Nice job, nice look! I have dabbled using Retique It and also find it easy to work with. It saved a messy top on a side table…😂.. thanks for introducing new products and how to use them! 😘 -Jill
I got a Retique It water based stain and last year and was sooooo impressed with the product and the applicator they sent. I felt like the product was worth the price and it is a high quality product. I look forward to trying some new things. The table turned out amazing. You always have such good vision! ❤
I live in DFW also. I have been praying for relief & this morning we got lots of rain & cooler temps! I have 5 pieces in my garage that have been waiting for cooler weather:)
I am so glad you made this video. I've been looking at the Retique it for quite some time but have been afraid to pull the trigger. I have an 80's orange secretary that has such sentimental value to me that I could never consider parting with it just because it is out of style. I think I am ready to go for it. I was bouncing back and forth between sanding and staining, painting or this method. Sanding down the entire piece seemed to be so much work as there is a lot of detail. Painting didn't seem right decor-wise because I have so much painted furniture already and it would just be too much. Thank You!
Love all the products, so hard to buy verity here in Australia. And of course anything imported does cost a lot here... But I must investigate. Thank you it looked lovely when finished.
It was awful in Wisconsin too...90's kept me from enjoying the outdoors as much as I'd like. Maybe the lighting on your hard work was too bright this time, it didn't show it off for me...but, as usual, you know your buyers, and that's what makes you so successful. I simply love your drive and creativity:)
Thank you for this video, I’ve watched it three times and I think I will do this technique on a buffet cabinet. I am a beginner at this and my only question is: would I need more than two coats of the primer as the cabinet is a very dark wood?
Way better and a cross between wood and paint with the natural look. Proof is in the profit, suppose. Would you recommend as a beginner to do this or paint? Lost my job due to recent illness and still recovering. This is only side hustle I can manage at the moment. Remember those chairs? 😅Yeah-lol-those chairs.Paint or Retique?
I like the Retique it bc I feel like the stain choices are made to compliment the primer color however you could do this with a tan base and a complementary water based stain as well!
Nice work as usual! You may need to think about installing an HVAC mini split or window unit in your garage. I know there will be times you will need ventilation but you can at least paint in some comfort. It sure has been too hot in SC too.
I could not see...did the original wood grain show through? I did a table just like that as my fist commissioned piece when I started flipping last year. Client wanted a baby blue to match a wall. Would not have been my choice. Loved your color!
i love watching your flips...it makes me want to try...but i must ask.....you're dressed so nicely..how do you not get messy?? lol i do resin and i end up with it (and glitter) in my hair and all over...lololzz thanks so much for sharing.
we have an ugly 1980s Pier Wall style oak bedroom set. While I have an idea how we could modernize two of the dressers, I have no idea what to do with the wall unit. My husband has some kind of an attachment to it (I don't know, too expensive or was built to last) but I don't know how to change it into a nice looking headboard and two nightstands. Have you ever worked with a furniture set like that?
Love all of your flips but, against popular opinion, I did not care for this piece. I’m sorry. The finished color did not remind me of raw wood. The tint of that paint combined with the stain, made the finish look more milky orange.
Was hoping the parquet design would still show on top . It's nice though if you like the ultra modern look .. Doubt I'd pay 2000 for the showroom one thinks it's all a rip off with manufacturers ! old furniture made much better .. nice work btw !
Great Job !! I just bought 3 end tables at a yardsale for $5 ea. My 1st pieces to paint & resell... One of them has the heavy marble top. It comes off easily but im not sure what i should do with it. Its in the brown family so maybe paint the table like the color u did this sofa table. Is the internet the only place to get the brand of paints u used.
You can! Just a light scuff sand and paint over it! Here is the look again but this time using the graining tool-ruclips.net/video/PSqwRjLfQNU/видео.html
Lol I had furniture like that in my house ha😂. My question isn't on that piece My question is I found on the side of the road a dresser which I found the stamp underneath was made in 1920. Unfortunately back then they were still cheesy with how they made the furniture. The whole top piece is veneer. I'm not going to take it off to replace it with a new piece not my expertise and not in my price range. My question to you is there are areas up top where the veneer splintered off and is missing. What product can I fill in those missing pieces with? Up in Connecticut There's hardly anybody who does flips. I wish there was more of a audience as I wouldn't mind doing what you do. Thanks Nancy from Connecticut
thanks for the comment Nancy. If you are not going to repatch with veneer, the best option would be to bondo the areas and then sand smooth. You will have to paint it though bc bondo can not be stained. hope that helps!
Looks great Kara. The before was pretty awful. You turned it into a very trendy piece that will grace somebodies home for a long while. Another great job!
I watch several furniture refinishing channels- most tell the cost of the furniture piece but they don’t break down the cost of all products used to refinish furniture- if there is anyway you would be willing to start giving the cost of supplies even if it was the cost altogether not necessarily broken down- it would give a more realistic cost to refinish a piece- thank you for your posts- I really like them 😊
thanks for being here! Sometimes I do, I just don't on every video. People want to argue with you about costs a lot so it can get exhausting lol So I take a break from that & only do it every few videos.
It looks much better but if you had bleached it, you would have been able to showcase that chevron pattern and that would have been more betterer. 🤷🏼♀️
Her work is good but she continues to feature her own face while talking instead of what the others who flip furniture do by talking off screen while showing the work. Obnoxious.
What did you think of this easy trick? You can find your Retique It kit here! amzn.to/3r5WDhw
The new color look so good!
Thanks friend ;)

