Lord Jesus the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy. To separate and divide. Please open our eyes to see the work of the enemy in our own lives and to run to you for help and guidance. Oh please give us wisdom to understand the enemy always seeks to destroy our new lives with you so may we always keep watch and pray. You alone can preserve us through all the attacks. We praise you. We need you. Amen.

Fabulous homily! Unfortunately, we didn't hear anything like this at our Mass today - some of our clergy have become liberal. Our Lady warned at Akita, Japan, that "The Church will become full of those who will accept compromise". We must resist it.

@@kathleenfrancis1872 Francis is indeed a cancer trying to rot the heart of the Catholic Christian Church. I read just today that one of the new Cardinals he just appointed is a LGBT activist. I believe there is a split coming in the Catholic Church, especially in America, if the Vatican continues it's downward slide into moral relativism, compromise with the sinful world, and the rejection of Church tradition that is based on the Word of God.

Oh my goodness. He said the "F" word in church. I was starting to think "Family" is a bad word. I have never heard that word in church. No subject is taught as poorly as family building. The average person gets zero training in family building. I remember being young, I knew the law but that doesn't help much, so confused, young people need so much training, just like any other subject. That is the one thing that caused me lose faith in the church, no family plan. So many people never get married or get into bad marriages. Thank you for saying the word.

Looog time ago, when I was in elementary school, the girls had special class, once a week, forgot the name, but it was all about teaching girls how to be a mother, a house wife. How to sew, how to change diaper, how to cook. The boys had class on how to be a man, how to be the head of the household, carpentry, farm work, banking. Look now what the evildoers are teaching!

I was edified when you told us about the daily communicant that you reminded about the hour fast before receiving the Holy Eucharist. We need our pastors to remind us of "small" things as much as great ones. Father Mike, I'm a day late after traveling to see my grandson this weekend. But, I have for you, a cute, but sad, story. I have a neighbor where his parents are separated. She has a boyfriend and the father has a girlfriend. They are all Catholic. When I asked him, even though I believe in the sanctity of marriage, why they were only separated and not divorced, this was his response: "Catholics don't get divorced!" Incredible the misunderstanding of sin.

Really tremendous sermon, Fr Mike, about a very, very tough subject in today's world. Honestly, I don't know how our society today can be reformed and brought back to Jesus without almost destroying it first- and I think that's what we're going to see. The sinful nature of our world has reached a point that it is negatively impacting the survival of the human race. I guess that's where the Second Coming literally takes place?

Tradition is one had to be fully 'fessed up in a state of Grace to go receive.
Also, fasted. I think the reason behind is that it was a community meal in the past and people were coming for second servings (chancing their arm for more food I guess) at the expense of those whom didn't get to eat yet.
Today I couldn't go because I had to have coffee to wake me up to get me to Church.
