I dont like the direction toyota has gone either. Loved toyota since I was a kid. Even in my 20s and 30s wanted a tundra so bad but they didnt offer a rear locker or a hd truck. Last year I owned 4 new toyotas 22 tacoma trd off road, 23 4 runner, 21 rav 4 (daugthers) and a 23 minivan (helped my dad buy). then all this stuff started. we saw what was coming for 24. I still have the 4 runner and my dad still has the minivan. But I wont buy another toyota until they get sorted.
But, it IS a problem when Toyota has to detune an engine and/or, adjust shift points, to avoid transmission failure. There is no way to sugar coat this; detuning and adjusting shift points to avoid catastrophic failures, is a bandaid to make up for transmissions that are under-built. There is no reserve strength. These things are running at 100%. NO one, absolutely nowhere else in engineering, do you see anything pushed to 100% with no reserve. It would be like building a sky scraper and if someone brought a bottle of water up to the top floor, the whole building would collapse. 12 ounces and goodbye. 8hp, goodbye. Its ridiculous.
@Jason-Samko agreed. I've had many Toyotas. Had a Tacoma before it was a Tacoma, Camry, Lexus IS250, RCF and Tundra Pro. I was planning on having ONLY Toyota/Lexus for the family, wife, kids and myself. They were always "outdated" but reliable. Not anymore. So, why pay the "Toyota tax"?
What about reliability of the "Forever Truck" 2024 Ford Super Duty Tremor 7.3L....lots of problems...did they get it fixed? Could you check this? Jason, thanks for the great work.
@adamnocon9432 fors has lots of problems with everything right now. But I still believe the 7.3 is one of the best HD motors out there. Still I would not own any vehicle today without an extended warranty. But it will be a couple years atleast before ford and toyora get thier crap together. And a couple years before the new ram motors are proven in a truck format. It's a very ugly time in the truck world right now

Your job as a RUclips influencer is to be as objective as possible and not seek sensationalism and clicks to line your pocket.
@NOTSoGoodHikers I did. And the complaints are minor. And I rip on stellantis all the time and I rip on ford all the time. But of course you only focus on the toyota rips. Toyota gives me the facts I present them as info to educate buyers. Plain and simple call toyota and tell them to stop messing up and I will no longer have content to rip on them with and will then just keep ripping on all other brands But all that said, you are correct, right now, I am a toyota hater! And that's not my fault. I owned 4 new toyoras a year ago. Now only one. I have always loved toyota. I do not anymore. Toyora failed me and everyone else.
@NOTSoGoodHikers I promise you this. I will make videos on and rip on any brand that screws customers, makes mistakes or cheats customers. I have zero brand loyalty. Shame on Toyota and any other manufacturer that doesn’t have a stockpile of big ticket items to replace in a timely manner. There is simply no excuse, no reason whatsoever and take months to replace something as large as a transmission or an engine or other critical parts.
Video coming out tomorrow or next day about the delay. real reason is they only have a limited number of parts and those parts are going to lc and tacos.
Toyota decided to build factories in Mexico to make tacomas. Mexicans are known for making great boxers, awesome food and making more Mexicans. Mexicans are not known for making trucks. Make tacomas in San Antonio again and watch many of these problems dissappear.
@DirtE30 only one that knows for sure is the driver and God. But my assumption is the money shift did not happen. Toyota is making it a habit to avoid warranty with excuses. Have a few videos coming out with more examples of that later this week.
I3 reported transmission problems out of 69,437 Toyota Tacoma sales in the first half of the year ending June 2024 is minuscule. This amounts to 0.0001% (1/100 of one percent) of Tacoma vehicles sold during this period. It's great that you are trying to advise people on what to do if they have transmission problems; however, the likelihood that they will is almost null. Hoping you are NOT making these videos only to get views because it only creates fear amongst Tacoma owners and alienates your channel.

Out of approximately 80 thousand Tacomas that are on the roads, aren’t you making this to be bigger than it really is? Again, NOT saying that this is NOT a problem, just maybe not as big as what you are saying.
