    I tend to have a very stubborn disposition more than I should. Once I would have ruined a very important occasion because of my attitude. I quickly left the area of my family and went into my bedroom. I prayed very strongly for this horrible spirit that was in me to leave. Immediately it was gone truly gone. A vision might have helped, but the feeling consumed me. The Holy Spirit consumed me. That is never mistaken nor forgotten. What a miracle.

      I appreciate you sharing this @christycritser2819. I've been in a bad way lately and came to read your message. Your faith to quickly ask for help in prayer touched my heart to pray to my Heavenly Father, resulting in great pain pouring out my heart to Him. I didn't know what I needed to ask for or change, and even had to end the formality of my prayer due to nausea and a splintering headache, but rested and the next day was gifted comfort, peace, and relief from the intensity of my feelings and thoughts. I wanted you to know that your faithful action some time ago and your willingness to share it with us here helped me. Ty🤍

    Repentance means to turn to God. It doesn't always mean that you are doing wrong things. Often we need to turn to God to Level up.

    Sometimes, we see repentance as a tool to clean and purify ourselves before we turn to Christ..and miss understanding that who clean and purify is Christ. Repentance is a way to turn to the Savior

    Is it possible to be more thankful for the Gospel and the Saviour than I was some hours ago? YES! That is the miracle. Alma 5 is the chapter that converted me. So it has always had a very special place in my heart. My father, who passed away this month, was the first to be converted in our family. He had been an atheist, so let’s say it came as a surprise to all of us, not least my mom 😂! We were still really new in the church, when he decided that, if we were going to be all in the gospel, we had better start having family scripture reading. By this point I had just begun the Book of Mormon, so was a long way from Alma. But dad began our first scripture study session with Alma 7. It’s a very sweet and tender memory for me. I ama Sunday School teacher and am looking forward to our discussion in class of these most sacred chapters to me. This was an enormous help! Thank you all. Blessings to the Belot family for your consecrated lives ❤.

    This was another marvelous episode. My wife and I look forward to watching part 2. We can't help but think how blessed the missionaries in the Orlando Florida Mission will be to have President and Sister Belot as their mission leaders.

    Thank you, Dr. Belot, for sharing the example of your wife looking exhausted and showing the image of Christ in her countenance as she worked tirelessly for her family. Often, we are given example after example of members in the Church serving neighbors, strangers, and ward members, but I think we most likely are working tirelessly for members of our own family on any given day. Yet, it seems that doesn’t really count? It was nice to actually hear an example of a sweet mother being an example of the Savior as she served her own family-and that it was recognized!

    I’m loving the discussion about repentance, but I have a question. President Nelson has instructed us all to repent daily. I imagine that President Nelson has a lot of days like this, but I have a few of them too. Days where I’ve tried really hard to put first things first, and work hard, and be kind to everyone, days where I feel really good about my choices that day. At the end of the day, I’m not finding that there was something I should have done differently. Maybe that’s pride to feel that way, or maybe it’s not. But what does daily repentance look like on a day where we’ve done really well?

      If by some miracle you don't have sins of comission to worry about, can you look for sins of omission? something you've been counseled to do that you've not done?

    • @april1st23
      @april1st23 4 месяца назад +14

      ...I think "daily repenting" involves staying humbly grateful for this eternal gift even on days when we were loving, kind, & do nothing "wrong"...[in thought, word, & deed]...sometimes unkind thoughts come onto the "stage" of my mind, & instead of "entertaining" the thought, I instead, replace the thought with good things...this is an example of something that is not a "sin" but a practice in casting away things that come to me that I DO NOT WANT...(like an unkind thought about someone who hurt me etc...)...The LORD is proud of us in our sincere efforts & in our desires to "sin no more"....

      I think it's about humbly acknowledging our need for a Savior, our nothingness without Him, and our eternal gratitude for what He has done to save us. Even on our "good" days. ❤

      Great comment, april...
      I would add, ask the Lord. He knows who he would have you become. That's what repentance is, or a part of it, becoming like Christ as you become the best version of yourself. Only the Lord can teach you what that is for you.❤

    if our words works and thoughts will condemn us don't speak work or think and salvation will be assured, in the BoM how many times does it say that we will be judged by our works compared to how many times it tells us that our thoughts will condemn us? I wonder did Jesus say our thoughts of lust would condemn US?
