Awesome video bud! The FX30 is an amazing camera - especially for pros as well. Many people often oversee that pros love to have handy and light cameras besides heavy cinema rigs. This camera does just that. I bought it as a secondary camera and oh well, it is amazing! We should also mention the 14+ stops dynamic range that come with it for just something around 2000 bugs. Ofc that's not 15+ or more but it is well working and for 90% of the shots more than usable. I'm using it besides a Ronin 4D and man, the FX30 is so light weighted it's such a blessing!

Why not use the usb c connection with v mount instead of the dummy battery , that’s what I do and love it , I also don’t like messing with the battery slot , works just as good with my smallrig vmount to usbc , charges native Sony battery while filming
I have the FX30 since Aug and one thing that bugs me is that the footage shoot handheld is still pretty shaky even while using the active stablization...
For me I"m saving for the FX3 with an FX30 because the FX30 allows me to use one 35mm Sirui Saturn anamorphic lens and you can use Clear Zoom with the FX30 and get all the way up to 85mm lens, which saves $2200, so so the FX30 literally pays for itself, AND the FX3 is much smaller and lighter than two cinema lenses. I also love how my Sony 10-20mm f/4 PZ G lens turns into a 15-50mm full frame equivalent.

vlogging/documentary is definitely up this camera's alley. For sure the ZV-E10 will give you great results. If you're looking for that robust camera, the FX30 will definitely give you what you're looking for and allow you to grow. When I held onto my A7SIII for similar reasons I thought I would never grow into it (especially for the price point). The FX30 has very similar offerings for less and yet I feel like I spent more money because of how much more I use it. Plus if you decide to get an FX3 one day or even an FX6, you'll still be able to use your FX30 as a reliable second camera too. If you decide to get the FX30, there is a sale going on for the FX30 right now too. It's a good time to be looking for cameras, many options.
The ZVE1 makes it more difficult a decision for me. I can see the ergonomics are better on the FX30, but a lowlight capability of the ZVE1 is very reassuring. Gerald undone and Patrick Tomasso have done a video praising the FX30 stabilisation tho, they say its the best sony camera for quick stable clips. Question: I also have a falcam cage on my A7R5 - what is the handle you put on your cage.
The FX30 is a phenomenal camera but I am so happy I went with the ZV-E1. I found it for £1600 which was even cheaper than the FX30 for an identical sensor to the A7S3 while also having the AI chip from A7R5 (and all the other benefits like importing LUTs, etc), I mean, holy shit. I think if you don't need dual card slots and you're happy to leave the battery door open for longer than 1 hour continuous takes (this completely removes overheating), it is worth considering.
Leaving the battery door open is new trick I haven’t heard of. I should try that with my A6700. You got yourself a great deal! For me, I do need at least one camera with dual SD card slots and the FX30 is already one for me hehe.
@@MikeBSalazar I actually pre-ordered the A6700 and cancelled that pre-order when I learned about the ZV-E1's existence. I'm so happy with full frame, especially at a similar price to APS-C! - but yes, it's not a "pro" camera like the FX30 :) Let me know if the trick helps, not only does the ZV-E1 not overheat in a hot room and can record for over an hour and a half on 1 charge, I tested 4k30 streaming over USB-C and in 6.5 hours of streaming, battery dropped from 100% to 83% and there was no overheating - very happy with that! Those f/1.8 small primes are just night and day improvement vs even f/1.4 Sigma/Viltrox primes on APS-C and smaller too! - e.g. Sigma 16mm APS-C 72 x 92mm 405g vs Viltrox 24mm FE 71 x 82mm 381g.

Trust me - I will never own an Alexa - but it just points out how silly it is when people dismiss any Super35 sensor as not pro!
