I really am questioning rn why are you so professional in editing and making videos even tho I have 200 subs u deserve more tho!
Did you use the HDMI port on the video card?
How did you get “Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit” and “Need for Speed: High Stakes” to work on your Windows XP machine?
I remember having to download some patches for it to work in XP since (if I remember correctly), one of them was made in the Windows 95/98 era. But the games I got working seemed to need some "help" LOL.
@@5PortStudios Nice! Anyway, where did you find these patches?
@@karldagreat I remember searching for things like Need for speed 3 XP patch. Problem was, many of the ones I found were on some dicey sites.
Nice! What’re the specs of your Windows XP build? Also, did “Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit” work on this thing? If so, how did you get it to work? I want to try the same game on Windows XP, too.
Hey. thanks for the questions! The PC is a Core 2 duo @ 3 ghz, 4gb DDR2 ram (3.75gb usable due to 32-bit windows), Random Small Sata HD, GTX 770 GPU. Let me double check on the Need for speed game. For some reason, I think I remember getting it working, let me check though. I'll reply back again.
Thanks! Also, how were you able to activate the operating system even after extended support for it ended?
@@karldagreat I actaully still have a real XP Pro Key and it worked perfectly. I don't think it even calls home anymore, I'm not sure if I had it hooked up to the internet anyway, but it activated just fine.
5-Port Studios I see. Also, how did you get “Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit” to work on Windows XP?
At what settings did you play there games?
Did you use a sound card?
Luckily I didn't have to have a separate sound card for this build. there was one built into the motherboard. But I do remember my first XP machine and it had a SoundBlaster Live card in it. OH, that takes me back. :) Did your first machines have on-board or a separate card? (I was always jealous of my buddy who had an Audigy card with the front 5.25" bay extension. LOL)
What interface did your optical drive and HDD/SSD use?
The motherboard had SATA. But I think it might have had IDE too. Not 100% sure. Definitely wasn’t as old of a motherboard as my pentium 4 systems would have been.
780ti or Titan/Titan Black is best GPU for WinXP on nVidia side.
Yeah, I wasn't giving up one of my 3x 780ti's for a windows XP machine. LOL
What video output did you use(
Hey, sorry I didn’t get back to your question about this before. I think I used the HDMI out on the GTX 770.
@@5PortStudios I see, and did it transmit both audio and video at the same time? Also, at what resolution(s) did you play?
@@karldagreat I had a pair of tiny speakers hooked up to the pc, but if it would have been plugged into something with built in speakers it would have played the audio as well. On titles that allowed it, I just put it at the max resolution. The monitor was 1920x1200, but if I recall correctly, there were some that didn’t have that as an option. But that was expected because of the age of the games. I can’t remember what those were though.
You know what? Thanks to you, I got a Dell OptiPlex desktop and installed a video card and sound card in it. I now have a Windows XP retro gaming PC. Thanks for the inspiration. Here’s a video for you.
