Week after week, it is such a privilege to sit, as it were, at the feet of so many wonderful scholars such as Dr. Bolet and always John and Hank, and learn and grow beyond anything I have ever been able to do over my 70 plus years of living and learning. What a blessing to receive in these latter years! Thanks to all of you! 😊
May I share with you something that is my testimony of what Dr. Belot stated about the ending of our suffering, maybe not until the next life. My husband had polio at the age of 7. He suffered pain everyday for the rest of his life (age 63) never complaining. But what he may have quietly asked God why, when will it end. Then about two months after his death, I was blessed to see my dear husband... standing, walking, almost skipping towards me, arms out towards me and his face so glorious, shining with such beautiful light and his smile brilliant. He patiently waited and though I never saw him stand or walk in this life. I feel it is because we accepted this issue together and waited on the Savior's time and place, we were blessed to share that moment twice! That was 22 years ago and as fresh in my mind as it happened this morning.
Thank you to Dr. Belot for his inspiring comments and for sharing his personal experiences, they were particularly relevant to me. I once didn’t know God nor His Son Jesus Christ and I have a chronic, somewhat debilitating physical ailment. Dr. Belot reminded me of how blessed I am to have found the true gospel of Jesus Christ, and that everything will ultimately be made right for me if I continue striving to emulate the qualities enumerated in Alma 7:23.
As I'm aging, 79 now the Lord has strengthened me to deal with some very difficult physical challenges. In a very real way l feel Jesus carrying me each hour of each day.
Dr Belot, we had 7 boys and a cattle ranch. All our boys learned how to work, and I learned how to keep feeding that crew. Mashed potatoes and homemade bread. All our sons have made their mark on the world because of growing up on a farm and they helped us save the farm. We couldn't have done it without them. The gospel is true. I love these podcasts. Thank you all.
While I enjoy all your guests and lessons this week with Brother Beloit has got to be my favorite. What an example of Jesus Christ, Orlando missionaries will be blessed.
Missionaries in the Orlando Florida Mission are going to be greatly blessed with Brother Belot’s wonderful spirit and his authentic gospel living. Great messages. Thank you.
A real joy to meet Dr Belot! As a mother of 6 I can only imagine his mother’s joy and pride in her son’s successes! I love these podcasts. This was a special treat!
I loved Dr. Belot's final testimony about finding Jesus Christ in The Book of Mormon and finding his own identity. I had a similar experience, being a "poor man" who was just trying to get through life. The Book of Mormon and the Savior, Jesus Christ, have given me identity and purpose as well. Thanks for the beautiful testimonies and profound insights during this week's study from all three of you brothers.
Thank you so much. I really felt the spirit and tears in my eyes throughout this podcast. You always have such great guests. I learn so much in each of your podcasts as I study along with you.
I have felt the strengthening and guidance and influence of the Spirit all through this podcast with Br. (soon to be President) Belot. I am so touched by his humility, help, and humor. The missionaries and people of Orlando are going to be beyond blessed with Pres. and Sister Belot there. I wish I could be among them. Br. Smith and Br. Bytheway-your Come, Follow Me podcast is my “go to” podcast for bolstering my scripture study. Thank you to all three of you, with all of my mightily changed heart.
We say it every time: thank you for another wonderful discussion! So enjoyed Brother Beloit’s humble testimony. Prayers for the Lord’s blessings upon their family as they go to serve in Florida. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️♥️
Thank you for having Dr Belot on the podcast. I learned so much from him and feel blessed to have heard him. I hope I'll be able to hear from him again someday. Those Orlando missionaries will be so blessed. ❤
Thank you so much! Recently I just had so many doubts about myself; if I am raising my kids right, if I am failing my calling (and I know I am), mentally tired of all the meetings, ward councils, calls on top of caring for family and special needs children and then I hear - "be patient with yourself" - hit right in the spot! And the Spirit was just there to teach what I needed to hear ❤️🙏 Thank you for inspiring messages. May God be with you all 🙏
Every podcast lifts me in major ways. I thank you most sincerely for blessing my studies with inspired insights and understanding. God bless you and your families for your service to me.
Thank You I so wanted this to continue. What a Beautiful Brother and testimony!!!!!! Thank you also for the Beautiful insights into this week's reading ..
