  • These pigs (Idaho Pasture Pigs) might be the perfect backyard pig. They thrive on grass and don’t tear up the yard. But, can I get the best of both worlds? Could I keep them on grass, but also use them to till in the forest? Let’s see…

    Hey quick tip with basil pinch the top two leaves off when they are both 1 cm long, doing so will cause the basil to make two shoots from that spot so you get more basil for your work!

    ****
    For the Sheep-shaw, these are 26inch flat free, 300 lb cap (each) wheel replacements. Mount/Weld/clamp on old Bicycle forks.
    It will be more than 6x easier/less stress on the frame. $55 for each wheel. But it will be a totally diff machine to move. Try this, drag a bicycle sideways...that is what, 20 lbs? It is not easy. But not at 1000lbs. That is the Sheep shaw with smaller wheels.
    What does that sheep cage weigh? Now, drag that bike in a straight line, even with 200 lbs on it. It wants to roll. With 6 wheels, no sags, no snags, you will need a set of spikes to lock it down, each time you now park it! It will roll so easy~
    **** Just an idea. Hope it helps too. 300 lbs x 6 = 1800 lbs cap. Nowhere near a strain either; will extend its life also! ****

    I feel like you need jacks on your wheels so you can adjust the wheel heights. It will be more money up front, but it would eliminate a lot of your issues

    Have ben weld the castors on a peice of all thread. Then weld a nut on the frame then you could adjust the height with a socket and impact driver based on age of sheep.

    Hi Justin, I've been watching your channel for over a year now. I absolutely love all that you're doing! My wife and I are a part of Akron Permaculture in Ohio. We homesteaded for 26 years. We just organic garden currently. I had a thought about your Luchadores pen. Have you ever thought about a third cable that attaches in the middle, just above that center wheel of the pen and runs back to the center of your existing cable? Just a thought. You have an incredible family and you love them so well and you guys are making a difference for many! May God continue to bless you, Todd Roberts

    Thank you Rhodes family, for filling a void during this oppressive shutdown. Seeing your piglets reminds me of the days when are kids were young, and we had many animals. We had a Red Duroc (sp?) we named Hamlet. My youngest spent a lot of time sitting with Hamlet in a playpen. She got so attached, that was one pig we had to sell rather than butcher.

    Hey lily, some cows do have extra teats!!! They are called trick teats and they are just for decoration!

  • @davidkunkle405
    @davidkunkle405 4 года назад +1

    If you added a third tether to the center wheel, when your pulling the ring along it will go much smoother. Currently the bind is causing that wheel to tilt down digging in instead of tilt up to ease that pressure on the tire. The fact the tire is deflated is the indicator of the fault, putting the tire on a post without the tether will only amplify the fault, not ease the pressure on it.
    The tether may be enough with an inflated tire to help reduction the friction as it will tilt the angle of force up away from your tight grass, allowing the tire to roll significantly reducing force required as a result.

    OIC, very good reason to not pull the sheep pen with Sally. Well, hmmm. The extra ground clearance being raised up would help. But maybe putting larger wheels would help even more? I just hate to see ya'll struggle with it. I so enjoy and learn so much from your wonderful videos!
