Honestly Broly being given the title "Legendary Super Saiyan" is already enough for me to believe he can be a God of Destruction. I mean dog, we know nobody is gonna die in these movies. It all takes place before the end of Z, where everyone is alive. There are genuinely no stakes in Super outside of any new characters.

When the final fusion came out in broly there was a epic fight scene when the final form came out in this movie Gohan just one shot him and then it was all over… there was no fighting no nothing it was wack we wait a entire movie to see him transform and we get a one shot kill.
Older animes have actually been massively impressive in their use of CGI in feature OVAs/films in recent years. Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island, Evangelion Thrice Upon A Time, and this have done some really interesting techniques I haven't see in other anime films. It makes these other studios look like amateurs but granted it also cost AT LOT of money and time.
I actually appreciated the fact goku and vegeta weren’t there to saved the day. Show us why the other characters are important and they did exactly that, tbh. ✊🏾
You touched on something at the beginning of the video I’ve been screaming about Super for years. When you really sit back and think about it there’s only been one villain and one time we actually thought they were in any real danger.

I believe This movie was fan service/catching gohan and piccolo up to the top 3 with their new transformations. With assuming the timing of this movie is after the broly movie(which took place right after the “Tournament of power” I believe these transformation may compared to Goku UI omen and SSBE Vegeta. I think they are going in the direction of giving the those characters their unique transformation path. (Which we learned in the current manga arc with goku and Vegeta), so there won’t be anymore like transformations like SSJ1,2,3 ETC
I'm happy that you covered this right after I watched the movie on Sunday. I'll say that the move was good and fun. Happy my boy Gohan finally got a really new power up. Reminded me of a fan comic where he did the same thing but it was when perfect cell came back due to beerus wanting to push Gohan into a new lvl of power and killed video and pan. But back to the movie, I'm glad the showed some love to Gohan and piccolo this movie, also loved how they showed the others like Goten and trunks, they looked kind of cool for a sec before they fucked up the fusion. As much as I'd like to have goku and Vegeta do more in the movie, at some point we're gonna need the others to do something as well. They aren't gonna be around for ever after all. Glad they're stepping up to the plate. Other fun fact, the movie made android 21 cannon now lol
I enjoyed your recap more than the movie tbh. There was no build up to Gohan’s transformation. They basically just handed gohan and piccolo both their transformations. No actual work put into achieving it. As for cell, one of the greatest villains thus far faced by z warriors coming back as a brainless beast with a weak point on his head was the dumbest shit ever… humor was good but the story writing was rushed and all together this movie failed in my eyes.

Cell Max was feral because he was still incomplete. Magenta spent the whole movie beasting to wake him up, even though Hedo warned him he was basically gonna end up a raging kaiju because he needed more time to cook in the oven.

The movie was ok but I definitely feel like broly was still better. The fight with broly just felt more impactful. But for real though at some point we have to give Piccolo the father of the year award. This man been raising kids that aren’t his for over 20 years 😂😂
Well thats because Broly was more fight oriented. The fight in dbs broly was about 35 minutes of pure fighting whereas this movie took breaks in between fighting and had seperate fighting scenes that were not back to back like they were in Broly

I just saw the movie a month ago on an anime streaming service, and I'm glad that they focused on Piccolo and Gohan more in the movie. Don't get me wrong, I like Goku and Vegeta but I like when the movie or show focuses on another character and see what they are doing and how they handle a situation without the main characters help.

The only thing I hated about GT was how Goku was a child the entire time. I feel like they should’ve brought adult him back after the first arc. And I didn’t like how they pretty much made everyone except Goku pretty much irrelevant. Vegeta had to use a damn machine to reach SS4 lol. But story wise I thought GT was very underrated. It could’ve been better but I remember loving watching it.

Not gonna lie, I wasn't top hyped for this movie after the forms & image of Cell Max leaked... So I was expecting a 4/10. It was a solid 7.5 tho!!! Great way to play off why they couldn't use the DragonBalls, smart way to exclude the stronger characters so we could have a movie starring the others. Piccolo and Gohan were dope, good to see Pan have some actual character and they FINALLY let Goten & Trunks grow!!! But yeah, Broly ain't God Tier yet... Gohans new form prolly puts him on par with Goku & Vegeta

According to toriyama and the official power levels, Gohan's new beast transformation is stronger than Ultra instinct and Ultra Ego. But since I watched DBZ and Kai before seeing the movie, it makes sense. Goku always talking about Gohan having a higher potential than him, so he should be stronger than goku.

