@@lightcode1323 I haven't problem with the drivers. Sometimes my Mac ask me to give them admin rights, but that's no big problem. Before the Mac I've connected it with USB to my windows PC, there was nothing else. I only changed to Mac, cause I had no chance to get an thunderbolt interface for my PC so I can't use the AFX in my daw. Now all work perfect. Ok - you need some time to check out the routing options, but if you know this, you have a million options with this interface.
Hello, you can insert AFX into any DAW with the Antelope matrix. No need for AFX2Daw! Simply service external inserts into Protools, Cubase, ABleton etc etc etc. The limitation is 32 inserts (but with 8 effects possible per insert)
@@MadSteex Presets can be recalled but in the Antelope matrix. You have to think more like hardware inserts, which you can name and insert at will with 10 times less latency than with AFX2DAW (which is still 32 bits)

I have this as an multi-channel dac to my active, multiway hifi speakers. i had an okto dac8 pro first, but that one went broke and back to manufacturer, and i have to say, i just had bad luck with my Okto Dac8 Pro, not a bad company or bad dacs. really the opposite, actually. But with Antelope OSSC i got like 16 + channels, and also mic inputs, so i can measure all speakers elements without any time shifting issues. I really like the sound from this dac.
Great video. Coolest part for me wasn't really covered - which is the ability to bypass the preamps (believe it is "direct in" in the preamp settings). That feature has me seriously considering this interface. I also have heard their support is MUCH better these days. Again - great video - lot of things covered - thank you so much.

@@MadSteex yes this is true. antelope asks me to link to the i lok account where I have the luna license of course. when I do it it asks me for a USB i lok instead of the cloud where I have the license. Thanks for your time 🙏
Hi. Thank you for sharing this. It seems like you use mac so can you say if this works with default audio i Mac Sonoma? Can you select the mic channels as default system mic audio on the Mac and use it when you talk to people in Zoom, Discord or games? It does not work on some brands that have separate mixer that replace the default audio controls.
Yes you can do that. As far as I know that streaming service allow to send only the first 2 channels. But you have the virtual patch to change the routing as you want

I personally don't like Mac aggregate device, sometimes I use Rogue Amoeba Loopback or HiJack to create the routing i want and then send to streaming services. With Thunderbolt cable is super stable the audio interface

I love it, is in my rack. Only thing is that sometimes is not recognized by the App launcher, even if is working without problem. So I had to shutdown it and power it on again.

How does it compare to your old Presonus 192? I have a first gen Quantum which is basically the same as the 192 with Thunderbolt. It's time for an upgrade
Well I loved my presonus studio 192, the preamp was really silent but not as this one. The Orion has incredible ADDA converter, very clean, and the value of all the plugins included is super worthy
Which mac and mac os are using? My interface couldn't connect using thunderbolt. USB works fine but not thunderbolt. I'm still waiting for a solution from customer support, 4 days and counting! Thanks

I am having a difficult time choosing an audio interface right now I like RME products because I am familiar with their interfaces but as of now the I/O doesn’t work for me but antelope I/O does I’m just don’t know the quality of the converters on their product. could anyone that has the experience between both interfaces give me their opinion about the two
I have a Discrete 8 Synergy Core and fought with their crappy Windows drivers for two years including no support for Windows WDM. Bought a Focsurite Clarett+ 8 Pre and all issues were solved instantly. No more random device not recognized, latency, and general weirdness. Focusrite drivers also support Windows WDM including the Red Line series. And lastly, my LED panel text in the Discrete started to pixelate badly. No way I'll ever go back to Antelope. Now you know why Sweetwater no longer sells Antelope.
@@MadSteex I don't think my unit was faulty hardware-wise except for the LED panel text pixelation, which didn't happen until two years later. There are so many complaints online about Antelope drivers, hardware, and tech support (and my own costly experience) that I feel quite confident in not recommending Antelope.
@@andynonimuss6298 I see. I also had trouble with stability of Discrete 8 but was using the usb cable. Then they told me to tryout with thunderbolt that was more stable and then never had any problem

If you decided to buy this just because of number of connections means that you know nothing about real advantages of that device. I suggest to make review of kennel for dog instead of that.

Are there any issues with drivers? Having to unplug the unit out and plug back in again to restart so the host computer can see it ???

Exactly, if you place “direct in” the preamps will be bypassed. Even if in my opinion the preamps are super clear. Yes the support is great!

Well I solved all my issue switching more than 10 years ago to Mac and use thunderbolt cable.