Thanks for watching! Hope you have a great weekend!
Working on ‘80s furniture is good for a few reasons but I really like that you don’t have to worry about lead! It looks nice & seemed easy. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I appreciate you tuning in! Hope to see you next time!
Oh gosh I was unaware of lead in old furniture I have bought several pieces should I be concerned or is it fine?
Oh no, you must certainly check for lead in older pieces. This is the kit that I use. Very simple to do. amzn.to/3teJDXL
❤ the new look on this table!! I can’t wait to try it! I too have had to bring in projects into the house because of the heat. So ready for fall! LOL

I think we are finally going to get some relief! Ugh that was a long summer!
I’ve seen so many of these tables in my lifetime and I love what you did with it!!
Thanks so much!
Lol! Good to see my Oak 80’s console table is of value…to me!
Beautiful!!! What a great product! Thanks for toughing the heat for us 😊. Great job ❤
Glad you like it!
Love your content. Get an AC unit for the garage.

you can do it! It will take a few tries to get the grain right but it is so easy to start over and just keep practicing til you like it!
Oh, you need to do a long stroke with the brush and product. I love that prodcut.

I just love watching your videos. I look forward each week to seeing what you come up with.
Thank you so much! That made my day!
I hope I didn’t come across negatively. I liked it so much I’m going with the kit. Thanks for the link and suggestions.😊
Oh certainly not! No worries! Enjoy and I hope you end up with a beautiful project you are proud of!

Crazy how much better it looks! Nice flip and nice profit.
I agree!! Thanks!

Nice job as usual and an easy way to flip and make some quick money.

Super cool. Thank you so much for sharing. 👍🧡🤙
Thanks for watching!
So cool!!!
Really nice
Very nice job!!
Thank you!
That's amazing!😊
Glad you think so!
Good job. News flash we have a cold front on the way. Texas high tomorrow 94 degrees. ha ha
I know!! I said I’m going out there tomorrow for sure ! Lol

I would think that adding wood glue to that full length linear Crack and clamping it would strengthen it better before adding the wood fill, no?
Yea I tried that but noting moved. It seemed to be just the laminate cracking not the frame itself

Yes! I wished that too was real so I could have sanded and stained so it showed. I also can not believe how much they sell for these days!

You can! Just a light scuff sand and paint over it! Here is the look again but this time using the graining tool-ruclips.net/video/PSqwRjLfQNU/видео.html
To me it looks like it is painted a beige tone. Does it look wood grain in person?
Very nice. I had to double take to make sure it was you using a paint brush 😂
I know right!! lol

You should put a mini split in your garage-you work hard and deserve some AC.
I have to open my garage so much,,,I can't decide if it would be worth it! Thanks for watching!
It just looks painted. Would have been much prettier with the original wood grain showing. Worth an hour of sanding.
It looks much better but if you had bleached it, you would have been able to showcase that chevron pattern and that would have been more betterer.
🤷🏼♀️
couldnt bleach it....its not real wood.
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture Awww, that’s a shame. The 80s were a rough time for furniture, shoulder pads and hair.
hahahha so very true!
Also, have you only used the air pressure sprayer or have you tried just the electric sprayer?
Great result and equally great profit! Hope your 100° days go away soon.
I hope so too! Thanks for watching
Hi, Im wondering about your preference for the orbital sander. Do you find this works better than the sheet or palm sander?
I use a Makita orbital. That's all I have ever used really. It's a workhorse!. Thanks for watching!
Looks the same

Just out of curiosity, do you also paint the underside or just leave as is (with its orange glow)?
No I leave it as is.
