The Forever Winter is an upcoming co-op tactical survival horror shooter where you and your squad must loot the dead to survive under the shadow of terrifying and gargantuan war machines locked in a never-ending conflict. The game is being developed by Fun Dog Studios.

Movement animations are a little janky, and floaty - especially noticeable when crouched. hope they iron that out.
It's still in pre-alpha, so this footage is way less than what the finished game should have
Changing core animations after Alpha isnt super common. But who knows? Hope eternal. @@RGun90

@@GrantTodd-eh7ub This isn't an engine issue, floating characters happen in all kinds of engines and there's various reasons why. My guess is either the character models and animations are placeholders or the animators and programmers are more focused on other tasks currently like animating all the various enemies or the programmers are working on fixing more important gameplay and networking issues.

In total fairness that’s a level of realism that’s not “pressing” by any means. It’s one of those things that at best would be noticed once in a while as a neat little detail, but if absent, it doesn’t detract from the core experience.

This looks like Warhammer meets Death Stranding and I'm here for it.
I want to buy into this, but I just hope it isn't a clone of GTFO and Helldivers. Extraction shooters are cool, but let's hope these guys add something cool to the table.
This game is the complete opposite from GTFO and HD2, very different mechanics and a very different perspective on an extraction looter/shooter. 👍

Remember Guys Alot of the Team They Hired To Make this game...focuses on The Graphical And Aesthetic Parts Of A Game...Not to mention the lag spikes in the original trailer...will just have to wait and see it might just be another day before...maybe a little but better and the lack of character customization like helmets and stuff...look i know people aren't supposed to be the Big Fry in this game we are basically just scavengers but variety man

E for fps loverr that was pretty clear is a game of strategy, all the ai keep moving u are saw just as another entity and they will focus and attack u only when ypu are percived as a threat
This game is realized basically with a Master Ai giving mission and order to secondary ai , they decided who to attack based on threat level and they decide what weapon to use based on weight of the entity, if a group of mecha as givin the mission to conquer a sector and they see u going around they are gonna ignore u, if u have in ur hand a granade launcher they might on the other hand shoot u, if someone js chasing u u can make them chase u in some other forces and make them fight each other so u can get away and not die, is a dofferent type of game if u want a shooter go buy a shooter basically

I like the miserable wasteland aesthetics but, they gotta be careful so the gameplay isn't miserable too. It has to be fun to play
A lot of this game looks beautiful (if you like constant brown, rust and grime) but it definitely has potential. However I don’t know how *fun* it’s going to be.
It could be good but they need to show actual uninterrupted gameplay.
They have shown unintertupted gameplay and it looks great just a couple of things they need to iron out

Homeboy at 0:47 would be absolutely fucked up by that weapons muzzle brake gas redirection.
The DNA test came in and it looks like YOU'RE NOT HIM.
I'm buying into the hype on this one graphics/animations look a bit ruff but im sure it will get updated fast once the money rolls in from launch, just hope they have a reason for no flying drone swarms that's halfway believable because I can't see future combat without them.
The overall aesthetics is so dope that it made me overlook the rough gameplay ❤ cant wait to see more polished version

3:13 pretty weird how you just walk with a firearm and the ai just ignore you. I say risk of going un armed would be the highest since by chance you can be shot on sight.
The soldiers in this game focus on their enemies, not the player.

@blackbearwoodley there's a video explaining the mechanics, but basically they will shoot you, but only if they think your a threat
@@Noobking1t Saw that and follow up on how they see you as a threat. It makes sense.
It's a hellscape were people are just trying to survive, the soldiers probably realise you have little to no reason to die fighting them, and they don't want to waste their bullets or time on you unless necessary.
Plus you are shown to take jobs from these factions so they probably view you as worth keeping around (for now at least)

I'm still trying to buy in too the hype of this game I hope it want be a let down.
I would like if they made a map when you are taking missions ,and also have hot spots making the missions harder or easier caused by what types of unites deployed

There is a countdown for their 1.0 update called 'burst tranmission'on their website. Not sure if that's the full relase or not

If it goes to Console, something tells me it will require a higher-end console not the OG's. Regular Xbox One and Playstation might not be able to run it.

I love the artstyle and the setting. I hope this game gets good.

This game just invented a new genre of game.
This games feels like it would make or break the looter shooter genre, to many of these have cone out being just reskins of the most popular ones just like all the millions of BR gsmes there is, there isn't enough space to be origibal which makes me fesr for a game like this, ubless they can litteraly pull a rabbit from their hats thry risk slipping ibto the same mold. But the game looks very interesting compared to most others, visually it looks to be one of the best, lets hope they can bring some real originality to this stale genre.

Scavengers should and would in such a world atleast have their own mechs or war machines they create after collecting parts, which allows them to take down greater enemies and gather more loot fir their colonies, a reactor or a computer of a collected mech or machine would provide serious loot to a survivor resistance group
It looks like your playing an ammo runner in the matrix zion battle, you should atleast have the objective of collecting good for a colony and as a reward be able to salvage parts and use your own war machines, adding layere to the gameplay, otherwise the grind is pointless
A mech? You wouldn't want to be in a big slow target in an environment where you want to be fast and unnoticeable, your objective is to loot bodies and scavenge wrecks not die fighting for no reason at all.
Maybe an industrial transport or mobility enhancement mech could be useful tho.
Also it's stated that if the factions think you have anything of real use to them they will kill you and take it, so being caught in a working mech sounds like way more trouble than it's worth
Ah, a game full of massive armies, cool weapons, cool gear and giant mechs and you don't get to play with any of them, sounds like fun
It's anti war art, not consumer slop. The setting is supposed to be eerie cruel and disturbing not a power fantasy

Lord of the Rings is anti war, and you follow the heroes to stop it. They are still amazing and interesting. This anti hero slop is the trash you deserve if you support it. The world needs more heroes, not anti heroes.
@Akutikun then I highly suggest you actually check out the gameplay before judging, because it's a fascinating world. Mech games are overrsaturrated anyways

Her hair looks lie clay noodles, and the packs themselves empty would weigh down the average person. Most people would struggle with more than 30lbs in just a 1-2 miles depending on temperature, etc.

This is going to be an amazing concept ruined because the team is made up of mid developers with not a single genius to lead them. They already show rule of cool over realism. Art over substance. Preachy.
Right,because game developers have totally been making games of substance lately. Darkest Dungeons 1 and 2 had 0 known "geniuses" yet both are massively successful games

The concerning thing about this game is the fact that they bragged about working on AAA games. I hope this game isn't ruined with politics and money grabbing BS that plagues AAA games thoes games are trash and only true indie games that set their own beliefs aside to focus on making a game worth is ones time and money.
They left AAA games for exactly the reason your talking about lmao. They are concept artists who want to make art free of company policy and risk management.

It's a NO from me, this game looks ordinary, a lot of potential falling flat due to lack of direction, content and poor quality character modelling.
If I may I would suggest watching the games summary by Riloe. Im not trying to change your mind but ill def give you more info and detail on the game than this
Please watch the analysis of the game before saying anything further. You need to have a greater depth of understanding in order to see eye to eye with the game.
