    I'm not an off-roader, and I've had a lot of distrust regarding EV's. Your review was excellent and insightful. Reviews from real users help those of us who are EV-hesitant to begin seriously considering them. Thank you for a wonderful review.

    Another great video. Couldn’t agree more on the “outlets on” battery drain. It’s painful to watch it loose so much overall charge, just from keeping something small plugged in. Can’t wait for your next video. See you on the SoCal trails!

    good content.. great intro.. good editing. we picked up R1S this last week.. so far its meeting our expectations. Not perfect but it does everything we need for our family and more. I would recommend the Dual Motor R1S over the quad. More range and a bit lighter.

    I have some aftermarket wheels with Wildpeaks on them. The best offset I could find at the time was 28mm. It protects the wheels since the tires stick out a bit, but I can’t use Low or Lowest while driving. So the stock AT package is the best.

    I’m able to get the tonneau cover to close by pushing down on the cover joints as it retracts into the collecting area at the bottom of the back windshield (don’t know the actual name of it). Not ideal but it works. That and greasing the tracks with dry WD40 from time to time. Still love my R1T despite this and some other little quirks. Great video.

    The RAN looks to be expanding fairly quickly now. I agree with the tailgate issues and will add that the top protector is absolute garbage and should've just been molded as 1 piece with the main flat part. (Mines been replaced 3 times and is coming apart again. I absolutely love everything else about it though. FYI, a Harbor Freight Hercules soft/ridged tool box fits perfectly in the front center floor console for large bottles and has tons of pockets for extra storage.

      I like to describe the Driver+ system as reactive instead of active. I’ve had many instances of being a pong ball bouncing off the lane lines. Does good with gentle curves and straight lines

  • @JHGC80

    That truck is definitely cool. But like any other product it has its faults. The closing of the tailgate is solved very badly when dirt falls inside the car. I hope there's some way to get in there and clean it out once in a while. Anyway, I hope Rivian will be sold in Europe soon.

    Which iPhone mount is that? Great video BTW. As a Tesla owner who's frustrated with waiting for the CT and it's overall look, I've been considering this. I don't know that I can let go of AutoPilot though. I use it so often that it will be greatly missed. Another user mentioned that this may be their reason to go back to Tesla when the CT is released.

    • @ChargeOverland
      @ChargeOverland  9 месяцев назад +1

      iPhone mount is the Spigen OneTap Pro - got it on Amazon 👍🏻
      You’re the second person to mention AutoPilot being a big feature and I can definitely understand that. Hoping the Rivian gets a lot better with their Highway Assist but would be a very difficult task to catch up with Tesla.

    not sure if you mentioned it, but what kind of offroading are you doing and how do you find the range gets impacted by it? just watched your vid with Justin and saw you dropped like 10% over the course of the trip, do you find your range increases a lot because you're moving so slowly? or does it maybe go down more per mile because its so difficult.
    offroading in 4L for me sucks back gasoline so I typically bring spare gas, but you are kind of on your own here for that. how many miles of offroading do you feel comfortable doing before you get any kind of range anxiety?

    • @ChargeOverland
      @ChargeOverland  7 месяцев назад

      I’ve done a variety of trails but for sure the more challenging terrain uses battery faster. For me a rough estimate would be on difficult trails I can probably cover 100-150mi and less challenging stuff more around 200-240mi.

      When I bought the truck last year only the Launch Edition was available so most things came standard. Definitely a little different now with the options and Dual Motor / Quad motor. This video I did last year talks about my exact spec:

    Yo. you are offroading so be ready for damage, scratches, and dings. Especially on the rims. come on man!!! Keep it on the pavement if you don't want any of that, haha. I have dings all over my rims and rubicon.
    Honestly thought this truck was ugly but its grown on me. I like all the storage space.

    • @ChargeOverland
      @ChargeOverland  9 месяцев назад +1

      I definitely know damage is inevitable but shouldn’t necessarily be SO easy for it to happen. My Rubicon has much beefier tires and the wheel has more dish so really takes a lot to do some damage. Either way it’s a great truck and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it🤘🏻

    Agree with all you said. Lots of storage but annoying not having a traditional glovebox. As someone else mentioned, I’d recommend the upcoming dual motor over our quad. The only reason why I may part with my R1T is because I love, trust, and miss Tesla’s autopilot so much and have been so disappointed by Rivian’s drive-assist system for the exact reasons you mentioned. For long road trips I would give up all these awesome R1T features just to have autopilot back even if it means trading it in for an ugly cyber truck.

    • @ChargeOverland
      @ChargeOverland  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah if you are out on longer road trips it’s great to have reliable autopilot. Not sure I could get a cybertruck just based on how it looks BUT I’m sure it’ll be a very fun truck to drive.