I was a freshman in high school in Littleton, Colorado during the Columbine shooting (they were one of our rival high schools). I remember the fireside the Columbine students were a part of and was deeply touched by their stories of faith. This was a great episode thank you for your messages.
Thank you , John Bytheway, for your book, " 5 Scriptures That Will Get You Through Almost Anything"!!! The book is my go to when I need to be recharged spiritually. I have also shared copies of the book with friends . Great information and so easy to read and apply in our lives. Love all the scriptures in your book and how you teach us to apply them in all situations in our lives!!!
Excellent lesson bringing out many great thoughts. Interesting ways to think about repentance and be joyful about being able to do it willingly. LOts of Luck to Dr. Belot and family in Florida. What a treat they will have.
This was such a great lesson I appreciate it so much. How exciting for him and his wife to be mission President and how lucky are those elders and sisters that get to work with them. I've never been so grateful as I have a boy in Tampa Florida serving emission and my other son is in Nebraska and I am so grateful for the mission president and their wives and their men and women called of god and what a great sacrifice and what they do for our missionaries and I am so grateful.
So good!!!!! As usual, I am edified! From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much! Florida will indeed be blessed with a wonderful family supporting the missionaries in that part of the Lord's vineyard! My prayers will be with the whole family!
We here in Orlando are so excited to get Dr/President Belot! It was so fun to get to know him a little before he gets here to work with our awesome missionaries. 😊👏🏻
I’m trying to catch up (fell behind a few weeks ago) and am glad I am. This is a wonderful episode and such a wonderful spirit from Dr. Belot. Thank you for your testimony!
...that IS an amazing truth, & pattern of the LORD...that those who have suffered certain things feel an intense desire to RUN TO someone else who has suffered a similar tragedy...mine is...@23 my 2nd child & 1st son died after emergency surgery for a heart defect @one day old - nothing was known prior to his birth of the birth defect... whenever someone shares of a death of their child, I FEEL so close to them, & want to be there for them...THAT is how the SAVIOR can FEEL so close to us, & desires so intensely to RUN TO US...He suffered ALL THINGS, He knows ALL sadness, suffering, rejection, & aloneness...He will run to you...
I so enjoy this FollowHIM podcast. I have learned so much, and enjoy the humor. I am sure Brother Belot and family will enjoy their new calling. My husband served in the Southern States Mission in the late 1950's. He loved Orlando. I think they have had just a branch there. We went to Orlando about ten years ago. We were able to attend a ward there that was packed with people of all sorts of nationalities. The people were so excited to meet my husband, and he was so astonished at the growth of the Church in that area. It was a wonderful experience.
I just love thinking about Alma 7. It's fun to think about how our God lives outside of time, where everything is before Him at once. That somehow, in an infinite scheme, The Savior's atonement happened outside of time, so that it could be applied to those who had actually been before Him within time. And I'll never forget reading in Hebrews (?) that we have a High Priest who became us, and finally understanding that He became me, and you, and everyone who has lived or is living or will live on the earth. I was amazed to realize, as you mentioned, that the Savior didn't suffer "sin" all at one, but that He suffered individually for us. God bless the Berlot family on their mission.
I've always wondered about the word "shed" as it concerns the atonement. I think it is interesting that the word shed is used as in "his blood was shed for us." Shedding blood sounds to me like a process.
2 Kings 14:20 And they brought him on horses: and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David. (Note that the City of David is "at Jerusalem"... not "in Jerusalem". Luke 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judæa, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) Note that the City of David is also called Bethlehem... Bethlehem and the City of David are the same City. And therefore Bethlehem is "at Jerusalem" as Alma 7:10 states... that Jesus would be born "at Jerusalem" not "in". The old and new Testament clearly show us that the city of David; also known as Bethlehem, is "at Jerusalem". Alma is entirely scripturally correct!
I’m about to head to Orlando Florida for my mission and I’m so excited to have Dr Belot as my mission president😄
You got a very nice mission president! Best of luck!

Florida is pretty lucky to get the Berlots❤
I have the urge to visit Florida!

Why does repent mean the opposite of what it looks like it should mean? I don’t want to be pent again. I want to be un-pent.
Did you look up the definition of repent?
