Carry 2011's: Triarc vs STI

- Carry 2011's, to many this will be a foreign concept as they associate 2011's with competition guns. Triarc Systems and STI are two companies who make 2011's designed as duty or carry guns. So who's doing it better these days?
The 1911 Syndicate is a niche real estate company. No, we don't just work with clients who need off grid properties or to rent space for a gun shop. Almost all of our clients are shooters/military/LEO's/hunters and outdoorsmen who need to buy or sell a house. You should use us because we're actually good at our job, fortunately, the side bonus is that we all share a love of common interests. All of our clients get treated to custom knives when they buy their house, and private events. All of our 2019 clients got to partake in an end of year private CQB course. We operate in Utah and Arizona.

“Might even say it’s precious....” You tucked that in there nicely; subtly even. I wonder how many folks didn’t/won’t get it. Had me laughing out loud, though.
Haha, a few will get it
Dude you’re going to be big before you know it. The next garand thumb. Bring out some more content and show some of your set ups. Plate carrier Brattle belt etc
Appreciate the kind words. And will continue showing some personal gear
I’ve had great customer service from STI.
@Bob Cali It was when I wrote this but good job
@Bob Cali May 2020 was the brand change this year and before that it was still STI with the staccato line of pistols
"And now, I'm bloody and oily, and in a porno, and I can't press-check my gun!" "Oh yeah,Taran Tactical's doin great, aren't they" Hahaha, dude I'm laughing soo hard! subscribed!
What happened at Taran Tactical?
@@wallaceavin7490 I do not know all of the facts, but Mr. Taran was involved in a domestic abuse/sexual assault against one of his employees, and as I understand it, it all came out at SHOT 2020.
@@shrubjr893 I did a deep dive and there's video of Taran sexual harassing Jade Struck blatantly. Now it makes sense
Aww man
What if i told you the people at TriArc used to work for STI for 20 plus years... and theyre built within 50 miles of each other
More like 153 miles from Mansfield tx to Georgetown tx for Triarc and STI
@@ExplorinInTheWoods I know Randy. The man that builds them for Triarc.
@@lukaspatty6431 I didn’t realize that they were building them somewhere besides their shop in Mansfield
@@ExplorinInTheWoods lol thats why it says it takes 7 months right now when its really 10 plus months with no updates on your order.
@Richard they still having problems with that? I just grabbed a giessele (was built in 2020) 11.5 over ordering a triarc. I keep hearing triarc has young people building their ARS out.... anyone can confirm?
this aged like milk...
How so? I’m curious because I’m looking at a new buy.
@@bendycricket because staccato now has all kinda custom features to add when purchase. Basically making lot of dislikes outdated now. And wait time on triarc 18 months.
@bendycricket Staccato hasn't looked back since it passed Triarc about 10 laps ago
This channel deserves way more subscribers and views. Awesome vid. "PRECIOUS"
Haha thanks man
Well this is a heavily biased video on a gun not in production anymore and triarc's 2011. Not saying your experience with STI was shitty, but would've been a better comparison with a staccato c2 which is a 2020 gun that they are labeling as their flagship carry gun. No it isn't customize-able but that's why Triarc's guns are usually about 3500 after you customize them whereas STI is around 2500. All that being said I would definitely get a custom triarc since i love the 2011 platform and have been loving my staccato p duo. Would like to see an updated video involving a better comparison!
Good point, but wouldn't a closer comparison to a commander Triarc be the 2020 Staccato P (Full length grip)? I actually wanted the Triarc but didn't want to wait 2-3 months for one with an optic cut, so I grabbed a P duo, while I'm waiting for my Nighthawk Firehawk double stack IOS. Still surprised how few of them are available with optic cuts. Regardless, I appreciate your video for sure.
Problem with STI is that they discontinue models like they change underwear.
brian canning Exactly lol, they redo their lineup every goddamn year. It’s ridiculous
I too would like to see an updated video. I was in the market for a 2011 and went with TRIARC, my mistake. I ordered it MAY 2020. There was a 6-8 week wait. 22 weeks later, I still am waiting. It was nothing other than a commander, thats it. I could have gone, with a STI and already had it, or I SHOULD HAVE gone with a Nighthawk 2011. But, I went with TRIARC, MY BAD. Take my word for it- wait, or go with something else. TRIRAC keeps giving me the run around. They dont even know how long its going to take. They apparently cant get any commander frames.
@@arbninftryDon't pay double for a Nighthawk over the XC
I can respect you're opinion, however I've purchased 2 of the 2020 STI Staccato line and although they are "production", the quality is very good. That, coupled with very good customer service interactions both times with different people, and I'm pretty happy with STI. Not bashing Triarc at at...but I bought 2 STIs that are tight and accurate AF for what I would have paid for a TRI-11. The STIs also happened to have the features I like so that helps too. Thanks for the review!
haha you're welcome?
