Thanks for the video. I have the 35mm for my FX30 and yes I use it on my A7iv. I find they provide a fun shooting experience but since my manual focus skills aren't great they can be frustrating as well. As you mentioned at the price it's worth a shot if you think you might want to get into cinema lenses. Cheers.

As a DP/Director we are not looking for sharp in a cinema lens. Soft and smooth is the preferred. Sharp works for product shoots like cars, jewelry and so on. Not so much on people. Part of having a cinematic look is a lens that isn’t perfect.

Exactly my thoughts. The worst lens that you can get for a cinema work is stupidly sharp sigma.

I metaphorically spit out my drink at the price for the set of four. That's insanely cheap, even if their performance is not quite there. I expected it to be closer to $5k, not $1500. Impressive!

I liked the skit. The combination of shots gave me a feel for these lenses. Not sure if you shot it all wide open on each lens, but the variety was helpful. The focus breathing wasn't perfect, but it's decent! Quite. Especially for the price. Yeah, not for photographers. And a word of advice to anyone getting them. Make a short film, shoot a skit! Nice job.

You're absolutely right, manual cinema lenses should be of identical dimensions for easier and faster work, and I'm surprised that 7artisan didn't take care of that. Otherwise, the image quality itself is decent considering the price. I especially liked the dreamy look of the 50mm T1.05.
    Great video, thanks.

Well, I do like shooting with manual vintage lenses but I always find difficult to find nice super wide angle vintage lenses so the 12mm it's a perfect match with my vintage lenses set. Also it's the cheapest! Shooting automatic razor sharp lenses ain't everything with Sony. Even with the super fast autofocus, AF is not always the better choice when you are shooting video and having a cheap and good video lens like those is a great option.

Hello. You have the visión and the spectrum set, how are they working together? I know, one is aps-c and the second is full frame, but did the gears are located at the same distances? Did they have color shift between them? And so on... It can be a very interesting video. Both set are incomplete, but i think it can be a Nice aps-c set, mixing both together. What do You think about it? Regards.

Think the 12mm here is something most APSC bodies dont have at all, wide angle and not really dark lenses, sony is the only one with this with the 11mm 1.8.
    Fuji, canon dont have this.
Panasonic actually does with the m4/3 with the 9mm lens but hear its hard to get hold of.

I do have respect for the Chinese manufacturers and their pursuit of unique, affordable, at times optically great (in some regards) lenses. Their priorities do elude me. From typos in their marketing materials, through de-clicked apertures and slip-on, slide-in or even screw-in lens caps all the way to short focus throws, no weather sealing and, of course, no pins (with some standouts). To make, and soberly send out for review, a pelican case for CINE lenses (!) with an insert that fails to even remotely match the lens set is just on another level. I do understand there are cultural differences. What kinda culture places no emphasis whatsoever on how things fit, tho?

The Japanese manufacturer had this reputation in the 70s and they did not give up and look where they are now. World renowned craftsmen. The quality from Chinese products will increase to Japanese level with time.
As an ethnic Chinese I know Chinese businessmen's mindsets. They want to profit maximally within the shortest period of time and do not care much about pretty much everything else, including legacy and the environment. Hope this will change soon.

@@ernestojuarez9296We of course do, and pretty good at that, but as a starting small company they do not have the resources to make up for the missing details, since doing so makes production much slower and lenses much much more expensive than they are right now, which is not good for company growth and survival. They can’t care for details if the company failed right?

It's too bad the 12mm is t2.9 but I know bright wide lenses aren't particularly easy to produce, as an example I recently got the Sony 14mm f1.8, and that was more expensive than all four of these, lol. Not a flex, it's just that in my case I take the tradeoffs that photo lenses have in order to have autofocus, and I really wanted a super wide full frame. This lens set is... I dont know, just a bit underwhelming. Even at the price point, I wish they were able to make their physical and optical characteristics more uniform, they're not offering much of an advantage other than T1.05 on the three.

Agree no sincere innovation. In this case samyang did better jon at least making it both af and somewhat manual (which is not entiry prefferable but something new at least). But honestly I am more proud of sirui and great joy with their relatively affordable anamorphic. Of course its 2.8 which is a bit alright but its still at least anamorphic. Though being honest t1.8 t2 is muuuch more prefferable hope for those to be released. I bought gj probably the most fun thing is its close to perfect no focus breathing, also they are wuite sharp. Bokeh is okay, somewhat better on darker moody places or maybe i should use matte box😊

When the manufacturer can't even get the foam case right for their lenses , that says a lot for the quality of their product. I mean it is just foam that you cut for the size of your lens, like WTF
