    Again, I find out about it, think of trying it... I look into it...decided I'll try it...and BOOM 💥I find out it's been reformulated. And out of nowhere a whole new thread of reviews...it dont smell the same...it dont last as long..yap yap. Ya know why I hate reformulations? Because now the task becomes to track down the previous version so I can smell what all the reviewers and buyers smelled when they ranted and raved. And to make sure I'm not buying an inferior version for the same price. They need to stop messing with stuff!

    • @RaffiDiranBassclef

      I hear ya man, but I do have both versions and both are very similar. The new formulation is more citric and zesty to my nose whilst the older one is more rounded and smooth. Not a huge difference in performance either. I find that quite a lot of the time the negative words about reforms are just people having a winge rather than an actual, noticeable degradation of the juice. Just read the fragrantica reviews for Aventus if you wanna see that most blatantly 🤣

    • @JesusISdaonlyway
      @JesusISdaonlyway 6 месяцев назад

      @@RaffiDiranBassclef ha! Yep you're right! I've seen the Aventus storm and rain. And guess what? I still bought the current one and I enjoy it. It performs well enough for me. I've had it's most famous dupes CDNIM and Mont Blanc Explorer 3½years before I ever smelled Aventus. And despite all the storm, I prefer it to all my dupes.
      Meanwhile I just left Nordstrom like 30+mins ago. I stopped by to smell this Percival. Something in it smells a little metallic to me. I do like it though. Alot. But I can't help wondering if the older one would smell this way to me also. I could tell it was the reformulated version I smelled by the packaging. But there may still be a few old ones floating around that I can get. I'll see if I can find it but if not. The new formula it is.

      It’s potent for a summer fresh scent so you have to use more of it vs the other winter pdms. Hence why they offer the 200 ml giant bottle .. so spray a lot of it but be careful you might be going nose blind as this freshie is longer lasting than any fresh fragrance money can buy…

    Is PDM "Percival" similar to Abercrombie & Fitch "Fierce Intense"? I own the A&F and I love it. It's similar to Mont Blanc "Legend" and "Legend EDP", but it's better than the Mont Blanc. For a while now, I've been wanting to try "Percival", but I haven't had a chance to yet. I've noticed that "Fierce Intense" could be considered a Mahogany & Teakwood style fragrance, and I've noticed that "Legend"/"Legend EDP" might be considered that too but not as good as the A&F. I've been wondering if "Percival" is the best take on that kind of scent profile, but I'm under a budget constraint so it's too expensive for me right now. Besides, I own two bottles of the A&F and I own "Legend EDP".

    Ha! House of Parfums de Marly is the only scent we share (Carlisle smells good on my skin, smells good on his clothing.) I don't know how Percival smells but if it's comparable to Legend, then I'll pass. (I'm loyal to my Spanish baby colognes as my everyday + D&G Light Blue as my default scent.) We wear Carlisle on date nights because we're efficient like that & we can't really afford niche scents.
    In honor of Percival, based on your description, I'll assign this DJGallixC Afrohouse mix:

    • @oceansoflorewi
      @oceansoflorewi Год назад +3

      Its a timeless well rounded aromatic - sweet bombs are nauseating, and a lot of what i've smelled from PDM was gimmicky.

    • @GrowingDownUnder
      @GrowingDownUnder Год назад +1

      Layton = spicy, woody, green, sweet
      Pegasus = sweet and gourmand
      Sedley = citrusy, blue, ambroxan, slightly woody
      Haltane = woody and sweet
      Herod = amber, resinous, sweet
      Carlisle = woody, spicy, sweet
      Percival = powdery, woody, musky, slightly soapy.
      Greenley = juicy fruity green apple & woods, peppery
      Percival seems to be the most mass appealing and there isn't any other powdery musky fragrances by PDM. But Sedley and greenley are pretty good too honestly

    • @RaffiDiranBassclef
      @RaffiDiranBassclef  Год назад

      GrowingDownUnder touched on a good point which is Percival is the most mass appealing (on paper) but probably the least reviewed/talked about/hyped by comparison.