@@1911syndicate lol...I accidentally typed a "?" On my phone instead of a "!"...my bad. Wasn't trolling. I'm enjoying the content. Your channel will be huge soon
@@Whiskey.Tango.Actual Thank you man, we'll just try to keep folks entertained during quarantine ha
I subscribe to everything STI...
Thanks for your comparison on this! Decided to spend more money on the Triarc with all things considered.
Good call!
You are one of the few people that speaks like a normal person. Talking about the STI barrel I lost my shit laughing
Lol 🤷🏼♂️
Didn’t last long! Nighthawk TRS Commander is the best way to win!
Had nothing but perfect customer service from Staccato and my staccato p has cerations on the front end ...
Technically it is a custom order because that barrel would have to be mated to the slide.
Thanks for the video. Can’t wait to get a Tri-11. Dang man, those auto focus issues though...
You'll like it
Could you do a review on the STI Duty One series. 9mm. There's barely any video about it.
Thancks.
Great job! Randomly came across your vids, and I'll subscribe. Comparison suggestion: what about a 2011 vs CZ Shadow video? Both excel in competition and are some of the best shooting full size 9mms. Plus, CZ and Dan Wesson have the new DWX coming out, which is basically a 2011 slide on a Shadow 2 frame. And it's $1799 MSRP. So comparing the two guns before the DWX hits the market would be cool. I'm betting the DWX will attract a ton of first time 2011 buyers.
Honestly the videos are largely driven by what I can get my hands on. We're not a big channel yet so I don't have a ton of pull
@@1911syndicate totally understandable. If I lived out west (guessing you do from the vid) I would loan you my Shadows. But just like 1911/2011s, be careful! It'll cost you $$$.
I won’t speak on the guns as they both are well built and awesome platforms however, your assessment of the company’s themselves makes no sense to me and definitely hasn’t been my experience. For starters STI doesn’t claim to be a “custom” shop so ragging on them for not making changes to the 2011 you purchased is a pretty moot point. That being said STI couldn’t have been more helpful with my P Duo order I placed with them and even went out of their way to expedite the order as I am military. Compare that with the Rifle order I placed with TriArc that is already well past their listed lead times of 4 months, no comms from them and their website still listing my order as “processing” which according to their site means it hasn’t even begun production is getting to be ridiculous. Either way both 2011’s are excellent, STI IMHO has superior customer service.
My experience with STI service was horrible. In order to change the grips I needed to send the gun to their gun smith or it voided the warranty. PISS OFF!
Brother your intro was smooth as hell!!!!
Thanks sir, they're been getting better as we go
Well done, clean and simple info.!!
Ummm...i really like both these guns, maybe someday!
Totally, both solid
I can confirm that STI's customer service is piss-poor. Once they make the sale, you mean absolutely nothing to them. They won't respond to emails and/or return phone calls. I've purchased two of their guns in the past couple of years and I won't be giving them any more of my business. I very well may even sell one or both of my STI pistols just because they've left a sour taste in my mouth. Good to see that there are other options out there. I'll definitely be checking out Triarc thanks to your video.
Bummer to hear
Let me know if/when you want to part with your STIs. I'll take 'em.
The Triarc looks like it has Dawson precision sites. This is what most of the STI guns come with now
Yea I'm pretty sure they're Dawson's. Seem pretty standard these days
@@1911syndicate if it ain't broke dont fix it
FIRST!! I am interested in this..
I have a single stack officer 1911. I worry about the 2011 being too bulky.
I am a Lefty too.
Officer has always just felt like a weird size to me, but hey if it's work for you then rock n roll. Maybe something like a Wilson EDC X9 would be a good size for you
@@1911syndicate I will check it out!!
I am digging the Taran Butler pokes..
Haha
always excellent reviews. great channel.
Anyway we can get a comparison between your Triarc Government 2011 and a Wilson Combat X9L? Or any 2011 vs the X9L? I’m really split on which one to go with and no one has a direct comparison.
You know what I actually really like that idea. Noted. I have a Wilson coming in but it's a single stack
No, they just don’t make a fucking threaded barrel for that gun. It would be like if you asked a Jeep dealership to add an option package to your car that they don’t make. Tires are like mags, and yes, STI does make mags. In fact, they make those triarc mags. You know what, they make that grip too. (Disclaimer: have no affiliation nor do I own an STI, this dude is just talking out his ass)
So refreshing to finally find a southpaw on RUclips. I vote STI btw
Lefty or bust
I have a Staccato XC and a P, STI said I void my warranty if I send it to the same guy that @ Extreme Shooters that did their in-house stippling for years. I will never spend another dollar of mine on a Staccato product, Formerly know as STI. They don't care about me as a customer, nor about customer support or happiness once they have your $6500. Go Elsewhere if you want to feel like a valued customer for spending >$3k on a pistol. I have a couple Wilson Combat Experior double stack and EDC X9, Far better pistols, and phenomenal customer support.
