Alien Romulus is not too far away from hitting theatres and having enjoyed the two trailers for the film thus far, I think Fede Alvarez's movie could revive the franchise.
It already has IMO, extremely impressed by the trailer itself, and I can just sense the passion behind it from the director Fede Alvarez. Little things including the blue mist in the hive - a detail NONE of the sequels have captured, super heavy focus on the Facehugger - most definitely a personal fear of his, X-Ray if the chestbursting process - probably a curiousity he always had. Supposedly, the OG xenomorph ‘the Big Chap’ will come back, and that actually was what me and a lot of Alien fans have wondered - did it survive? Could it have been salvaged in deep space and get studied? All of this screams a film that a true Alien fan since childhood was finally able to make.
I think so because it seems like it's finally back to its horror roots rather than focusing on David's feelings and existential and philosophical questions about creation. Those aspects never belonged in the Alien franchise in the first place imo.
Well we won’t know until August when it’s released, but I do see a great deal of potential. I’ve heard the rumors that the Big Chap may make an appearance and that alone is very intriguing. Out of all the Aliens we’ve seen over the years the original is the scariest in my opinion. Methodical, patient, quiet, resourceful and very deadly are its traits and those traits make him a formidable threat to deal with. Yes, the Queen from Aliens showed similar traits, but for some reason for me the Big Chap was just scarier. The Queen had clear reasons for her actions, but what was the Big Chap’s reasoning? Did it view the crew of the Nostromo as a threat? Was it going to use them as a means to reproduce? Was it going to eat them? We don’t know and that is scary. I am very hopeful that this new film will add a new dimension to the Alien we all thought we knew.
This. It looks to be similar to the Alien Isolation game. I mean to be fair, even the original alien movie did have jump scares, but it truly mastered that sense of dread which is much harder to pull off than something jumping at your face.
@@mattlawson714 spot on! I'm fine with them IF they're essentially to release tension and get to something happening, not just like a "BOOOOO! JKLOL didn't mean to scare ya as I came around the corner in this ultra close up shot for a cheap, pointless scare"

I’m gonna place a bet that at some point this new teenage crew trips over a recording from the original movie, that of Ripley signing off as the only survivor😊
I'm a huge fan of Alien and Aliens, being old enough to have seen Alien in cinemas on release. Both are amongst my favourite films of all time and get regularly rewatchecd . . . . so I'll be giving this remake, rehash, repeat, nostalgic nod or whatever nonsense they want to call it, a very wide berth. No thank you, I'm done with lame, lazy sequels, prequels and remakes of what were outstanding original stories. Everything since the first two has done nothing but undermine the brilliant vision of the original idea. And Cailee Spaeney as a ripoff Ripley clone . . . . give me a break. So no, I'm out. Great video and synopsis though :)
We had an Alien movie 6 years ago , the franchise hasn’t died , sure there’s been lacklustre entry’s but people always want to see new takes on the Alien They just don’t pump them out like other franchises

I hope this is good and I really mean that when I say it but let's be honest folks Disney now owns the rights to this so there is at least a 50% chance that this is actually going to be the beginning of the end like for real the beginning of the end for this franchise because that's what Disney does.
I’m sure it’ll be good as to something is better than nothing however I’m sure it’ll disappoint like movies nowadays seem to do. Whether it wont please the now a day people or the older fans of the original.
While the alien does look similar to big chap from the first film, it looks very different in the shot where it's mouth is wide open. The mouth looks a lot bigger and less biomechanical.
Ive recently seen the latest PLANET OF APES expecting a story consearning some slave apes joing with humans to defeat a fascist imperial Ape leader. ALIEN COVENANT wasnt that bad better than the bombastic abstract Prometheus, which far more questions than answers, covenment was a return to the original film, not going for uninteresting mystery hard to believe it was the same Director Ridly Scott obviously knew he must use a different style & approach
Thank god ridley Scott isn't bastardising the franchise even more 🙏 hopefully this will be decent. Alien covenant was not even about the alien, it appeared 3/4 of the way through the film and served zero purpose. was a mess of a film.