If you know anything about Dragon ball gohan was always supposed to be the main character as goku was supposed to be killed off permenantly after the cell saga. The Publisher did not allow toriyama to do that, which ended up with gohan getting weaker and side lined for goku. Then Goku and Vegeta Jr at the end of Z which we see at the end of the Dragon Ball Z saga which takes place after super. This power up will be interesting for the stories that are being made by toyotaro and adapted for the anime. Like the Galactic Prisoner Story Arc and the Granolah story arc.
I just called them Lord Slug 2.0 and Baby Gohan because that’s what that reminded me of. It’s great the finally got some power boosts though, been waiting for that shit forever
They've always been comedic or had comedy in it. Toriyama is a gag manga artist after all. If you watch dragon ball there's tons of silly shit. Dragon ball z had some moments too that were funny. it's not surprising to see anything comedic in dragon ball super cuz that's what Akira Toriyama does.

Yo, there was an "after credits" scene. It opens back up to Beerus' planet and the fight between Goku and Vegeta finishes with Vegeta as the victor. He was super excited "I finally beat Kakarot!".

Bulma asking Shenron for a bbl is one of the best moments in anime
Older animes have actually been massively impressive in their use of CGI in feature OVAs/films in recent years.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island, Evangelion Thrice Upon A Time, and this have done some really interesting techniques I haven't see in other anime films. It makes these other studios look like amateurs but granted it also cost AT LOT of money and time.
I actually appreciated the fact goku and vegeta weren’t there to saved the day. Show us why the other characters are important and they did exactly that, tbh. ✊🏾

I believe This movie was fan service/catching gohan and piccolo up to the top 3 with their new transformations. With assuming the timing of this movie is after the broly movie(which took place right after the “Tournament of power” I believe these transformation may compared to Goku UI omen and SSBE Vegeta. I think they are going in the direction of giving the those characters their unique transformation path. (Which we learned in the current manga arc with goku and Vegeta), so there won’t be anymore like transformations like SSJ1,2,3 ETC

I'm happy that you covered this right after I watched the movie on Sunday. I'll say that the move was good and fun. Happy my boy Gohan finally got a really new power up. Reminded me of a fan comic where he did the same thing but it was when perfect cell came back due to beerus wanting to push Gohan into a new lvl of power and killed video and pan. But back to the movie, I'm glad the showed some love to Gohan and piccolo this movie, also loved how they showed the others like Goten and trunks, they looked kind of cool for a sec before they fucked up the fusion. As much as I'd like to have goku and Vegeta do more in the movie, at some point we're gonna need the others to do something as well. They aren't gonna be around for ever after all. Glad they're stepping up to the plate. Other fun fact, the movie made android 21 cannon now lol

As for cell, one of the greatest villains thus far faced by z warriors coming back as a brainless beast with a weak point on his head was the dumbest shit ever… humor was good but the story writing was rushed and all together this movie failed in my eyes.

Well thats because Broly was more fight oriented. The fight in dbs broly was about 35 minutes of pure fighting whereas this movie took breaks in between fighting and had seperate fighting scenes that were not back to back like they were in Broly

I just saw the movie a month ago on an anime streaming service, and I'm glad that they focused on Piccolo and Gohan more in the movie. Don't get me wrong, I like Goku and Vegeta but I like when the movie or show focuses on another character and see what they are doing and how they handle a situation without the main characters help.

The only thing I hated about GT was how Goku was a child the entire time. I feel like they should’ve brought adult him back after the first arc. And I didn’t like how they pretty much made everyone except Goku pretty much irrelevant. Vegeta had to use a damn machine to reach SS4 lol. But story wise I thought GT was very underrated. It could’ve been better but I remember loving watching it.

Not gonna lie, I wasn't top hyped for this movie after the forms & image of Cell Max leaked... So I was expecting a 4/10.
It was a solid 7.5 tho!!! Great way to play off why they couldn't use the DragonBalls, smart way to exclude the stronger characters so we could have a movie starring the others. Piccolo and Gohan were dope, good to see Pan have some actual character and they FINALLY let Goten & Trunks grow!!!

According to toriyama and the official power levels, Gohan's new beast transformation is stronger than Ultra instinct and Ultra Ego. But since I watched DBZ and Kai before seeing the movie, it makes sense. Goku always talking about Gohan having a higher potential than him, so he should be stronger than goku.

If you know anything about Dragon ball gohan was always supposed to be the main character as goku was supposed to be killed off permenantly after the cell saga. The Publisher did not allow toriyama to do that, which ended up with gohan getting weaker and side lined for goku. Then Goku and Vegeta Jr at the end of Z which we see at the end of the Dragon Ball Z saga which takes place after super. This power up will be interesting for the stories that are being made by toyotaro and adapted for the anime. Like the Galactic Prisoner Story Arc and the Granolah story arc.

It's kind of a waste to use the name and not the character but if they brought back Cell for real, people would complain about that too. But they could potential set up Perfect Cell to absorb Cell Max in hell to create an Ultra Cell. Like they did with Android 17 in GT.