Excellent customer service at Wilson I agree
Please review our California compliant potatoe. The california compliant boomerang and the California compliant pepper spray. Please and thank you
Stupid. Potato allergies kill. Assault with a deadly potato
I really want to see a review of a Rock Island Armory 2011. Specifically a Tac Ultra FS in 9mm. Real fucking cheap but I’ve heard outstanding things.
I reached out to them, never heard back
Hmmm fake it till ya make it I guess.
All my training is muscle memory. Think about signing your signature or reloading an AR mag. Movement. All muscle memory. What suppressor does your buddy run on his commander Triarc 2011?
I run a obsidian 9 on mine
Reeeeally want a triarc
do itttttttttt
Triarc? They might answer the phone, but you’ve gotta call them six fucking times and they still manage to fuck up your order.
Oh yea they suck these days
The term muscle memory never meant that muscles actually have memory
Correct
Yeah that really seemed pedantic
what ARCTeryx jacket is that?
Atlas nyx or helios, or staccatto c2 would be a better comparison in my opinion
Triarc tri-11s are nice but you're going to pay $1000 more for it over the STI and I believe they use sti mags. Only plus is that triarc makes them in double stack 45 and sti only does 9mm.
yes but i've got MBX mags and still prefer the STI mags
Personally like your no BS style.
Well thanks
Being that Triarc is a younger company...you gotta wonder if one day when their business is even better...will they do less custom orders and turn into a Stacatto? At the end of the day it is about the mighty $.
Time will tell
As a fellow left-handed shooter I was wondering if you knew of any way to make a Staccato mag release reversible for a lefty?
By the way great content and have been enjoying your channel.
Yeah, call Staccato
Would like to have seen the 2020 Staccato P vs the Triarc.
If I can get access to a Staccato P I def will
1911 Syndicate pretty please and thank you.
A quote from Triarc when I asked if I can cerakote my recently ordered centrifuge rifle: "...We also do not offer cerakote for centrifuge rifles as it's not cost effective and causes a delay in getting the rifle built and sent out..." I'm not talking shit about Triarc in anyway shape or form. The point of my comment is Triarc offers an almost "as is" rifle (besides a few options available) and when i tried to customize it, they basically said they do not offer customization of said product. That's exactly what STI is saying. In other words, your only argument is invalid. Hopefully you decide to revisit this comparison and actually compare performance instead of basing your choice on opinion.
how about the Triarc vs Guncrafter Hellcat X2?
I hear the 2111 is gonna shoot a 30 kilowatt laser at 40 meter range.
2K for a Staccato P comes with 1 17 round flush and 2 20 round extended. It's a carry gun and 2K is ok for us regular folk. Custom 4K carry gun must be a Vanity thing. Doubt you'll get 2K extra performance out of the custom gun over the Staccato P But what do I know?
Sometimes we just like what we like
@@1911syndicate This is true!
C Kim exactly. Plus, what if the 1 in a million happens and you have to use that carry gun....say bye-bye for many years as it will be held as evidence. If, you ever get it back. I’ve read too many horror stories. Sure, your life is worth it, but still. I have a Staccato C that is an amazingly accurate machine, but sometimes still carry one of my Sigs because I’m paranoid of losing the STI.
@@seaskiff20 I do the same, I have several good carry pistols that cost a lot less but very capable.
I was deadset on one of those fancy integrally compensated STI's for like five grand... until you just told me about STI's "customer service". Yeah, sorry, if I'm spending thousands on something brand new, I'd better be able to count on the company. I didn't know about Triarc before, but I'm about to find out a whole lot more, lol.
Well I would recommend watching our Triarc vid from last week. It's a little dicey
@@1911syndicate Nooo, don't tell me that xD thanks for the heads up. With a purchase this big my decision period's gonna be as long as the lead times, oof.
Have you done any reviews on single stack 9mm 1911s? I want to start my hunt for one and prefer your review and presentation. What recommendations would you offer?
We’ve got reviews on a Bul armory single stack. Cabot Nero. Wilson Combat Protector.
Ill go find them, thanks a ton. Absolutely diggin the channel. Im car fanatic and your channel is basically top gear for guns. Relaxed, not intended for everyones sensitvities. I just flat out dig it. Keep it up, you've done a really great thing here.
