Hello and I hope you have had a fabulous day. I'm still sick but I'm so grateful to have these videos to watch and get to listen to you chat. Thank you for posting and sharing your time and talent.
I know it’s late but I just purchased your Wing Clipper and love it!! I am working on a table runner and for the first time my flying geese haven’t lost their points.
Deb, I love your products and methods! I love not wasting the fabric that other methods waste. And your videos are always so clear! I met you in Wisconsin at Nancy Zieman’s Quilt Expo and have since moved to the Pacific Northwest. Perhaps you’ll come to an event in Portland one of these days!
I have been Tuckerizing for quite some time as my brain doesn't do 7/8's and I can count on your tools to make if perfect. Thank you for these videos - they are always helpful!
I am now using the rulers I have from studio 180 for all my patterns,,,thank you so much for getting me out of my comfort zone of following patterns the way the creator has you make the project. I am a perfectionist to a fault,,but I believe that if I am spending my hard earned money on fabric ,,I want the project to come out looking good. Lena
I too hate waste and avoid any patterns that use snowballing or flying geese and they discard so much fabric. I use the x4 method for the fg method and find it works for me. I am considering getting the wing clipper though to make life easier. Got a load of other Tucker rulers and find them really easy to use. I've just bought EQ8 as well so I can determine the block sizes and units needed that are the most common sizes.
I have “tried” the 4 small squares and one large square method in making 4 flying geese and never could have it come out correctly. Very frustrating. I’ve also done foundation paper piecing (I happen to like FPP!) works for me. But I need to give Wing Clipper method a try (yes, I’ve had these tools for several years but, just haven’t used them -yet).::I’ve always preferred cutting a bit larger and trimming down because there is no way I can do “precision sewing” as an author has said anyone can do - I can’t do it no matter how hard I try - even had a “discussion” years ago with a guild member about this precision method and finally showed her how my eyes dint work well together and why,I can’t do this. Thank you Deb for making tools that I can really accomplish perfect pieces without frustration!!!
You will get great results with this tool--and get them consistently. Just remember to nudge the small squares in a wee bit and follow the trimming instructions (it is easy to do it backwards).
@@notesfromleisa-land yes! That little nudge in from the edges is,so,ER hung I’ve never done and need to remember to do. We are “conditioned to line up the corners, etc. so just remembering this little tip is the most important help. Thanks.
I, too, happen to love FPP. There are some situations where FPP works best/faster. For instance, a column of stacked FG, but the Wing Clipper tools are so good. Try one of the patterns to get some experience.
Whenever I see folks lamenting in comments I recommend the wing clipper tool. I used this tool to make about 150 geese...I think only one was wonky but it was my error. Trim slivers, save tears.
I have always found this method confusing. Trying to remember which square is the ground and which is the sky. The method leaves all the edges on straight of the grain so that is good, but it has about 10%-15% more waste than our method so that isn't as great. But if you use it and get it great. Each quilter will find methods that they prefer to use, there are so many different ones for just that reason. Find what you like to use and what is easy for you.
You want to get the Wing Clipper I as it has all the common sizes on it that designers us. Only get the Wing Clipper II if you need a unit size that is on there as not many designers use those sizes but they do come up occasionally which is why we have the tool.
Hands down your wing clipper tool is the BEST way to make flying geese units! It's awesome. You are awesome! Love your videos.

You ruler makes every “goose” the same size! Perfect.
Thanks for the video Deb! I feel like I can’t quilt without these tools! I think it’s the one tool I use the most! Looking forward to your next video!
Fantastic video. Thank you very much.

Hi Deb! I only use your tools for making flying geese units. I have them both and can’t live without them!

У вас всегда все так, Деб! Спасибо за это видео с вашими разъяснениями!
Thank you

How do you feel about the Eleanor Burns method - pros and cons?

I'm confused which tool to get #1 or #2? what's the difference
