video because we pretty much do the exact same thing with different products ♥️. Thanks for sharing girl!! Excited to try the new tweak.
This is a very thorough video, thank you! I cannot go overnight with a cold/ very damp head of hair. What would be your suggestion with some sort of heat application? I like a hooded bonnet, heated, at the end of styling.
ive got a question, what kind of tangles were you getting at the ends of your hair that you needed the flexi rods? i dont really notice my ends tangling so maybe i dont need them or maybe im just not noticing them lol. i do get fairy knots sometimes
Hi Joslyn Thanks for your comment! I have a naturally dry scalp, so really, the best way that I avoid getting dandruff etc is rehydrating it through washing
Does it matter what type of product has honey in it? Maybe a shampoo or rinse out conditioner? Your daily moisturizer from Urban Hydration has honey as a main ingredient. Would that matter since your hair is sealed after the moisturizer with a butter?
I haven't noticed a difference when my shampoo or deep conditioner has honey in it. Yes, the one from Urban Hydration has honey as a main ingredient, but it's a little further down on the list than the other product I tried (which was the Camille Rose Honey Leave-In- which is basically ALL HONEY 😭) I didn't get the same results with the Urban Hydration one, luckily :)
Hi, I wonder, do you experience webbing and how do you prevent it? And if it has occurred, how do you deal with it? With webbing I mean tiny clusters of random hairs clumped together into a tangle, all throughout the hair, making detangling with a comb without breakage impossible (unless you want to pull out those trapped healthy hairs from the root, like a wax or tweezer would) , I thought it was the nature of my 4b 4c hair but our hair is similar and you retain length, the webbing has caused my unnecessary setbacks causing me to big chop my hair multiple times out of frustration☹️ now I’m at a bob length approaching collar bone but with bad ends from the constant webbing/clustering and me picking at those ends. I don’t want to cut my hair again, I blow dried my hair and started finger detangling strand by strand basically for hours so now 90% of the webbing is gone but I want to prevent it now :) I’m trying to keep it braided and stretched but I’m afraid at my next wash day it’ll still start to web again because of shrinkage (I do wash my hair in twists)
Hi Vasty~ I actually had to google 'webbing' as I wasn't sure what it is. Looking at what I've seen, yes, I do experience my hair clustering and tangling. It happens to me a lot when I don't wash my hair for a while. I think for me, keeping my hair stretched, but not long enough for it tangle, really helps me. I may do a video on this as I am not if what I'm explaining makes sense. I also found that using a comb while detangling basically would rip out my hair because of this. So one of my tips would actually be to finger-tangling, and form natural clumps as you do so. Let me start planning a video :) Thanks so much for your comment and I hope this helps!
Are you low, mid, or high density? I would love to try your regimen, nice and simple and clearly VERY effective. But I'm wondering if the amount of plaits you use would work for me, my density is high so I wouldnt get a good stretch from only 6 braids (maybe 10 would work, but wouldnt be done as quickly lol)
Hi! Love your videos, but I have a quick question: You mention it's not good to use too much humectan, but most of the products you mention have honey, which I thought is a humectan?! Or is it only for the leave-in conditioner?

Haha Thanks Gabby!
I love this video ❤ will be using these tips!
I was surprised to see at the end that you're a kpop fan. I have the same sweatshirt but with Luhan's name on the back :)
Hahaha yes, I was a huge fan in my early twenties
ive got a question, what kind of tangles were you getting at the ends of your hair that you needed the flexi rods? i dont really notice my ends tangling so maybe i dont need them or maybe im just not noticing them lol. i do get fairy knots sometimes
My ends just generally tend to tangle together so I always had to cut them off,
if yours don't tangle, that's a good thing

I think I was using a Head and Shoulders or something like that. I found that I needed something quite harsh as the grease was VERY hard to wash out
Thanks for sharing 🎉❤
You are so welcome
When i wash my hair and leave in twist my ends seem to shed, do you have any advice

Hi. Do you get fairy knots? Mine are driving me crazy!
Yes I do! Definitely less because I keep my hair stretched! But I just cut them out when I see them

what do you do in terms of your scalp? how do you keep it moisturised because suffer from dry scalp
Hi Alicia
I have a very dry scalp, and the only way I keep it moisturised is by washing often
Please do you apply your hair butter on your scalp also?
Hi Maggi
No I don't , only on my hair :)
Amazing amazing❤

I usually wear my ends tucked away in braids or buns
You only use your fingers to detangle?never a comb or detangling brush ?
I use only my fingers 99% of the time
