My husband purchased a set for me for Mothers Day! It arrived today and I already want to open the package 🤪🤣🤣 I've read and saw many RUclips videos on this and I'm excited to get my hands on it 😍😍😍
Hi, thanks so much for the video! I’m really hoping you can give me some direction as to which color liquid wood I should choose to help repair my 100 year old Douglas Fir floor, freshly sanded it is a blonde color not as yellow as pine but close. I’m wondering which colors you used on the dresser? Your finished dresser is a close match to that orange Amber patina on the Swedish finish fir floor I’m trying to rehab. Thank You
I bought Retique It in light wood and applied two coats to a metal surface table, I didn't sand before applying Old Masters gel stain and it was difficult to get the stain to work, the foam brush was leaving marks and trying to wipe it off was leaving marks. The gel stain just wouldn't glide easily and would skid on the Retique It surface so I'm trying to understand what I did wrong. Should I have sanded before applying the gel stain on to the Retique It surface? Also, the Minwax polycrylic gave me hazy streaky results I can see more of the brush marks. This time I did sand between coats with 400 grit, but now I'm not sure I should have sanded at all since I wasn't working with wood. It's just so frustrating cuz I want Retique It to work for me but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I emailed customer service for help and never got a reply.
Hi Robert, Retique It Liquid Wood is the product you paint on then use a wood stain on it. (Other than MinWax) The best stains are Varathane Premium, Sherwin Williams and any Gel Stain.
Wow. This helped not at all. Not specific enough. Can you use any kind of paint? How is the grain made? Just putting on a stain after the paint? I am more confused after watching the video and reading the comments😢
Hi Crystal, We are very sorry for your inconvenience. We have found that it doesn't work well with some colors of MinWax stain. What brand of stain where you using?
Our bed came out fabulous. My husband used bleached wood retique it , then general finishes walnut gel stain, then white washed. It came out gorgeous
That's wonderful, Gina. We would love for you to share your pictures on our facebook group. facebook.com/groups/liquidwood

The best stain to use is Varathane Premium Wood Stain (Found at any Home Depot) Sherwin Williams and any Gel Stain work very well too.