I also would like that, specially the Duty One series.
Nice jacket. I was looking for the one Ben wore in the movie, The Accountant. How do you like yours? I like guns and gear...I hear they make quality ware.
Can never go wrong with Arc'teryx. Great products
Man just subscribed. Not sure why I haven't seen you before now but I'm subscribed even though I have shot the STACCATO C2 DUO and the TriArc and in my humble opinion the C2 is at least in my experience just seems to be a better more precision build. Seemed to run a tad smoother - I've yet to have 1 single stovepipe, misfire, or any issues whatsoever. How old is this video? What STI are you using ? Do this using the C2. STACCATO has excellent customer service and starting in June they are offering threaded barrels.
That’s great man, I just got in a C2 for review, excited to try it.
Triarcs are sweet.

Would love to, just a matter of getting access to one for a minute
The guns are out of focus for the entire video, boo! Not bad opinions tho.
This is the video I’ve been waiting for. Obviously STI is attractive because of the affordable pricing but Triarc is what I really want but when I build it out they always turn out to be at least $4500. The real question I have is a Triarc 2011 Commander better than a nighthawk Agent 2 Commander Double Stack? Can you get a Triarc commander 2011 with a grip chop?
I have a feeling that double stack Nighthawk in is a very different price brackets. Triarc should really get past 3500. Honestly not sure if they'll do a grip chop though
1000 dollars more to get cerakote rather than DLC on a carry gun? No thanks... I’m highly dubious the fit and finish is any better.
What
1911 Syndicate what is right... Cerakote is a 150 dollar “upgrade”.
3k for a 2011 is cheap.
Depends
The shallow depth of field on this video detracts from it. that auto focus is just not working out
It's been fix since

Mainly typical for a gun channel to have biased opinions
I think we're pretty fair, check the last video we did on Triarc and see if you feel the same way
Well that didn’t last long!
Ha, yeaaaaa
I know that STI is a production gun, no custom work available and a note that I have had good customer service from them. That said, I looked at Triarc's web site, I would agree they offer more custom work but if you are buying one of their Buy Now pistols isn't that basically Triarc's version of a production pistol? First time on your channel, good video.
My opinion, yes and no. On a buy it now gun, they're doing the same shit they would do on a custom order, they're just making those choices for you. STI is my opinion, the actual quality has dropped over the years since going more the production route
@@1911syndicate Thanks for the reply.
@@1911syndicate yup! no threaded barrel options thats crazy
You speak of Cabot, Triarc and Alchemy etc etc. I can't find the vid (you were reviewing a Cabot) and stated +/- "there are only a few others out there that meet a custom standard......". I agree, I appreciate the "others" as we consumers need better options. But, as a 1911 guy, you really need to review and/or shoot the pinacle of "custom" 1911. Chambers Custom.... period. You wana Geek out on 1911/2011/specs, there is no comparison. A Chambers Custom makes a Cabot/Alchemy/Night Hawk (getting close) look like a Springfield Armory or old Rock Island Arms pistol. Seriously. Not slamming your channel, but if you're in the 1911 world and want the creme de la creme, you need to at least look at the Chambers Custom pistols. They may not have Mastodon tusk grips, but they will out perform pretty much anything out there in terms of tolerances and quality. I will have a review on my channel very soon. Subscribe ruclips.net/channel/UCuNz2cV-CwDYz2DNnZr_RFw
I get your point, but that’s very debatable.
@@1911syndicate very possible. You should try to get your hands on one. They are hard to come by. He only makes around 100 per year.

Buuuttttt y bro yyyyyyy

Ummmmmm yea ummmmmmm
Chamber check brother, chamber check. It ain't press check. You are checking the condition of the chamber. Lets use proper term.
Yes you're checking the chamber. The reason it is called a "press check," is a result of the method of checking. You're holding the slide and doing a quick press. That's where the terminology comes from.
Gotta say these Triarc ones that you’re recommending don’t look very 1911 or 2011y. They really look more like a CZ interpretation of one. Sorry, but they’re pretty ugly. I’ll stick with my Para Ordinance Black Ops 14-45 or my Bul Armory in 9mm. Much better looking. But hey, as always thanks for the video and your opinion.
Meh, hey whatever does it for you. Bul makes cool stuff
Biased video
Your arguments against STI seem kinda childish, to be honest. You admit that they are a production company but you're upset that they wouldn't re-machine your barrel to make it suppressor ready? That doesn't mean that they aren't customer-oriented. Could mean that you're a bad customer though. And your analogy about buying a vehicle and then taking it back for tires was beyond horrible. You were asking for specialized work that they don't currently offer; not an off-the-shelf option.
