A lot of people are having a hard time right now.... what I've learned in my life is things get better MOST of the time.
I'm sorry things aren't going well right now. Warm food often helps. I was 36 when my husband passed. All I ate was a baked potato with butter. Lost a lot of weight. It was a tough time. Please know that we are thinking of you and praying that you will find joy again. Hugs!
I love cooking one day and eating for two weeks! Make a bunch of freezer meals freeze and pull one out each morning. I will run 3 roasters or slow cookers depending on that weeks meat choices. Next day I divide and concur making tons of freezer meals. Makes meal time so easy. I learn so much from you. Thank you so very much for your knowledge and guidance. Your wisdom is needed in these times. Most of the old ways are lost and no one is self sufficient anymore.

I so appreciate your channel. I was blessed growing up with a pioneer family in Oregon. They worked so hard and I learn many of the old ways and am using them now. I have to change so much as I have blood sugar issues as well as cholesterol but I do my best.
I love cooking this way!! Definitely shows that you stretch food. I love cooking chickens down and making several meals of chicken noodle soup, chicken tetrazzini or chicken and broccoli casserole, chicken salad sandwiches, etc. Love sharing my chicken noodle soup with friends and family! We love to make chicken tacos. So the bag of frozen meat is perfect.
I'm such a fan of freezing cooked rice. It reheats really well without loosing it's taste & texture.. I always try to cook extra so I can tuck servings in the freezer for later.
I’m ashamed to admit I’ve never done it. 🙄
I do it all the time..my Spanish rice freezes well so I make enough at one time for several meals and divide it out to freeze
@@RiceaRoni354 It works so well. I lightly sprinkle the thawed rice with a little water before reheating it in the microwave & it is very much like when it was freshly made.
You're spurring me on to cook correctly once again. I've slacked off during the very hot summer we have had in Florida, but I need to start fixing up meals for myself. Those meals help me so much as a single person. I've not had much luck freezing rice just plain, but I'll try again. I like your idea of laying the chicken on top of the pot pie. That doll house replica was amazing!

Mexican rice cooked the traditional way by toasting the kernels in oil and adding a tomato broth then simmering for 20 minutes freezes very well for me in a ziplock bag with most of the air squeezed out. It's good for months

I have a similar cabinet from my Grandma. But it is plain on the bottom. No scallops, but that was my Grandmother. No frills!
@@lucindaschubert9109 my mom had a pie keeper that I loved. It was plain with wire in the doors instead of glass. I really wanted it but I think my sister ended up with it. I love the old pieces that have history from simpler days.

I do the same with rice. I make a big batch once a week and freeze some. I do that with beans too. Saves time later in the week. One of my favorite freezer dinners is with Thanksgiving leftovers. When I'm craving it again few months into the year I pull it out and have my Thanksgiving dinner 🥰

When my family was young and I worked, prepping meals for the week was a 'must' - and even today, as an elderly widow, I still like to make 'enough' to freeze for another day's meal when I don't feel up to cooking. I've been binge watching your video's the past week. Video from years ago even . You make me feel so nostalgic . My grandma taught me alot of the old ways . She is gone now ( GOD rest her soul ) . I use to love to set with her and shuck corn and hear stories of the old days .. Canning jars of peach jam .. Its so peaceful here on your channel .. Mrs. Lori-thank you for all the wonderful ideas! I get Atleast 1 but often 2-4 10lb bag of legs quarters or whole cut up chicken and sometimes a hen in my weekly food CoOp-a friend in the CoOp usually gives me hers too Cather family doesn’t like dark meat🤷♀️🤦🏻♀️

Sometimes I even add on a couple big crockpots to get it cooked up-deboned-can it up-make bone broth can it up-I have to give a lot to a friend too cause I can only do so much-freezers are full🤪we are all set for lots of yummy winter casseroles and soups/stews & pot pies-Here’s🥃 to taking it a little easier after a long summer garden & canning season!

He carved me a dog one day took him about 20 minutes 😀I kept that dog for years . It got lost When I moved years ago broke my heart ❤️ . Your meals look yummy 😋 Thanks for sharing . I have this exact cabinet ❤. It belonged to my grandmother and I absolutely treasure it. Mine don’t have the checkered material in the doors, just the original glass with the red and black design painted on it. I have also bought smaller cabinets of the same style that I love. I feel so blessed to have my grandmother’s cabinet. I got her cook stove too. Your doll house cabinet is a real treasure.
