how on earth is Alstott not mentioned ONCE!? The man dominated with a neckroll - scratch that, the man had an entire BACK NECK BRACE! Either way, put some respect on his name, he pounded out the yards with that thing on.
Every high school linebacker in the 90’s and early 2000’s had to have the giant cantilevered shoulder pads and cowboy collar with the jersey pulled over it. And the true animals had the full “billy goat” facemask
Good video, definitely takes me back a few years, I'm not sure if anyone represents the "Neck Roll" of today's athlete's, I mean who would go out looking like Jack Lambert lol
Maybe the neck roll is a missing component of concussion defense. They played with shitty helmets but that shock absorption from the roll had have an effect. With modern helmets and pads, a modern neck roll might just be that missing piece.
Players now don’t need it because they don’t have good tackling form. Plus with the changes in rules they basically made a good football hit/play illegal in todays game. With that being said today’s football is soft. Back in the day they had every pad they could get because they really got after it. The nfl is full of horrendous defensive and just overrated players. They need to bring real football back where you put your body on the line to win and it’s the price you pay to play the game. We don’t need more flags for “defenseless” player we need more hits.
They changed the rules because an alarmingly amount of NFL players have horrible brain injuries from repeated concussions. Football careers are short in the whole scope of life; you want guys to have a decent quality of life once they hang it up. You can argue that they have taken it too far before with the flags (and I'd agree with it,) but intentionally targeting the head of guys is something that doesn't belong in the game. Are you advocating that intentionally targeting people in their head to cause concussions is something you want in the game?
This was the worst piece of TV I've seen in a while. What was it for? What was it supposed to do? What was the science behind it? Why did guys wear it in the first place? Biggest piece of fluff I've ever seen
The fact Matt Rhule is introduced as the "Former Panther's Head Coach" 💀
"former Panthers head coach" 💀
Best part of the whole video😂
Rivera and rhule

Eric Dickerson seriously looked like a big machine, and that neck-roll was a cog
He checked every box on every piece of equipment.
KTO is probably so mad watching this rn knowing he literally made this video 2 months ago.
😭😭
Nah kto’s vid got 1.2 mil😅
Been wearing a neckroll since sophomore year on varsity still wearing it as a senior
Every high school linebacker in the 90’s and early 2000’s had to have the giant cantilevered shoulder pads and cowboy collar with the jersey pulled over it. And the true animals had the full “billy goat” facemask
When I hear "neck roll" I always picture Mike Alstott. His neck roll went to the top of his head in the back 😂😂
This is why I freaking love the NFL!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
a RUclipsr, KTO, I believe also describes the iconic neck roll in more detail if other football fans interested.
They should get flemlo and KTO to do some videos
jack lambert was the reason why i put neck rolls on my players, in madden growing up
Ya the CTE cushion promoting spearing

I think of Mike Alstott.
"A Train"! All aboard!
Matt Rhule "Former Panthers Head Coach" Big oof there

Yes, i agree 100%. I needed one when i played buti was a S.S. on defense. But the game is played differently now.
You got every single coach in the league to do this EXCEPT DAN DAMPBELL???? EVEN THE GUY WHO GOT FIRED WAS IN THIS!!!!!
Also, belichick wasn’t in this
Layton Vander Esch
Vincent brown was the first guy I think of when it comes to neck rolls. He was the patriots best player for in the early 90s
Mike alstott
It’s scientifically proven that a neck role adds a full second to your 40yd dash.
But 10 more reps to your bench press
Love Villipiano, can't believe you didn't show Brian Cox! What was that contraption?
I think if a popular player started wearing them again they would become extremely popular again
NFL films clearly being influenced by KTO
KTO?
@@lzv6990 a nfl RUclipsr the guy really great.
back when football was physical and players played with real passion

Neck roll reminds me of water boy
Reminds me of Bill goldberg
Bryce paup had the most intimidating looking pads
Go back to 69 & look up Bob Brown,Rams OT. Now he was suited up!
@kto oh?
No? What's the phrase? Concussion protocol...where they go in the doctor's tent? Don't laugh at neck bumpers.
Why Jim Norton is coaching the browns?
Copy KTO
Agreed. I thought I saw this type of video somewhere else!
Why, would you talk about neckrolls and not mention mike alstott?
A lot of Beta males in the league these days. Mustve been raised by just a Momma
Sad. Wimps
The irony is that they really... never did anything!
Now they wear the yoga pants unis and solid color socks🤮🤮
"People dont wanna look like this"....surely he's talkn bout than chic hairdo
